Times are changing, the way people listen to music has completely changed, with youtube being the biggest outlet for music.
That being said what better way to distribute and make music videos than have a youtube TV company produce and promote their own stars by making or supporting music videos since they already have the equipment, producer and actors. That seems to be exactly what BRAT TV is doing. They worked with Universal Music Canada to recently produce Johnny Orlando and Mackenzie "What if Video" since they are both on their shows now. They also produce Annie LeBlanc's music videos as she has been one of their main stars. A little background on Annie LeBlanc
Annie is growing as an actor and has a very large fan base. Unfortunately her fans and Mackenzie's sometimes are vary hostile toward the other celebrity especially now that Mackenzie has her own BRAT series along with many of her friends.
That will put a lot of artist like Jackie at a disadvantage when they are making music videos and have to hire a director and actors and build a set.

This is what I mean when I say you have to have around a million youtube subscribers for your music video's to be self promoting unless it is something spectacular. Alex & Sierra winners of the X-Factor Dec. 2013 received a music contract.
Under Simon's label they produced "Little do you Know"
Annie LeBlanc & Hayden Summerall made a cover of their song 3 years later on Annie's youtube channel which has over 3 million subscribers and just by self promotion isn't far from over taking the original made by Simon's label.
