I will try talking first. That's what I said I'd do so I will. BUT I'll also let him know that his keyboard bullying bothers normal Jackie fans and is beginning to irk the Hell out of me. I don't care if he wants to wax eloquent on 'the joys of fly fishing.' That's fine. But if he posts about being big and bad and how other fans are "little men" (at the keyboard) compared to his manly self (at the keyboard) I'll let him know I'm in a deleting mood.

You reminded me of what I said, so I'll give talking a fair try.

This is the first of two PMs between my unnamed friend and me from a different series of PMs:



Well I haven't composed a PM to BG yet but I know some points I want to hit.

He talks to people like a gym rat nearing roid rage. That's the easily irritated and quick to physical solution personality of people on steroids. He'll know the term.

I will disabuse him of the notion that a PM falls in the 'man to man' category of communication.

I will remind him that all of us on any Jackie forum are at home on a keyboard just as he is.

I will remind him that non gym rats are welcome here and have as much right to their opinion as he does.

There are a few posts of his that I will copy and paste in the PM if I can do that without losing the PM.

I know you aren't signed up at Rick's forum, but perhaps you read there. If you do read there you may be aware that BG was pestering Schrodinger just before Schrodinger deleted his account. I will let BG know that he has run off some excellent posters by being a jerk-ass keyboard tough guy. That doesn't make them sissies, it just makes BG a jerk and a KEYBOARD tough guy.

I will also remind him that a true, virtuous man, is a protector of weaker people not a "I'll tromp through your garden cause I'm big and tough" sort of fellow.

I'll remind him that he has been banned from several forums and despite what he says he pretty much ruined CCUK with his boorish behavior.

These are some of the rough thoughts I have re BG's caution from me. Bear with me as I await one more infraction to hang it on.

As for ***. I'll probably just remind him to keep his posts about Jackie. I'll ask Gordy to back off responding to BG so as not to exacerbate the situation.

I PM'd socalfan, and told him I would just start calling out BG in open forum and deleting any offending posts. SCF asked me to stick with the original plan to counsel him in a PM first.

That's where things are from my standpoint.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. IF anything should work, that should, but my guess is that it will get him acting out even more, but if he gets banned and deleted in a short period of time, that will work too.

While he doesn't bother me [at least directly], his mere presence drags done the goals Socal has for this forum. I can't be bullied out of any forum, but I can be "out-dumbed'. Too much longer and I will leave also, deleting all my posts, since I don't want a permanent record of belonging to a group that would have BG [or SSW] as equal members.

By the way, he has so many posts, he is a 'senior member' or whatever, which makes his posts SEEM important to a casual observer. Please consider upping the level for senior member, or retitle that level as 'buffoon' or some such.

As a part of my making thoughtful posts [at least in my mind] is that they can be taken seriously [unless, of course, I am just pimping someone], but BG's posts drag the group IQ down below 'low functioning adult', making any effort here fruitless.

Again, these are all my gripes, but I make them because I believe many others have the same gripes, but just won't say anything, they will just fade away. I think many already have. I know Socal wants to be inclusive, but there has to be a limit. BG and *** are beyond the limit.

By the way, even though I have them both on ignore, I am peeking now to see if they are getting any better. They aren't.

Well, as you can tell from that long series of copied and pasted PM's there are thoughtful posters who would be happy to be here if not for beachyguy's presence.

I'm sorry to admit that it also shows I often don't get around to my obligations of promise.

Socalfan, BG is a forum crusher. His insecurities come through in his bullying.

His redeeming qualities of whimsy and the occasional fine observation of Jackie or another subject being discussed, are totally overwhelmed by his need to bully.

It's past time that we boot BG from this forum for being a poorly socialized jerk.

I invite any poster to refute the elements of my arguments or to defend BG as a poster who should remain in good standing. I will listen to their arguments.
