Although it strikes me that some of the same folks that argue against excessive standing O's and other shenanigans are fine with the no less distracting spontaneous aisle dancing or body surfing or mosh pits that younger folks may prefer. One standard for all, please; either feel free to be disruptive in your own way whether participatory or merely attention-seeking, or STFU and listen and be silent until after the last note finishes and the conductor lowers his baton.
What is appropriate really depends on the music style. There is no one size fits all pattern of good concert behavior. A classical music concert is generally there strictly for the music and the desire to listen to it carefully. Under those circumstances, a more reserved behavior is appropriate. Artists that would have a mosh pit going are selling energy as much as music and so engaging in that behavior is appropriate for that setting. A lot of times there is a known code that is common decency to follow. Things that could be disruptive in one setting might be encouraged in another setting.
Between classical and mosh pits there is standard pop singers. Jumping off the stage to be caught by the audience is not something that is part of that environment but singing along is not only appropriate but appreciated by the artist. Dancing is acceptable so long as it is done in one's personal space. This is something everyone gets.
Where things would be appropriate with Jackie (or other CC artists) could be a bit murky. It could even vary from song to song. Jackie might appreciate singing along with her for something like the chorus of "Both Sides Now" that most people know and perhaps acting like they would at a pop concert if she decided to sing "Dangerous Woman" at one of her shows. But certain shenanigans are out of place in other numbers that are meant for listening rather than emotion or where the emotion should be left internal.
I can't say whether the carrying on by some Jackie fans crosses the line more often than not. Certainly, a few examples that have been mentioned here did so. But excessive standing ovations? I don't think I have heard an artist complain about getting a standing ovation. It may be excessive when the performance does not warrant it but it is not excessive in principle.

It could even vary from song to song. Too complicated to get too judgmental, methinks. Although I wouldn't hate it if the attention seekers kept it way down (and to be fair, I haven't seen 'em doing real silly stuff for a long time), and the rest at least waited until the last _sung_ note to applaud, and only sang along or danced if invited to.

Little girl Jackie has left the building, and she has clearly taken those nitwits with her. It must be nice for her concert goers now that they generally don't have to deal with that moronic behavior anymore.

A number (some of those still alive and mobile) of the same people that were "nitwits" then are still regulars, but they eventually realized they were over the top, or at least, saw that some others did and dialed back themselves. People CAN change; at least some do, although that may include some slow learners. Getting a little repetitive, complaining about what mostly no longer exists.

It would have been nice if they hadn't behaved like morons to begin with.

One of the young female singers mentioned in passing when I posted Spotify stats, Jenna Raine, looks ready to make her move. She is an 18 year old girl from Texas who is a singer-songwriter with a nice but not fantastic voice but has a natural ability to create some good country-pop hooks.
She also has a nice back story as she was signed after a big audition to some kids girl group that was supposed to be the next big thing for tweenage girls but it never took off and she ended up being tossed aside. She then started to write songs, started YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok channels, released singles and EPs independently, toured as an opening act with anyone who would take her and generally worked her tail off for the next 5 years. It paid off as her song "You Can Blame Me" went viral and she got noticed by one of the "Big 3" (Warners). Her first single for Warners, "See You Later (Ten Years)" has streamed 46 million times and she is working on an EP follow up.
Another example of why self-promotion through social media is necessary in the changed world of popular music. http://instagr.am/p/CaYSacbP8kP

Emily is a cute girl and uses social media as much as anyone. Her fan base has grown greatly in the last couple of years and she sure doesn't seem to have any body image problems.

I wonder if she doesn't live in LA as she is good friends with the people Kenzie hangs out with like Lilia Buckingham and Jayden Bartels She even did a music video with Jayden Bartels and went on tour with her. Seeing who Jenna hanged out with years ago it is no wonder that she got into social media at a young age. a big advantage hanging around with peers that are interested in doing the same thing you do.

I think she goes back and forth between Texas and LA. Texas is home and LA for some work. That could change now that she is with Warners who are based in LA.

Oh it would be not only about the singing...she would learn an instrument, would learn how to arrange songs, produve music...in the moment no one takes her serious...she is just an amateur singer...who only has followers, fans...because of her AGT performance 10 years ago...she had literally no influence on her albums...everything is pre produced. Why on earth you decided to join a forum about an artist you have no respect for? I dont know. First she isnt an amateur singer, amateurs just use social media. Jackie's made a living and shes worth about $6 million. Secondly of course she had input in those albums even at 10 years old and she has gone on to do concerts and tv appearances which total around 200. Shes easily the most prolific young woman artist in the US and certainly coming off a reality show. You should consider reading her wiki page and get the facts. Hopefully we get a preorder announcement soon and a list of new dates. -- And as far as Crazy Cakes' BS is concerned. "Old timers" IS her audience. You would have known that had you gone to that concert you claimed you went to. Theres nothing even the slightest bit wrong or OTT about going to multiple concerts, giving standing ovations, clapping, cheering, and if she hits a high note in a song clapping isnt out of the norm either. Signs are not out of the norm either. There is no right or wrong way to behave at a concert as long as you dont go on the stage or throw anything at the stage. Jackie certainly at her young age would have enjoyed that enthusiasm and thats the kind of energy artists who tour feed off of. However your account is to not be trusted as you have resorted to trolling/enabling of trolls and lying.

Ahh that’s too bad, you couldn’t beat a good penguin waddle or blinky sign or banner waver in the crowd. To be fair let’s not leave out all those pervs sitting in the front row pit seats during her early years trying to shoot pictures up her dress. 😲

Didn't one follow her to hotels and the other walk up to her in an airport?
