While anything is possible, and I acknowledge that it is possible, I find it HIGHLY unlikely that god, or gods, are real. "God", or "Gods", have always been man's attempt to fill in the knowledge gap to explain what is unknown to them at the time. i.e. Cavemen didn't understand how thunderstorms worked, so they decided it must be gods fighting in the clouds. Plus, who doesn't want to be immortal in some form? A lot of wishful thinking in play there as well. To keep this on topic, Jackie is awesome. There. lol

I would take it that you think that there is no God so were you insane or insincere when you said that there is no God? That's all I have to say.

Even if there is a god, I believe all religions are man made bunk. To each his own though...believe what you want. Just don't preach to me.

I don't mock you for believing in something you can't possibly know exists, so don't mock others for not believing, or acknowledging that they don't know. Grow up. I'm not mocking anyone, just pointing out that there is a God. weather you believe it or not, God is real.

But since you asked, it's an unknowable thing, so it always comes down to the ol' faith based argument...which is of course circular logic that gets you nowhere. But to each his own. Believe what you want if it makes you happier or helps you get through life. Since you asked, just saying in my opinion is a fantastical claim with no convincing evidence to support it at all. Possible? Sure. But it just seems very unlikely to me. I'd love to be wrong though. lol

“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”
~ Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion
God is a fiction. Kill your god, be free.

Since you asked, just saying in my opinion is a fantastical claim with no convincing evidence to support it at all. So you would say it isn't a fantastical claim at all that there was suddenly a Big Bang somewhere in the universe and all types of matter spewed out, one of those pieces being earth? Then a one celled creature magically appeared and developed into all sorts of various different sea and land dwelling creatures, flying creatures, insects, etc, millions of species with fantastic and amazing shapes, colors and abilities? Sure, that sounds realistic. LOL! My own opinion: I believe a higher power, or more than one, that is very far beyond our simple understanding, at some point had a significant creative influence on this planet. Where he or they came from, I don't know. I suspect possibly from a completely different dimension, with our dream world when we sleep being a potential bridge to that dimension. I think to our minute understanding, we are living in a puzzle with a lot of missing pieces, but at one time, there was a definite whole picture, and still is if all of the pieces could be recovered. So I will honestly say I don't know for certain, but I do think God exists, God being a superior power to us. But I don't think he created all of the universes and then retired after creating earth to sit on a cloud and answer human requests for the rest of his days. Not sure where that came from.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. (Carl Sagan, I think) I'll trust scientists like Einstein and Penrose to get closer to the answer to "fantastical" claims than I would a theologian.
