"Mabye" I would. Only one way to find out. Well, looks like a date. Two good buds going to a Jackie Evancho concert, not that there’s anything wrong with that. Wink Wink. 😍

It just backs up my theory that these venues were not in her demographic So why is Jackie singing in venues that are not in her demographic? It must be because she had no choice - she got no offers from venues that were in her demographic. I think it's because the City Winery shows are similar to 54 Below and Jackie has said that she loves 54 Below.
Here's a quote from an interview:
"Evancho will start off her tour in New York City at the iconic 54 Below. she will play two shows on September 13 and 14. The rest of the shows will be with City Winery starting in October. “I am so excited for 54 Below,” she said. “I’ve been really wanting this to be the best that it can possibly be. It will be a fun, easygoing night that will have the classic Jackie songs and the Joni songs. I love it so much there because I can see everybody.”
“The City Winery shows are going to be similar to the 54 Below shows but a bit expanded. It will be a similar show and nobody will feel left out and that’s important to me,” she said."

Accomplishment is NOT sales, views, or contemporary accolades. Accomplishment is (aside from what can be measured with lab instruments) what will be remembered in a couple of generations. That's seldom clear for anyone merely in their 20's or below, even if they have gained short-term fame. My point exactly. Matteo doesn't qualify by any standard: not sales, not views, not contemporary accolades, not generations of acclaim. So successors are born successful? Strange, I thought a lot of them spent a long time barely noticed before succeeding.

So if I've got this right, the 54 Below show was the kickoff to the City Winery "expanded" rest of the tour? I hadn't given much thought to the planned-out aspect of this tour. It was from the beginning a scaled-down lower-expectation effort to start small and (hopefully?) scale back up to previous levels of fame. Jackie and company were putting their best ideas forward in light of some level of realization that things had ground to a near-halt.
It's not a bad strategy if you take into account a kind of clueless optimism. I mean, JE Touring didn't exactly have a major label's ability to apply market research to come up with a realistic "State of the JME Career" analysis, so what else can you do but put all available minds together and come up with a recovery strategy. The problem is, the minds that came together were all somehow under the same notion that this strategy would make everything right – that the Jackie magic would re-ignite, and ticket sales would herald the return and rebirth.. blah blah blah.
I'm sorry, this comes down in my mind to a mom-and-pop operation hiring the best thing they could afford in an effort to restore cash flow. It has an air of desperation to it, but also a quaint and innocent reminiscence of a time when good fortune seemed to be as naturally granted to Jackie (and parents) as the air we breathe. It was a good effort, but it's back to the drawing board for this company.

So successors are born successful? Strange, I thought a lot of them spent a long time barely noticed before succeeding. By that logic, I'm a successor to Andrea Bocelli. I'm still in the barely noticed phase of my career. You're a successor too. A successor needs a breakthrough to be deemed a credible successor. Like when teenager Billie Eilish's first album debuted at #1 on Billboard 200. It was a sign of great promise. Like when another teen, Olivia Rodrigo, released "Drivers License" which debuted at #1 on Billboard Hot 100 and went on to break another Spotify record for the first song in history to hit 80 million streams in 7 days. Matteo's only talent so far is riding on his father's coattails. It doesn't mean he cannot be a superstar in the future but I think it is unlikely given that he is in the dying* CC genre. * Jackie is the only American CC vocal soloist that could be considered a viable successor to Bocelli and Brightman (who are admittedly not American). With 100+ solo headlining concerts, Jackie is miles ahead of everyone else. But she peaked a decade ago and has been in decline ever since. Groban abandoned the genre years ago and Jackie is now attempting to do so with an album of original songs.

I think it's because the City Winery shows are similar to 54 Below and Jackie has said that she loves 54 Below. But it looks like Jackie is now abandoning her COT tour entirely after only a few months. She's giving it up to work on an album of originals.

Jackie has "toured" a total of about 2.5 weeks in the six months since the new album released (including Jan and Feb with nothing booked), and she's talked about (and her label has mentioned) her writing original songs in 2023. Wil she do any shows this spring? I certainly would have thought so...but mabye not? Time will tell.

With 100+ solo headlining concerts, Jackie is miles ahead of everyone else. But don't forget, people didn't go to any of those concerts to see a bona fide CC singer, they went to see a circus freak who parroted opera songs. Whether you want to argue that Lisa implied she was a circus freak or that only the public thought that way, it is still true that the public thought that way. They went to see the 10 year old parrot who could mimic opera songs and was getting big news coverage as America's answer to Susan Boyle. Then they lost interest in the parrot and moved on after a couple of years. A handful of OTT cultists have hung on through the decline, but their numbers are dwindling due to old age. So she isn't miles ahead of anyone. The circus left town years ago.
