Donk, I think the similarities you're hearing between Jackie's song and "Ave Maria" / "Please Come Home for Christmas" are in the rhythm only. They're all built on triplets in 2/4 time. I don't know about chord progressions, but they don't sound the same. There's some similarity with the initial bars of of Ave Maria, but that's where it ends. To my ear the song sounds new, but the beat is common. I don't think that rhythm pattern would be off limits to any songwriter.

LoL....that had occurred to me, so I listened to them again to make sure, but no..those Ave Marie chords are the same chords...you cant get around it. Listen to one intro, then the other....of the videos that I posted to compare them. And listen to the chorus of Jackie's song, then the chorus of the Eagles song. Very similar melodies. I noticed the similarity immediately, and as soon as I heard Jackie's song I thought, "wait, this sounds just like a famous Xmas song that I like"...and others here said it sounded familiar too. Sorry, I support Jackie's song writing, and she sings this beautifully, but there's really just no getting around it. Now am I saying she (or whoever put together this melody) deliberately stole it? No, not necessarily at all...but that could be how they came up with it...it was a tune in their head from the past that they thought they came up with. The two songs aren't completely identical of course, but the chorus part...come on. lol The Ave Maria notes...yes, whoever put this music together knew exactly what they were doing there...it's too clear, too deliberate, esp. with Jackie's history with that song and the fact the song begins with it. I don't think adding the Ave Marie chords is necessarily bad, I've seen artists do that sort of thing (See Barry Manilow with Could it be Majic...he begins that song with a little Chopin, but he fully acknowledges it), just not very original. lol Hey, original song writing is tough...have you ever tried it, just for fun? Sometimes you think you come up with a pretty original melody, only to realize later that someone else has already written it and you didn't actually come up with it yourself like you thought, but instead your brain was remembering the melody from the past. Then of course there are the music writing geniuses who can come up with an original melody in five minutes or in their sleep. lol

Hey "Donk" - I tried to drop you a clue in my earlier post. Your song is at the mark where the video begins here. Hey, look at you Fake Santa, you found it before I did, although it was buried in there wasn't it? lol Nice job!!!!

JE is at the bottom of the barrel slowly trying to work her way back up. Absolutely wrong. That is not an "actual fact". She has the same publicist that DF/KM and Pia Toscano have. I would have loved if she had performed her original Christmas song on national TV and then had it available for streaming. She very likely had that song written with those songwriters in Nashville, which was a long time ago, Simsy. No excuse for not being able to market it and release it for Christmas in all that time. That is, if it was any good. I suspect the main writers presented it to some record execs who determined it was junk. Then they told Jackie in the last few days that she could just do what she wants with it, so she posted it on her Instagram and you went wild. Im not going wild, I think its good. I wish it was a video. Jackie has said she has a perfectionist streak in her as well. The story about OHN being recorded in a few days I dont think is the case with adult Jackie. Its probably multiple factors involved. I suggested months ago on here that she should get in the studio and record a Christmas song. So hopefully the next song is marketed. Im not being critical of Terry Fator whos a huge talent, but are people really paying to hear that? But I think as long as he has a contract, it doesn't matter. I know Jackie had a pretty decent year and its no surprise that the best attended shows were in mild weather, not too hot or too cold because her fan base is older. That being said 2023 there has to be a big push. TV is a must.

You've said that about Jackie too and you are greatly mistaken. It won't matter for this contract but it will matter very much for the next contract. Jackie's poor ticket sales may not matter for the City Winery tour but it will matter greatly for the next tour. In fact, it may be the reason why there isn't a next tour so far.

If Pittsburgh only had 50 percent attend and another 30 in comps, which would mean hundreds of free tickets given away in theory how come the Winery shows werent ticketed specifically Boston or DC? Ive heard the ticketing theory going back to 2012. Its really just not about giving credit where its due. The spam played a Radio Shack this year. Im sure the Spam was paid in beer money whether anyone attended and bought batteries. Im confident Jackie made in the six figures this year from the 13 shows. Shes had nearly 200 gigs and has done very well over the years. However she specifically said she wants to work on her album of originals.

Im confident Jackie made in the six figures this year I'm confident in that too, Simsy. But there's a decimal point before the last two figures. LOL!

how come the Winery shows werent ticketed specifically Boston or DC? What makes you think Boston and DC were not ticketed? I have already explained why seat maps must be accurate if there are online sales because if seat maps are not accurate, seats will be double sold. But it is possible that online sales ended an hour or two before the show started and then the tickets sold after online sales ended would not be reflected in the seat maps. But we know that online sales in Pittsburgh continued until the end. So if attendance was 75%, then either there were 300 free tickets or the estimates were inaccurate due to optical illusion or both.

At Least I'll Have Santa - Lyrics
It's coming on Christmas sang Joni I'll be home said Bing And all these holiday melodies Are ones we used to sing
It's beautiful this time of year And snowflakes bring a kind of cheer What's standing in my memory clear Is having those I love right here
Chorus
I won't lie and say I wouldn't love to unwrap you on Christmas day But I'm all right at least I'll have Santa to visit me tonight
I can see the Christmas lights Without your hand in mine And Jacklyn's (?) stocking's lonely But one will do just fine
And I can hang a ribbon With mistletoe above But I won't feel so lonesome Cos I've got myself to love
Chorus
Chorus
