Jackie should have started promoting herself and new music a couple of months before she released her new song. I am still not sure what group of people her new music is directed at. I would say it is directed at the same audience that likes Lana Del Ray and Florence Welch (Florence & the Machine). Both have close to goddess status in the alt pop world. Both Billie and Grace opened for Florence (Billie opened a few years before she became huge) and this gave both some gravitas by association. A few years back Lana posted a video of her singing along with Grace's "Ur So Beautiful." Both have mentored young female artists including Grace & Billie and Lana recently gave support to Olivia Rodrigo. Olivia's new album is more musically adventurous than her first and Olivia considers Lana along with Kate Bush and Alanis Morissette (alt-pop's elderstateswomen) among her musical heroes. This blends in with what I have suggested as Jackie's next move: try to snag a spot as a tour opener with an established alt-pop artist. There will be no pressure on Jackie to sell tickets and Jackie has a built in excuse to drop the CC standards for tbat tour. This also gets your music in front of the audience whose support you want while gaining some of that "gravitas by association." I don’t think Mike will let Jackie go off on her own to have a chance to make friends! Mike can't stop her from going out on her own and making friends, she's 23 years old. It's pretty obvious that Jackie just doesn't want to. Mike probably gave her the old "as long as you are living under my roof you will do as I say" and by the way the rent is do tomorrow. |

If that ever actually comes to fruition, it will likely be just a handful of dates...certainly not a "big tour". |

rickolsen: Colby disappeared again. No idea where he is. He hasn't been out in the open since I brought him home. He didn't eat any of the food I put under the sink. I've never had a cat hide this long or go without eating this long before.
Don’t worry he’s probably crunching out on some of the mice that’s infested in his hovel.

After she appeared on some home shopping channel to sell her last album, pride should be the least of her concerns. As for a tour, if she wants to be a pop singer, a tour of 30-35 dates over a few months is part of it. If a 70+ year old Elton John and an 80+ year old Paul McCartney can do it, surely a 23 year old can. |

I don't know Rick aside from his posts but I have a gut feeling he's one of those hoarders you see on TV where some pop psychologist does an intervention. It shouldn't be that difficult to find out whether a cat is under your bed. |

Or maybe he put poison around for the rodents. Then when a cat eats the rodent, they die. It's 5 days since he brought him home, no food, no water, but as of 2 days ago he was still alive. It's just devastatingly disgusting. I can't fathom why he's allowing this to continue again. I'd love to break in and save that cat if it's not too late already. |

It shouldn't be that difficult to find out whether a cat is under your bed. I thought all his cats were taken from him. The remaining ones were taken, but they gave him another one 5 days ago. He's only see that cat once since Monday morning and it hasn't come out to eat or drink. I doubt the organization knew about the first 2 dead cats, just the 3rd one. |

I wonder if she got lucky that night. Not if Daddy has his way. And he is going to be at her side to make sure he has his way. But maybe the only reason Jackie went out was because Mike persuaded her to. Mike realizes that socializing is important to improve Jackie's mental state. Maybe Mike wants grandkids. After all, Jackie has had a number of boyfriends and nobody disapproved. Maybe Mike is doing is best to help her find companionship. |
