We all know here that Nothing but Facts is rob49, so there is no he or she question. That is unless he decided he would rather be a woman and that's why he changed his posting name, although he probably should have just chosen roberta49 if that were the case. I guess that's the in thing now, if you get tired of being a man, you can just pretend to be a woman and say you are a woman, and that makes it so. I think being a dog would be kind of cool. Sometimes I would rather be a dog, so I guess if I just say I am a dog and run around barking, that would make me a dog. Something to consider. If I decide to be a dog, I will change my posting name here to Woof Woof. So keep an eye out for that. You're on the right tract there Dizzy but you have the wrong species. I would suggest an elephant would suit you much better considering the size of the droppings you leave here on a daily basis. 🐘🐘🐘 I leave educational posts for your benefit, but apparently they aren't big enough for you. Maybe you are spending too much time at the horse tract.

Via Rick's Forum: It looks like Jackie fans are getting a bit distracted these days. They are confused and conflicted. Luckily for them, there will never be a shortage of self-righteous self-appointed preachers to bring them back to the right-minded state. Amen.

Jackie sure is posting more.
Wasn't she a CC singer at one time.

Wasn't she a CC singer at one time. Even full-on Juilliard trained classical singers have been known to like songs in other genres too (or especially - even for someone who enjoys their work, they don't necessarily enjoy only that on their own time). Someone can like both. They might even attempt to do both. The only debate is whether pop is a total waste of time or not. Of course, I think that with occasional exceptions, whatever the masses like is worthless (aside from trash like fame and riches). Still, I'm not like some who insist that Jackie must ONLY sing what I like; there's something to be learned from variety, even if I dislike a lot of that variety. Although IMO, some genres that are all anger and attitude and not much else, will only be good when they go away and never come back. And while some country doesn't suck, a lot of it is "poor me, see how I messed up my life", kinda like Jerry Springer show set to music; disgusting.

Jackie has been doing more in pop for the last couple of years than CC yet all her OTT fans still insist that she is just a CC singer not to be compared with any pop singer.

WE now interrupt your regularly scheduled programming for this musical interlude:: Good job on the song, but.. When Jackie did her hotel-lobby cover of Taylor Swift's, Blank Space, I was happy to see her stretch herself like that. But since then I've become cynical. Many of her posts of the last few years make her seem a little desperate for more AGT-like instanta-success, when things just fell in her lap. I see them as awkwardly sucking up to the music, makeup, jewelry, fashion and modeling industries. Her indirect approach seems naive when there isn't much evidence of actually making those connections the hard way (working). I know it's not fair (I don't tsk tsk Grace's covers), but when is Jackie actually going to land a significant modeling gig, a theatre role, a fashion endorsement? I don't fault her for NOT landing these gigs, but I do fault her "empire" for at least the appearance of laziness. Maybe these types of posts wouldn't seem as cringeworthy to me if she conveyed the same ambition, determination and hard work to achieve her goals as she once did. Maybe I'm just blind to it. Maybe she's snapping out of her doldrums, and this post is evidence of that. I'm open to being more positive about her, but I'm not there yet.

half-kidding, but it sounds very restful:
Dream World
Once upon a time, everyone lived happily every after in a four bedroom suburban house with a white picket fence. Vanilla was the favorite flavor, Baskin-Robbins was a recent communist conspiracy against good order, bland was timeless, and rock&roll was the devil's music. Mom stayed home, and father knew best.*
The End
* even if unofficially that was in part because he did listen to mom on occasion

The article Google told me about disappeared shortly thereafter. And Van Wezel took their time getting everything out. Someone jumped the gun? Or just random confusion? But this did finally turn up: www.vanwezel.org/boxoffice/jackie-evancho-the-debut/(Friday, April 3, 2020, 8pm)

Her career is still going fine and she has many lucrative concerts lined up for the upcoming season. Sure, there are some who have more successful careers but she already earns more than 99% of the population. I happen to think that given her skill set and genre, she is exceeding my expectations and she is as successful as it is possible for her to be. She doesn't have the personality and songwriting for pop/rock/country, the height for modeling, the dancing/acting for Broadway or the personality for an internet celebrity. So she is suited only for CC and, given the limited popularity of the genre, is doing as well as a female American artist can do. Perhaps she thinks the same way I do and has decided to relax, take it easy and enjoy her success rather than work herself to death for little incremental return.

These are from Grace's first concert in LA. These are really high quality for fan videos of a concert. This is as close as you will get to being at the show without being there:

She has an acting coach; she keeps working on her own on the writing (and has worked with others before and may again); and I do believe I saw a bit of dancing in an Instagram clip not long ago. Seems to me like she's working on ALL of those, but incrementally, in between other things rather than taking a few years off (and losing the market she has!) to study. Adult modeling may come last; as you noted she doesn't have the height...but if the other skills open additional opportunities, the visibility will improve and open that up too.
