Grace shared an update on Instagram after her trip to New York for her photoshoot for Fault Magazine. Sounds like she had a bit of trouble navigating the airport for the first time on her own as an adult 😅 I missed a flight on one of the first trips I ever made on my own, and had to spend the night at LAX with no money in my pocket. Grace probably isn't kicking herself as hard as I was but hopefully the lesson will stick. She has never seemed like someone who would need her hand held for long, but it didn't surprise me to hear that she made the same mistake twice. Yeah Grace has definitely always been an independent type. I'm sure she'll remember this experience well and be more prepared in the future. |

you never attack the artist the forum is about. SIMS...with the divergent opinions on this discussion board...to have pretty much everyone disagree with you so often should at some point trigger an "ah ha" moment in your brain that says, "Hey, mabye everyone else isn't always wrong, mabye it's me" lol
Remember this is not a rational being we are dealing with here but "what color is the sky in your world" Sims. He looks at the fact that people from all different viewpoints (fans and not fans, approve and disapprove of Jackie's parents past management of her career, etc.) come to the same conclusion and it triggers something alright! Sims comes to the "obvious" conclusion ....
WE ARE ALL THE SAME PERSON!!!! 
Although I, like you, might be tempted to believe Sims is trolling, his past behavior when discussing Jackie and his clearly cherished status as a believer in the one true over the top faith (St. Jackie of the Three Rivers) leads me to think he ends up convincing himself of the stuff he blathers here on a regular basis. |

Looks like Sims has returned for another go at rewriting history on the fly. Yawn, but I guess in volunteering to answer the lunacy that is Sims I hope to work off some of the bad karma I've surely accumulated in the years working as a statistical analyst for marketing campaigns. I am going to break this up in pieces just so people can decide just how much of Sims' delusions they wished to be exposed to in one sitting. First of all, there is the repeated insistence that everyone here who does not agree with Sims' rosy interpretation of the current state of Jackie's career must all be the same person. It doesn't matter that all of the people who are supposedly the same have differing views, differing opinions on Jackie, differing opinions on Jackie's parents, differing views on Jackie's career trajectory, differing opinions on Jackie's potential for success in a different genre. It doesn't matter that they have different favorites among other artists discussed here. It doesn't matter that they have widely different senses of humor. It doesn't matter that their knowledge of pop culture and the current recording industry vary greatly. It doesn't matter that all of these attributes were in place long before he was a regular on this board. For Sims, that is evidence there is a plot to throw everyone off.

But be careful...in short time you could facing a life long sentence in some states for having contraceptives in it...on the other end...every sudden holiday by a ..Republican daughters will be full of speculation...all the sudden NY trips...or perhaps to Europe. |

Next let's tackle the whole issue of my supposedly threatening Skyboy Sims. Now anyone who actually has read the exchange realizes the level of absurdity that Sims that he has sunk to already, but apparently after hitting rock bottom last time, he now got out the jackhammers to dig deeper:
First he said he was going to give me a "beating", so rather then just apologize he doubles down and says that if I met him that I would be "annihilated" I will not bother to repeat myself since I have already wasted enough time on it but anyone can read my original comment here and my responses to his absurd retorts here and here. I'm comfortable to let people come to their own conclusions.
Apparently, the OTT thinking has seeped so deep into Sims psyche that he is incapable of processing concepts like metaphor and gets triggered by my mentioning beating him in a battle of wits (not a great accomplishment as he is unarmed) or joking references to the standard model of particle physics. Too bad but Skyboy should realize that this is supposed to be based upon the wild west commenting of the old Amazon forums where it was closer to forums on Reddit than to anything remotely resembling a fan page. If poor Skyboy needs a safe space, he should move on to some Jackie fan forum on Facebook or on Rick's page. I am certain Rick would be happy to discuss his cats with Sims. However, that might backfire if Rick mentions anything about claws and Skyboy gets triggered.

Next Skyboy Sims attempts to rewrite the history of the CC Grammy award exchange. You will notice that in rehashing these past exchanges, Skyboy does not link to any of the past posts as evidence. He can't because he is a pathological liar. Or perhaps its better to say he pathologically avoids reality. If he actually looked back at the exchanges, he would have to face the fact that he has been wrong on everything and everyone here knows it. So let's take a look at Sims' latest attempt at rewriting history. He was very upset that he lost the argument with me on the CC Grammy accusing me of saying, "Sims stated that only instrumentalists were eligible". I never said "only instrumentalists were eligible". Just for context, the whole exchange began with Chris R egging Skyboy on by asking what he thought of Emily Bear winning a Grammy (see here) and Sims answered:
This is gaslighting also belittling Jackie who hasnt recieved a Grammy, which is one of the troll talking points. Ive pointed out that Jackie was considered among Grammy experts for the Best New Artist Grammy in 2011, but that they wouldnt award Grammy's to anyone who was around 11, not even Justin Bieber. There was never a CC Vocalist Grammy, it was only instrumental. (see here)
First of all, you should notice that Chris R was not belittling Jackie - he was belittling Sims as well as his fellow OTTs. Now the only part of this I was answering was the final sentence about the CC Grammy. Sims states there the CC Grammy was only instrumental. It's right there in his own words. There is nothing about Bocelli or anyone else. Sims claims the CC Grammy was only instrumental. The fact is that there was only one CC Grammy and that was for best CC Album. It was open to vocalists and instrumentalists.
Sins goes on:
I stated that Bocelli was nominated for Best New Artist in 1999, which was the year the category was added. He was not nominated for the CC Grammy (Yo Yo Ma was). Neither was Pavarotti, Brightman, Groban who even appeared at the Grammys. You mistakenly proved me right on a number of points.
You never said anything in your post about Bocelli or anyone else as anyone can go and see for themselves. You are simply lying or perhaps deluded yourself into thinking you did state it. I think everyone can see why I openly wonder what the color the sky is in your world (hence your new name "Skyboy").
That should be enough on this topic to show why Skyboy is a logical train wreck. Reading Sims' posts makes me feel like this poor guy:

Next, let's take a look at Skyboy Sims regularly insults other young female artists. In his mind, it is all a zero sum game and is viewed as taking away from Jackie's potential success. Thus he tries to minimize any success any of them had with insults. I and most rational people think that is ridiculous as, for example, one can admire different young female singers without thinking they are threats to each other. I, for example, can listen to Jackie, Grace Vanderwaal, and Billie Eilish without feeling threatened for any of them. Even for those I do not think as highly of such as Emily Bear (for her vocals/pop music), Tate McRae and Olivia Rodrigo, I certainly acknowledge they are highly talented young women and I admire their work ethic . Even for someone like JoJo Siwa who at best has the bare minimum of musical talent, she can be applauded for her hard work and intelligence in marketing herself. The success of one girl does not take away from the success of others except in the minds of their OTTs.
You will notice that Skyboy referred to Gap fans - this being a reference to a slight gap in Grace Vanderwaal's front teeth. He has also referred to her as a bipolar brat, a moppet, and made insults about her ukulele playing. He has similarly tossed out insults at Maddie Ziegler, Emily Bear, and others. Of course, all of these things backfire on him as I and others have pointed out how Jackie is far more vulnerable to such treatment. For example, in the case of insults he tossed at Grace, these are the facts:
1. Grace has been very forthcoming about having some mental health issues but then so has Jackie. One could just as easily refer to Jackie as Sims' "anorexic angel" among other potential insults. My calling him Skyboy is in part to give this aging OTT a taste of his own medicine. I don't however, expect he will ever get the point.
2. His referring to Grace and other young female performers as "moppets" is really amusing as the term "moppet" is used to refer to a small child. Grace, for example, gives very adult opinions and often seemed to carry herself as an adult when she was still in her mid-teens. She did a nearly hour long interview with Zach Sang when she had just turned 15 that showed her to be far more mature then than Jackie has ever been. She has lived on her own since she was 17 and travels on her own. Jackie, due to both her mental health issues and her never having had been raised to see herself with any sense of autonomy, still needs her father to take her by the hand to places as if she were five years old. So who exactly is the moppet??
3. When Grace first appeared on AGT, she came with a very inexpensive ukulele that she had only been playing for about a year. It was not a professional quality instrument and her playing was competent but nothing more. After a few years of touring, performing, learning the guitar (a gift from Shawn Mendes), and rehearsing and practicing with a band of top flight professional session musicians, she had become very good on both instruments. So when Sims insults her playing now, it is pretty clear he hasn't a clue. In fact, when Fender decided to begin a line of ukuleles, they chose Grace as the first artist to have a signature ukulele and the youngest ever Fender signature artist. She ended up with two signature ukes (one professional quality and one for casual playing) and this turned out to be a brilliant move by Fender. The ukulele has become the go to first instrument for young girls due to a significant degree by the viral success of Grace's AGT performances. By comparison, I have not seen any comparable attempt at mastering an instrument by Jackie. Grace's songwriting improved dramatically as she gained instrumental prowess and I certainly think this plays a role in Jackie's inability to write songs.
I should also mention that, even before Grace's success, Billie Eilish and Tate McRae both learned the ukulele and wrote songs on it. After the success of Grace's ukes, Fender went and signed Billie for a signature uke as well. Maybe Tate will get one eventually. I mention this as the uke is a fairly easy instrument to get competent on quickly and perhaps Jackie should give it a shot and try putting chords together for a song.
4. Any insults Sims directs at the appearance of Grace or other young women only exhibits his own insecurities. It is pretty obvious that all of these young women (Grace, Jackie, Maddie, etc.) are attractive but Sims still feels the need to insult the appearance of those not named Jackie. The reason is simple: the others have had success based upon their attractiveness to a wide audience that Jackie has never achieved. Grace and Maddie have been signed to the IMG Modeling agency since their early teens. Maddie is becoming a force in the fashion world and, although Grace has not emphasized that aspect of her career, she has modeled for Marc Jacobs and Chanel among others. She is not a runway model but what they call a celebrity placement model. Designers hire celebrities who they think will look good in their clothing and they dress them up in items from the previous years' collection to view this years' collection and talk up the line to the press. Grace did it for Marc Jacobs a few times and then Chanel hired her for a show in New York.
It went so well they they hired her to do the same for fashion week in Paris.
You know stuff like this infuriates Skyboy. Why I can imagine him seething as he views the video above.  The reaity is that placement jobs like this require you to be able to articulate the designer's message to the public in interviews. You also need to walk the red carpet with confidence while you follow the photographers' request for poses. I cannot imagine Jackie doing that even as an adult while Grace did it near flawlessly at 14.
With all of Jackie's dreams of empire building, she does not seem to know how to get it done. Maddie obviously does know how. Grace does not seem as interested in that but obviously could if she wanted it. Until recently, Jackie had no one in her corner who had a clue how to pull this off. Since Jackie now has Christina Turrino helping her (who definitely knows how the game is played), she might have a better shot once her mental health issues are stabilized. We can already see a dramatic improvement in the quality of the photos Jackie is releasing on Instagram.
It is a misnomer that you have to be a "teen star" to get these gigs. You just need even a minor degree of fame and be able to present yourself as confident and attractive and someone will hire you to sit in the front row of their fashion show. There are people with varying degrees of fame who with various audiences who get these jobs. Now, the degree of their fame and the wider appeal of their audience may determine how prestigious the designer who hires you and how much they pay. Obviously, getting the nod from Chanel was a feather in the cap for Grace. Jackie or any other potential placement model won't get that for a first job but if you prove yourself capable, the fashion community all know each other and capable people find themselves with whatever work they need.
