Trump's Obamacare move could cost US nearly $200 billionSource: Bloomberg President Donald Trump is halting some Obamacare subsidies. A big money saver for taxpayers, right? Wrong. The move could actually force the government to dole out almost $200 billion more on health insurance over the next decade. Here’s why: The insurer payouts Trump cut off aren’t the only government funds financing the program. Consumers also can get help with their insurance premiums. When the insurer subsidies are discontinued, those premiums are pushed higher -- and because the consumer subsidies are far bigger than those given to insurers, that’s a costly trade. More than eight in ten individuals who buy Obamacare plans get help paying their premiums directly from the federal government. Those subsidies effectively cap how much people have to pay for insurance as a percentage of their income. Even if premiums climb, people who receive those benefits won’t pay more out of their own pockets. The subsidies are available to people making as much as four times the federal poverty level, or just over $97,000 for a family of four. www.msn.com/en-us/money/healthcare/trumps-obamacare-move-could-cost-us-nearly-dollar200-billion/ar-AAtoNwI?li=BBnb7Kz

Even if premiums climb, people who receive those benefits won’t pay more out of their own pockets. Sorry, but that's pure bull. My premiums have more than doubled since the Obamacare started. I was paying about $300/month, now $700/month with a $4500 deductible and that's with a $800 subsidy. Plus every single year I have to get a new plan, either because the insur. provider dropped my current plan or because they dropped out entirely. I'm waiting for the letter to tell me I'm going to have to make changes again this year, it'll probably happen. By now I'll be happy if there's still one insur. provider left. If people want to know the facts they should talk to someone who has to deal with it. I know someone who's going on Medicare in December and she took the chance of being uninsured for 2017 and paid for her own blood tests and meds, out of pocket, for about what one month premiums would have cost. And unfortunatly it's not even possible to get a catastrophic policy.

Keep telling yourself that about Trump. Obama's legacy was a joke and a failure.

I can't believe the treatment that the citizens of Puerto Rico are receiving. It seems clear to me that the current Administration view Puerto Rico as something less than second class. At the present rate of assistance they are receiving they only need to look at Haiti to glimpse what their future may look like.

It's a good thing you can't believe it Gordy because it's probably not true. Are you aware that the mayor(ette) of San Juan was praising Trump and the relief efforts for several days before she was instructed by the Democrat party to change her tune? Are you aware shipping containers jammed full of supplies are spoiling at the docks? The Puerto Rican truck drivers went on strike. They went on strike! If my statements are untrue, it should be very easy to disprove them. Have at it Gordy. The main stream media of Europe, North America and Europe are little more than propagandists for the bankers of the new world order. Like the aspiring Hollywood actresses and the successful ones who came up through the corrupt system, you must do what is necessary to be advanced. After that you must keep quiet about what is going on. Corrupt disinformationists is what they are.

He can't shut down NBC News I believe that, unlike newspapers and cable TV, NBC News broadcasts over public airwaves under FCC license. So they can be shut down by the government for just cause, but ONLY for just cause.

Thanks. I'll recheck my info. EDIT TO ADD: Your source looks good. I'll check around. If my info proves untrue, I'll admit to being duped. SECOND EDIT: It looks like my info is incorrect and yours is correct. Embarrassed.

Why doesn't Trump just send in the National Guard to drive trucks and some heavy equipment to fix the roads?

It looks like my info is incorrect It used to be that running a newspaper was a major investment. So newspapers had to be fairly accurate or nobody would read them and they would go bankrupt. But with the internet, any Tom Dick and Harry can publish their own newspaper at minimal cost. There is no more incentive to be accurate so Fake News is now common. That could ruin our country if the electorate is no longer able to distinguish real from fake news.
