I've always admired Grace's ability to cast an idea into words and music. I'm not a big fan of the fashion model stuff, but it's important to her, so I hope for the best.
I'm finding it hard to be inspired by her latest interviews. Her "project" sounds like something any NYC fashion designer / artiste would come up with and describe in airy fairy deep-ity words without actually saying anything meaningful to me. Meaningful to her, yes, but not to me. I'm getting bored with 20-somethings I guess.
I'm not knocking Grace's journey, I'm just lacking the energy to follow it. To be honest, her not releasing a follow-up to Letters Vol I, and landing where she is now, feels like I just read a book with a chapter missing and I'm left feeling underwhelmed. I'll try to stay interested, but it's becoming kind of a Jackie thing to me, as in barely paying attention anymore (which is why I deleted my account some months back. I was having trouble seeing the point).

Nothing she can do about Columbia not wanting to release her music. I think in the long run, she's better off where she's at now. I for one am looking forward to what she has in store with her new album.

Whenever you're dealing with someone who is trying to fall on the "alt" or "arty" side trying their hand some sort of themed album or "project," there is always the danger of falling off a cliff into pure pretentiousness. It depends on the artist but most of all on the music itself. Sometimes an artist can be in danger of crossing the line from pompous to downright cringe but they are saved by their own talent. In such cases, whatever flaws the results have can be covered up by swinging for the fences and connecting. That is, they make an effort at some grand statement that can come off as pretentious but the result is good enough to give them a pass on the occasional bs.
I can give two examples from the 1980s as contrasts: Pink Floyd's The Wall and Styx's Kilroy Was Here. The concepts behind both projects were by their nature in danger of bloated pretense. While I think The Wall was flawed in comparison to some other of PF's albums (e.g., Dark Side of the Moon), it had enough great moments to make it work. At that point in time, despite the whole concept being pretentious, they were just too good as musicians to fail. Styx, on the other hand, were relative lightweights who were best when making hook laden arena anthems. Them trying to make a serious concept album ended as absurdly as you would expect.
So far, all I've heard are two songs that I presume will be on the album. One ("Call It What You Want") is good and the other ("What's Left of Me") is excellent. It could be the rest of it is bloated pretense or great. I'll make my mind up when i hear it.
As for Letters, Volume II, we have two songs ("Don't Assume What You Don't Know" and "Repeat" that would have been on it had it been released in 2020 as originally planned and two more ("Lion's Den" and "Boyfriends") that would have been on later versions, and numerous others she played on lives (either singing with guitar or playing parts of demos) over the last four years. She said she left forty recorded songs behind at Columbia that could be released some day but who knows if we'll ever hear them.
She is an excellent songwriter and very creative but also is maybe a little bit crazy. Sometimes talented artists who are a little bit crazy are stable enough to have productive careers (e.g., Lana Del Ray). Sometimes they veer off into very crazy and go off the deep end (e.g., Lauryn Hill). We'll see what happens.

That is good but will anyone except for the small audience ever see it. Not if Mike has anything to do with it.

I don't remember if it hapoened before, but is this Jackie's first concert in casual clothing? Obviously, you're not going to wear a gown to this kind of show.
