With 100+ solo headlining concerts, Jackie is miles ahead of everyone else. But don't forget, people didn't go to any of those concerts to see a bona fide CC singer, they went to see a circus freak who parroted opera songs. Whether you want to argue that Lisa implied she was a circus freak or that only the public thought that way, it is still true that the public thought that way. They went to see the 10 year old parrot who could mimic opera songs and was getting big news coverage as America's answer to Susan Boyle. Then they lost interest in the parrot and moved on after a couple of years. A handful of OTT cultists have hung on through the decline, but their numbers are dwindling due to old age. So she isn't miles ahead of anyone. The circus left town years ago. Circus freak? LoL...I don't think so. They went to see the pretty, sweet little girl with the voice like an angel, remember? That's hardly going to see a circus freak, unless you think all entertainers are circus freaks. But a lot of your analysis is correct, if you just lose the negative "circus freak" talk. It would give you more credibility instead of just looking like you have an anti-Jackie agenda. It's hardly the same as going to see the bearded lady or two headed cat at the circus out of morbid curiousity. lol

That was previously determined already. Even going by the argument that she was referring to the public's perception, she used the term. I am just repeating it.

I guarantee she didn't refer to her daughter as a circus freak. lol If she used a poorly worded analogy to describe how the public viewed her and it included the word circus, well, Lisa has said a lot of things on FB over the years that weren't great, like referring to Jackie as "our golden goose" (she's your daughter, not your golden ticket to the good life)... that was cringe IMO.

As I said, even if she was referring to the public's perception, she used the circus term. So I am quite entitled to repeat it without permission from you, thanks. This was discussed a couple of weeks ago and Socal Fan posted the quote. I am not looking for it. If you have Alzheimer's, go see a doctor.

Yes, and you are also quite entitled to be called out when you incorrectly quote her. She didn't call her a "circus freak", or say that anyone perceived her as a "circus freak". As you know, "freak" has a very negative connotation, and might put her on par with a three legged dog. She had a gorgeous voice...is that a freak? I suppose you could call her a freak of nature. lol I think you added the word "freak" yourself, which is where you went wrong. I also think she said flavor of the month in some way too, although in Jackie's case, it was more flavor of several years. lol

Okay, I stand corrected there in that she thinks some fans look at it that way. But like I said, Lisa has said inappropriate things a number of times - and why would you quote that if you disagree with it...sounded to me like you agreed with it, which makes my point the same that she's not that. And I think its quite hilarious you calling me a "deluded fool" when you clearly have disillusioned former Jackie fan-itus and miss no opportunity to rip her a new one, sometimes fairly, sometimes unfairly. I'm may be a fan, but I'm pretty objective I think. I point out all her career accomplishments as well as her failures. You pretty much just call out her failures.

A handful of OTT cultists have hung on through the decline, but their numbers are dwindling due to old age. So she isn't miles ahead of anyone. The circus left town years ago. In the 4 years since Jackie turned 18, her small-girl-big-voice days were long behind her but she continued to headline dozens of concerts (it would have been a lot more without Covid). I fully agree that her career is greatly diminished as an adult but to the best of my knowledge, she is still the only American CC solo vocalist regularly headlining concerts in the US in the last 4 years. That puts her way ahead of her peers. Of course, there is no guarantee she will continue to give concerts; after all, CC is a dying genre.

It means that it's not common. In fact Julie Andrews once used the term freak or freakish to refer to extraordinary vocal range as a child and I doubt that she meant it in a negative way.

But thanks for repeating it. LoL Although, "Circus freak" has a bit more negative connotation than "freak of nature". She wasn't being very complimentary to Jackie's fans, saying they were there to see a circus freak. Jackie would sing, with incredible tone. She was a young singer, not a circus freak, and I don't think most fans thought of her in that way, IMO. Let's be honest, when you call someone a circus freak today, it's not meant as a compliment. It's meant as an insult.

I'm not about to find the interview where SHE said it, but her voice is described as freakish here: www.imdb.com/name/nm0000267/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm

What do you mean by her peers if you are talking about under 25 year old celebrities entertainers then she is at the bottom. If you are talking about under 25 year old celebrity singers she is still at the bottom. Now if you are talking about under 25 year old American CC artist than she is at the top. About like being the top in underwater basket weaving.

What do you mean by her peers ... Now if you are talking about under 25 year old American CC artist than she is at the top. About like being the top in underwater basket weaving. Would Anastasia be a peer? The context is the successor to Bocelli and Brightman, so I am referring to CC vocalists. Jackie is clearly at the top, but, as you say, it is like being the tallest dwarf. Anastasia, a fellow CC singer, is definitely a peer. I believe Anastasia sings occasionally but it is not her primary source of income. Jackie is one of the very very few Americans who can make a living as a CC singer. And we don't know for how much longer.
