In an article that was syndicated by the NLM, Russell L. Blaylock, a retired neurosurgeon, wrote that “The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the most manipulated infectious disease events in history, characterized by official lies in an unending stream lead by government bureaucracies.”

For the first time in American history a president, governors, mayors, hospital administrators and federal bureaucrats are determining medical treatments based not on accurate scientifically based or even experience based information, but rather to force the acceptance of special forms of care and “prevention”—including remdesivir, use of respirators and ultimately a series of essentially untested messenger RNA vaccines.

If you look at the top of page 8, this exercise (complete with fictional country, as is not unheard of in some exercises, so as not to be accusatory or provocative - an unrelated example, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zendian_problem ) took place in March of 2021, even longer before the actual spread.

COVID had shown that preparedness was poor overall (certainly regarding supply chain issues for protective gear and respirators; and arguably for sufficient monitoring of lab and sample collector safety, etc; not to mention the early Chinese coverup and ban on domestic but NOT international travel), so running a multinational exercise was not an unreasonable thing to do - even if it wasn't a government-level effort but a bunch of "globalists" or random do-gooders or for all it matters, intelligent nut jobs.

Monkeypox is a reasonable candidate for an exercise, something that plausibly could happen just with one careless contact plus travel, etc: related to smallpox (thought to have been successfully eradicated, save for a very few secure samples) and cowpox (mostly a nuisance except to the immunosuppressed, the origin for what mutated into vaccinia (used as the vaccine for smallpox and monkeypox)). Smallpox fatality rate is either 1% or 30% depending on variety; monkeypox ranges from 1% (bad enough!) to 10% (very bad). It's normally carried by rodents in Africa (although it was first detected in laboratory monkeys); there have been minor outbreaks before; and nothing precludes a mutant (or engineered, as in the exercise, and then spread by carelessness+terrorism) strain from being much worse than the already bad enough (if untreated) existing strains.

FWIW, the current outbreak in Europe at least has been tenatively linked to festivals in the Canary Islands and in Antwerp, Belgium. Only one person was found to have traveled to Africa recently...but others might have had contact with someone that had but didn't attend; and given that the nature of those festivals tended to include opportunities for...close contact of the sorts that could spread the disease, that's not implausible.

The exercise was quite unlike the reality, insofar as the exercise was pretty much worst case, and the present outbreak isn't MUCH more serious than previous ones. But the choice of organism for an exercise as one that had previous outbreaks and would likely have future ones, just means that at least that feature of the exercise was intelligently chosen. In NO way does it imply that the exercise (just paperwork, phone calls, supply checks, in all probability) led to any later adverse influence on reality.

A 2003 US outbreak traced back to imported exotic animals had 71 cases, none fatal. For the current outbreak, as of 31 May, 18 cases were known in the US, and as of 30 May, 257 cases worldwide. The variety in the current outbreak is the less deadly one, about 1% if untreated. I've seen reports of 10 fatalities in Africa this year (Congo and Nigeria, i.e. in central Africa where it is endemic), and haven't in a quick search seen fatalities outside of Africa.

US stockpiles of smallpox/monkeypox vaccine have been good and added to, given the present outbreak; and a couple of at least moderately effective antiviral drugs also exist. It's possible for at least one variety of vaccine to be freeze-dried, allowing longer term storage (reducing the cost of keeping ample stocks).

Bottom line, I see nothing alarming in either exercise or outbreak. In the final, most extreme stage of the exercise, a response that could be termed global or even globalist (large, redistributive, and probably somewhat authoritarian) was implied; but that was the worst-case of multiple stages each with otherwise proportionate responses.

As for either the exercise or the actual outbreak, doubtless SOME (not by any means all in government or media or public health or even all participants in the exercise) will use any opportunity to spread fear in the pursuit of power, but that's no particular reason to be suspicious of exercises; it's not even a new normal, but a very old one, to try to create panic and ride it to power.
