Her career is doing quite well these days. Looks like she is testing the water, mostly small venues, but it will give everyone she works with a chance to learn the business and give Grace a chance to see what having her own tour really means endurance wise and just about every thing else. I doubt if Jackie would have the endurance for a tour like that it would have to be spread over several months. Grace is a smart girl and will go far the first thing she did when she got some fame was build up her social media. Her youtube channel has 3.1 million subscribers easily enough to be self promoting. But probably the most promising fact for a long term career is Jackie's OTTs said she will fade away in a year or two after AGT.

This is Grace's second head-lining tour, her first was after she released her Just the Beginning album. It sold out in about a week. It will be interesting to see ticket sales success for this tour.
Of course she has toured with Imagine Dragons last summer and with Florence and the Machine (much fewer dates) this summer.

I cannot speak for every city but sales in Philadelphia are very strong. I told my grandaughter I would get us tickets a few days after they went on sale and went through Grace's website. All the general admission tickets ($62.50 a pop) were sold out. Since I had committed myself to this misadventure, I opened wallet a little further and bought two tickets for the concert with a meet and greet at $125 each. I would love to see Jackie hire this girl's management team. Grace seems to be in good hands.

You are a good grand-dad!
Enjoy the show, and do let us know how the meet and greet goes.

Have you tried introducing her to Jackie? Your granddaughter is lucky to have a loving grandparent like you.

Have you tried introducing her to Jackie? Your granddaughter is lucky to have a loving grandparent like you. My granddaughter was 10 when she first saw Grace on AGT and has been a big fan ever since. Grace's first tour did not stop in Philly as I recall and they were on vacation when the Imagine Dragons tour made it here. This will be the first time she sees her live and when I told her about the meet and greet she started jumping up and down with excitement. I guess the standing as best grand dad ever is worth the price. She is aware of Jackie but I do understand that this is simply not "her kind of music." I get it. My parents were jazz and swing fans and they tried to get me to listen to those genres greats back in the 1960s but I would have none of it; too busy listening to the Beatles, Stones, Dylan, etc. Later I came to appreciate much of it but I had a built in resistance to it at the time. I believe you need some musical training to really appreciate a talent like Jackie in the same way you need to have some understanding of what it takes to play certain sports to appreciate a truly amazing talent. The average person might understand that in the presence of a Michael Jordan in his prime (or a Jackie) they are at another level but only someone who really understands just how outrageous is their talent will fully appreciate it. As for Grace, I think she is a great little entertainer and a rapidly maturing songwriter. A few years ago I would have said the girl needs to stop singing and keep writing but her voice has improved greatly. Now she sounds less like the little girl with the croaky voice and more like an expressive singer with a raspy voice a la Sia or Florence Welch (with whom she just apparently toured). I'm looking forward to the concert and meet and greet and if you have any questions I can ask her I'll give it a shot - time permitting.

AMG1977, I think you and your granddaughter are in for a very fun and exciting experience. Congratulations to you for making it happen!
I admire Grace's songwriting and creativity. Also, I admire the way she conducts herself. As far as I can see, she has never allowed herself to be manipulated to pretend to be someone she isn't. Even when doing interviews, she seems honest and candid. She is genuine and has stayed true to herself, which is not an easy feat in the entertainment business.
I expect that she will continue to excel as she matures into adulthood, and that she will have a long and glorious career.

Now she sounds less like the little girl with the croaky voice and more like an expressive singer with a raspy voice I agree her voice has improved but I thought her old croaky voice sounded great. It was different from other singers and it gave her character. When I read the Youtube comments, I noticed that many others found the croakiness charming too. Maybe like a female Louis Armstrong, who had an unconventional voice I also liked.

To AMG1977: I really enjoyed your last post. I moved it to the main thread (General Discussion: Entertainment) because it is as much or more about Jackie as it is about GraceV. I think others will enjoy reading it, whether or not they agree with it.
Your well reasoned posts are a valuable contribution to this forum. I look forward to more of your posts about Grace on this thread and also about Jackie on the main thread.

For those who are still wondering what the fuss is about this girl, I would suggest listening to this song:
Then get your mind around the idea that she was 13 when she composed it. I would also go to the YouTube page where it is located and read the comments:
She obviously hit home with a lot of people who are far older than her. When my granddaughter first played this for me, I was left speechless - quite an accomplishment in itself.
