A fan video of the very lively and impressive opening dance by the "Dream Team" (Maddie and Mackenzie's backup dancers for the tour). They had been in rehearsals in Sydney since June 1st in preparation for the tour, under the direction of the widely-known and respected Australian choreographer and teacher Marko Panzic.

This is the best video I've found of Kenzie singing "I Fall Apart" in Sydney (tour day two). Sounds like she was able to repair the broken string from the day before. She started teaching herself to play the ukulele only a month ago, and Sydney was the first time she performed with it in public. Also, she dropped a couple of words, not because she forgot them, but because the song lyrics contains a bit of "bad language" and she chose not to sing those words.

These are the best videos I've found of Maddie's and Kenzie's complete solos from Sydney. I recommend watching them in full-screen mode.

I don't know for sure, but to me, Kenzie's choreography looks like it may have been done by Rumer Noel. I love the song choice. I think Maddie probably choreographed her own solo, incorporating some parts from Brian Friedman.

What do you want to bet Brian Friedman isn't watching the crowds reaction to Maddie and Charlize and thinking international tour with the Outlaws and others.

The more I see from Sydney, the more impressed I am with all the advanced planning and preparation that has gone into the Maddie and Mackenzie tour - the usual logistical concerns (travel and accommodations planning, booking the venues, etc.), the design and manufacture of new merchandise, choosing and training the dance team, choreographing the show, preparing music and lighting and photography/videography, and on and on.

Not only did they create in advance the intro videos for Maddie/Mackenzie and for Maddie/Charlize, they also created separate intro videos for Maddie and for Mackenzie. I assume these videos were shown just prior to their solo performances.

Hi Richard.  As you can see, I've been pretty busy today with all the new content from the tour.  And it's only one city down - five more cities to go.

It wouldn't surprise me if Brian has some ideas, and now that the Radix season has been completed, touring might be one of them.  Of course, it could be a challenge to fit into Maddie and Kenzie's schedules.  I think Kenzie has to head straight back to LA to resume filming for Total Eclipse and to record more music.  In early August, she's going to Liverpool UK to perform for two days at a festival there.  And Maddie will be in Florida for IMG Fashion Camp.

These are some of the things that have been announced.  Who knows what else they've already scheduled.

In the spirit of current events - a throwback to 1981 and the album "Business as Usual" by the Australian band Men at Work. The lead singer and songwriter Colin Hay is a longtime family friend of Sia's family. When she was growing up, Sia called him "Uncle Collie" even though they are not related.

Colin Hay was born in Scotland and in 1967, at the age of 14, he moved with his family to Australia. In 1989, he moved to Los Angeles, where he has lived ever since. He now lives in Topanga Canyon in LA. He became an American citizen in 2016. He celebrated his 65th birthday two days ago, on Friday, June 29.

I wouldn't be the least surprised to learn that he and Maddie have been introduced.





An unusual performance posted by a YouTube channel called "Choir! Choir! Choir!": "Late in 2016, we had the honour of singing with Colin Hay, the incredible talent behind Australian 80s band Men At Work. Hundreds came out to learn our backups to his smash hit "Overkill" at Brooklyn's The Hall At MP. We rehearsed the parts and then Colin came out to sing lead. And then he gave a private concert for everyone in the room."

Yes but if he planed a European tour starting right now it probably would be several month before it could happen. Brian Friedman could probably put together one heck of a dream team. All of the outlaws with Maddie are excellent
dancers with big fan base them selves, Sean Lew & Kaycee Rice already are making a big hit on "The World of Dance".

Good points, Richard. It takes time to put a tour together, and if it happens, it will be announced several months before the tour begins. In the meantime, I keep hoping to see a press release from Sia announcing when the new movie is going to come out.

In the Sydney Q&A session, one of the questions asked was "What do you think has been your biggest achievement and accomplishment so far?"

Kenzie said that for her, it was touring with Johnny and Lauren Orlando.

Maddie said that it was the movie she filmed with Sia last year. She said she learned a lot from working with Kate Hudson and Leslie Odom, Jr. She said she couldn't talk specifics, but in response to being asked when it's coming out, she said, "definitely next year".
