“Germany shifts to the right,” was Süddeutsche Zeitung’s headline on Sunday evening, October 8th, as centre-right and right-wing parties made huge gains in state elections held in the southern state of Bavaria and the western state of Hesse. Together, the two states account for around a quarter of the German population. As we reported in our pre-election analysis, as expected, the opposition parties in the Berlin Bundestag capitalised on the weakness of the central government, led by the Social Democrats (SPD), the Greens, and the liberal FDP, as people are fed up with the mismanagement of the cost-of-living crisis, the economic effects of the war in Ukraine, and the migration crisis.

Correction: The Germans who voted for those running things now are dumb, but not all Germans voted for them. And the same holds true for the US. We didn't all vote for those who are now purposely destroying the country. And what's worse is that those who voted for them will do it again. Now that's dumb. |

Correction: The Germans who voted for those running things now are dumb, but not all Germans voted for them. And the same holds true for the US. We didn't all vote for those who are now purposely destroying the country. And what's worse is that those who voted for them will do it again. Now that's dumb. This is not correct…most people have no problems with refugees …but how bad it was handled…there are now 1,4 million Ukrainian refugees living in Germany …in one year…but at some point the cities, districts cannot handle the number in such a short time…not enough flats, teachers etc. etc. In the end… we need new citizens…as our society gets older and older… The problem with this NAZI AfD party is..they get elected because of frustration…despite most of their voters know that they are totally stupid…having no solutions…. Italys far right government got elected because they were promised with easy solutions…now they learn…there is no easy solution. Same in the US..you can build a wall..but it won‘t stop the millions in a few years…each year… because of climate change. |
