I do have a few theories but they are just that - theories. The first is that she generally shied away from associating with any established labels but this also meant she largely missed out on top shelf producers and solid promotion. There seems to be a case similar to Jackie where she became a family business and independently released her music and often was accompanied by her far less talented siblings. She really needed top flight musicians accompanying her on the road and this may have hampered her. There really is no evidence that Anna was the main bread winner for her family. Especially since she wasn't bringing in the BIG bucks like Jackie clearly was post AGT.

I was referring more to her music being released on her own label, forming a band with her siblings, etc. Her songs never got the full professional treatment they deserved and she just slipped under the radar. I do believe had Simon Cowell been more active in the production of AGT at that time, her career might have played out differently. He likely would have recognized her songwriting talent and packaged her as a songwriting prodigy as he did with Grace half a decade later. It's all a big "what if?" but it does make you wonder.

She seems to be moving into a career as a professional songwriter. Given some of the issues she has dealt with in the past, this might be the best thing for her.

She's such a cool person, I just love her. "The Times They Are a-Changin'" is a beauty of a cover version.
