I think it's definitely a long shot. But seems to me a former "hit song writer on one album 20 years ago" is better than a "never has written a hit song writer". Jackie will take what she can get, and it will be interesting to see what they came up with. long odds of success aside. How is it that Jackie gets a writer that hasn't been successful in 20 years and Kenzie's friends Dylan Conrique gets Max Martin to help with her original "Birthday Cake" and Alexis Jayde gets Finneas (Billie Eilish and her brother, Finneas, collaborate on songwriting. Finneas writes for Eilish's albums, produces her music, and also performs in live shows . He also performed on live shows with Lexi Jayde.
I don't know much at all about those people, but Jackie is former child singer with apparently few connections in the industry and a career that is in bad shape. Hey, mabye she should call David Foster ask him to help her write some songs...for old times sake. lol Except this time all jazzed up and fresh material.

Isn't it interesting how Colty posts all kinds of nonsense every day, far worse than Beachguy or anyone else, with most posts being directed at other posters. Yet the only time Socal Fan comes along and deletes a few posts is when someone posts something back at Colty. Then he deletes that post and a couple of Colty posts that triggered it. While doing nothing about all of the other many posts every day. This fool should have been banned long ago or confined to a different section. But I do have to hand it to Colty in one sense...he runs this forum now. Colt46 is really Socal Fan. How about the biggest twist of all? Colt is really Beachguy.

I am much less optimistic. Here's why. As far as I can tell (and please correct me if I am wrong) Greg Camp has not written any songs or albums that have appeared on any significant Billboard chart since 2003. That was when he wrote songs for the Smash Mouth album "Get the Picture?". He wrote songs for the Smash Mouth 2006 album "Summer Girl" but it did not chart. He also released a 2008 album "Defektor" but it also did not chart. Bottom line: Greg Camp has had no songwriting success in the last 2 decades. If he cannot write successful songs for himself, is there any reason to think he can help Jackie write songs for herself?
If we are talking about Jackie having a chart topping album or some other sign of stardom, then you are correct - that is unlikely to happen. The optimism is from not setting expectations to unrealistic levels. All one can hope from Greg Camp and Jackie is that their combination can come up with some good songs and produce an album that is capable of carving out a niche in a very fragmented landscape. If there is a good artistic effort, then there is a definite path to carve out an audience. This doesn't mean instant chart success but picking up a new audience to build upon. I am not expecting miracles here but just a fresh start.
But why wait until her album comes out to start gaining some younger aged fans, she should be doing it now. We both have mentioned several shows she could be on.
Like the Zach Sang Show some of the following mentioned on this site that has been on his show. Grace Vanderwaal, Kenzie Ziegler, Zara Larson, Madison Beer, Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, Dylan Conrique, Ariana Grande, Sia, Billie Eilish, Lindsey Stirling or get on some of the other talk shows that her age group listen to.

Richard, have you gotten into the OTT Koolaid cupboard? Put down that glass! LOL. You know very well that she is not popular or likeable to people her age and she is not popular enough for those shows to even be interested in her. They want to book people who give them ratings. She's a has been who won the lotto almost 13 years ago now, that doesn't cut it anymore. No way is she going to be a hit with people her age, if that were going to happen, it would have happened after TMS. No reason for it to happen now or ever.

Not only that, but Camp is mostly busy with his own recently formed group with some artists from other past bands. www.thedefiantofficial.com/They have a debut album coming out this year and plan on touring. Do you honestly think he wouldn't have kept any good songs for their own album, if he thought he had any with potential? In all likelihood, Jackie is just getting some leftovers that didn't make the cut for their album. It looks to me that she's a side project for him, just some extra cash, that's all. Not this big mentorship and Jackie being his main focus like OTTs are dreaming.

Of course she is a side project for him...he has his own career. Jackie's label's new mission statement is to help develop and nurture young talent, like Jackie. Camp is basically doing the same thing with her. It's her material about her own life. He's helping her put it together. He is a song writing mentor of sorts.

Sounds like some flunky double talk in order to qualify for some equally flunky government grant or similar handout. It's her material about her own life. He's helping her put it together. In that case, I hope he is able to keep a straight face when he tries to convince her it's good.

This is nothing but JDS mumbo jumbo.

Great, she has two professionals helping her create and produce her songs. And in all fairness, I dont think we know the extent of how much either of these people has helped Jackie with which aspects of her song writing. "The only person known" ...known by who...us? LoL..how much do we really know though?
