I generally agree, but I have the following questions and comments: Let me clarify what I see as the differences and whether they are objective or subjective standards. You don't say which of the 4 are objective and which are subjective. I would say 1 and 2 are objective, 3 and 4 are subjective. Talent is being naturally predisposed to superior quality results in a given field whereas Excellence is actually producing such results. I'm not sure what you mean. With respect to singing CC does Jackie have talent or excellence?

Grace V. as part of the promotion for Disney+ and the movie Stargirl (in which Grace plays the lead).
This is "the main song in the movie" (Grace did not write this one):

With respect to singing CC does Jackie have talent or excellence? On the first point, I agree with the lower the number the more it is objective. On the second point, I would say Jackie has the same level of talent for CC throughout her career but the level of excellence has varied somewhat from album to album. In other words, even though judging talent can be subjective, it should be consistent since it is innate to the individual; excellence is the quality of applying that talent in a given situation and this can vary with circumstances.

I have deleted today's political posts by Nothing but Facts because he or she had already made a political post yesterday. We all know here that Nothing but Facts is rob49, so there is no he or she question. That is unless he decided he would rather be a woman and that's why he changed his posting name, although he probably should have just chosen roberta49 if that were the case. I guess that's the in thing now, if you get tired of being a man, you can just pretend to be a woman and say you are a woman, and that makes it so. I think being a dog would be kind of cool. Sometimes I would rather be a dog, so I guess if I just say I am a dog and run around barking, that would make me a dog. Something to consider. If I decide to be a dog, I will change my posting name here to Woof Woof. So keep an eye out for that. You're on the right tract there Dizzy but you have the wrong species. I would suggest an elephant would suit you much better considering the size of the droppings you leave here on a daily basis. 🐘🐘🐘

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I typically read only the threads that interest me and may miss what is going on elsewhere. I have moved the 3 threads to the Political section. I will delete any such future threads.

I'm not sure what you mean. With respect to singing CC does Jackie have talent or excellence? Let me further add the following for clarification. You have in the past mentioned Jackie's early success being in part due the "little girl" factor. What this amounts to is not that it was rare for a child to have such talent - the talent is the same throughout her life - but rather that is rare for a child to harness such talent to produce excellence. This usually comes with far more training and experience. As others have harnessed their innate talent, Jackie started to be one of many excellent singers her age rather than the sole standout.

I hope you won't mind that if the offending party starts additional political threads on the Main board, I will again point them out.

It seems that you have defined talent as a potential and excellence as the realization of that potential. If so, I have little interest in talent - my only interest is in excellence. I am interested in good singing; I don't care whether that singing comes from a lot of talent (potential) with little training/experience, or a little talent (potential) with lots of training/experience. I care only about the result - the deliverables, not the process it took to deliver them.

WE now interrupt your regularly scheduled programming for this musical interlude Thanks for the post. My comments: (1) As usual, Jackie sings pop for pleasure; in fact, she says she is obsessed by Swift's album. I don't recall her ever singing anything else for pleasure. (2) Her pop voice is OK but unexceptional. (3) She should also post this to her Youtube channel to maximize exposure. (4) She needs to do more of this kind of thing - her fans surely prefer this to her selfies.

This is "the main song in the movie" (Grace did not write this one): Obviously Grace wants to boost her popularity as much as possible by working with Disney. Something like this could also put AGT as just a stepping stone.
