Because you know as much colt does about the music business, ill explain it to you: First you write, then you record, and then you tour. Anyone who watched the Zoom and the latest interview would gather shes still in the writing/releasing singles stage. Im going back to the song Get out of My life others here who ive noted lack any self awareness in realizing shes singing about them expecting perfection, her doing all things at once and the expectations being absurd. Follow your mops who cant sing and let Jackie do what she does. ("It took me 15 years to take 20 minutes [to write a song]," Sia told Rolling Stone this year.) But while she wrote Rihanna's "Diamonds" in under 15 minutes, for Rihanna to replicate her demo took two days. msims is playing the straw man game. The issue isnt now why isnt she touring now. The question has been why did her last album tour last a month and then no album touring for the last year? The answer, because the last album and tour flopped, something msims has never been able to acknowledge. Now she's going to try again...write songs and, release another album..hopefully, and hopefully announce new concert dates for that album. But lets be clear, the reason Jackie hasn't toured for the last year, other than the couple of annual shows she does in Ocean City and at Xmas, is because her career is struggling mightily and touring with the latest album material wasn't commercially viable.. She is now attempting to create a Jackie 2.0 career with all new material. If this album doesn't come out until say next spring, that will be a year and a half with no album touring by the way.

Jackie has to be careful what she says in public, people will twist what you say ! She has to be mindful that eyes and ears are everywhere and are looking ๐ for anything she says or does !

I don't really think she has to worry about that. Jackie's problem at this point is that very few will hear anything she says.

I just wish Jackie could sing ๐ค her new song as a guest performer on the finals of AGT this year, that would be at least 15 million viewers for her !

Only two ways Jackie 2.0 can happen. #1 Jackie's career drops to a level that Mike has to get a job and then Jackie could be free to start getting the right people behind her. #2 Jackie finds a boyfriend that is at least as intelligent as an average high school graduate and they shack up and he start handling her career.
13 years has proven that Mike is incapable of managing anything, He has proven himself to far outside the mainstream thinking for him to deal with Jackie's career espacilly if it is Jackie 2.0 start up.

I don't know if I've been listening to the right Pandora station. Earlier in the thread someone clarified that it is called "Indie Pop" so I picked the one that uses the same logo as the one Jackie posted.
But first a note on "alt pop" vs "indie pop." I previously thought Jackie's song was on Pandora's "Alt Pop" station. I highly recommend not making that same mistake. The "Indie Pop" playlist (listed as Indie Pop Radio) is much more interesting.
Definitions vary on the difference between "alt" and "indie" but here's my definition: alt pop sucks. I don't know what's so alternative about it, because it's very much formulaic, repetitive and irritating, using a lyrical and rhythmic structure that you can copy and paste from one song to another. For over an hour I patiently tolerated the Alt Pop playlist but I finally went thoroughly mad.
On the other hand the Indie Pop station is far more interesting, using more real instruments, unique production, and varied song structures. In the last hour it's gone from Death Cab For Cutie to Kate Bush. Here as well, I'm not sure what the "independent" part really means - mostly indie label I guess - but at least the independent part comes across in the music variety. Jackie's song hasn't come up in over an hour though, which is why I'm wondering if I'm on the right one. However if this is the kind of company her song will keep, she's in a good genre.

Unless you can quote the exact post and poster, you arent telling the truth again as you been saying alot of nonsense lately. Nobody intelligent thinks its not a hell of alot of work, but most real musicians couldn't care less about being famous or being influencers. They just want to create, as is the case with Greg Camp who doesn't need to work or be famous. I don't need to find the exact quote that was in one of the old sites that may not even exist anymore, but I do know there is several here that have been following her long enough to remember some of the talk about her not needing to work like others. Jackie even said herself she only practices 1 hr a week even though she knows how important it is. Someone says something injudicious when they're young, that might have been encouraged to expand the prodigy image, and you hold them to it for life? She also said once that she works 60 hours/week. Doing what, we have no idea, clearly not all performing or recording or writing or promoting. Reality on average is somewhere in between, probably. Both are probably exaggerations, but maybe what it feels like at times. edit: and traveling and other logistics for work is work, too.

Good, Bad as long as people are talking about you that is a good thing. Unless you're at risk of being in a cone of silence (Get Smart), there's no need for a Wrecking Ball moment; that level of success isn't worth going that far. NOT ALL PUBLICITY IS GOOD PUBLICITY. Sooner or later, you pay a price for that which you didn't anticipate at the time.
