This forum that has Jackie with her picture as the header would not be here if Jackie was successful, they would find someone else to drag down in the muck and find a new header not Jackie’s!

Colty, no one is trying to change your mind. You can come out from under the bed now.

You cannot control peoples music taste: they always prefer great over mediocre. That would explain why GraceV is streaming much more than Jackie over Spotify.

You cannot control everything. You cannot control peoples music taste: they always prefer great over mediocre. It was explained to you already: There was a push in the last few days or so advertising Pittsburgh and her doing the local tv show. Its always been the case that advertising = more sales. The show was underadvertised for weeks which lead to the results you found. You are mistaken. Jackie did her TV shows about 3 or 4 days before her concert. If her TV shows had been successful, there would have been a surge of ticket sales within 24 or 48 hours. Instead, there was deafening silence. Crickets.

After a stunt like that I doubt very many in the entertainment world would want to invest in her.

Nobody has hit This Old Colt correctly! That is your version of it Dr. Who not mine! Jackie is a great talent and nobody is going to change my mind! Guess what, Colty, no one is trying to change your mind, we couldn't care less what you think. You'd be a whole lot happier if you'd stop trying to change everyone else's mind. Just calm down.

Responses to various recent comments by Sims:
Only in the last five days did the biggest selling group of all time, The Eagles joined YouTube.
Except for one reunion album, The Eagles' recording career for studio albums ranged from 1972-1979. That was decades prior to YouTube even existing. Even their reunion album was back in 2007 when YouTube was new and most other social media was non-existent. As for touring, these guys are legendary: they get extensive media attention just by saying they might tour again. Certainly, Jackie has no such PR guarantees. Is YouTube sufficient on its own? No, but it is a tool as is television, radio, etc., but it is the only means of generating interest that Jackie can control. This isn't the first time you have tried to compare Jackie's situation to someone like The Eagles and Adele and it is simply ridiculous as superstars and legends can generate PR just by existing.
Cait uses several bots to back up his bipolar "truth" and either defend it or pretend to disagree with it. The various bots that Cait uses are:
Socal Fan donkey Bot of the Year btw 1guest GapFan amg1977 ChrisR as well as most guest names other than Guest 14 and Colt of course.
Btw none of the bots wanna talk about estimations of the Pittsburgh show were from 2/3rds to 3/4 full. As I said before when the weather is mild, thats when more gigs should be booked.
I don't know this Cait/Yaz person you are obsessed with but I assume you know them somehow. I have repeatedly suggested we meet on Zoom to demonstrate I am not this person but you have refused. I guess it's just too much to bear the thought that more than one person may disagree with your take on Jackie. I am sure the rest of them are different people as well and some of their histories with this forum and Amazon goes back much further than mine. You really do need to get a grip.
Before there was an agenda to hurt her career, it was a fan forum.
Nor were forums in Amazon fan forums. Like Amazon's reviews, there were both positive and negative comments on the artists and their output.
Im not being critical of Terry Fator whos a huge talent, but are people really paying to hear that? But I think as long as he has a contract, it doesn't matter.
Casinos are businesses and are not in the habit of paying people $20 million a year on a whim. The reason he got that was because he does record business in drawing people and putting them in a good mood to lose their money. You may not get his appeal like I never understood the appeal of Siegfried & Roy. Did people go hoping to be there the day the lions used them for a snack? There are any number of other Vegas cornerstones who I never had any desire to see (e.g., Wayne Newton, Liberace, Steve & Eydie). But they kept packing the house so the casinos paid them millions and Fator is the latest Vegas phenom. So good for him.
Its a mystery ... why COT didn't easily pop up on the CC or Folk Albums Chart when it certainly sold enough.
That likely has more to do with the label and how the album was categorized. Albums generally are released tagged with one or more genres (this goes back to the days of record stores so employees know where to put them). Now it is primarily used for chart purposes. I have no idea whether Melody Place listed this as folk or CC or just pop and/or adult contemporary. Although Joni was a crossover pop/folk artist, I would not consider this a folk album based upon its arrangements which are far more adult contemporary pop albeit of a early 1970s variety. I'll leave it for fans of CC as to whether this qualifies in that category.

Msims: Its a mystery ... why COT didn't easily pop up on the CC or Folk Albums Chart when it certainly sold enough.
amg1977: That likely has more to do with the label and how the album was categorized. Albums generally are released tagged with one or more genres (this goes back to the days of record stores so employees know where to put them). Now it is primarily used for chart purposes. I have no idea whether Melody Place listed this as folk or CC or just pop and/or adult contemporary. I have been unable to find out how Billboard decides which genre an album belongs in. But what I have found so far suggests that Billboard makes the determination, not the label or the artist. This is what I have found: musicfans.stackexchange.com/questions/71/how-does-billboard-assign-songs-to-its-various-chartswww.theguardian.com/music/2019/apr/02/lil-nas-song-removed-from-billboard-not-country-enoughNote that all of Jackie's previous albums have been put in the classical and classical crossover genres, even the showtune albums. So I think Billboard's intent is to keep an artist in the same genre to the greatest possible extent. So I expect that Jackie will continue to be in classical genres, not the folk or any other genre. Note: See my additional post below.

I think one of the things that might help this site moving forward is that you have to be a registered member to post in here. I considered that but many posters post as guests. And some may no longer post if they have to register. In any case, if someone wants to obscure their identity, we cannot stop them from registering as multiple members.

Re: Who assigns genres to songs in Billboard charts This is from 2012 but I don't think the principle has changed: it is Billboard that decides, not the label.
