No post the votes after that year’s competition is over! It would be interesting how far apart the votes were!

If America got talent wanted Jackie or who ever to win they would win. It in the contract that AGT has the right to disregard any votes and can decide at their discretion who wins. It's in here somewhere. www.scribd.com/document/134719192/AGT-Contract Whoever gets the most votes wins...it's really simple. I've seen no credible accusations or evidence that AGT cheats in order to obtain a certain outcome. Every time they have some big sob story on it is cheating if it really is supposed to be a talent show.

I agree....I've never liked it. Gives them an unfair advantage on a show that is supposed to be about talent.

I agree....I've never liked it. Gives them an unfair advantage on a show that is supposed to be about talent. In the Book Inside AGT Michael Grimm was asked a question about fallout from Jackie fans after he won. "Jackie has two types of fans: the ones that are devoted to her and the ones that are against Michael Grimm. I get those people who come to me all the time, but I stop them. I say, '... This wasn't supposed to be like this. We are artists. We aren't supposed to be competing with each other.' It never was supposed to be a competition. There are people and players in this business who make it that. It is not the artists who do it.' ..."I think he was being honest, albeit naive. I'm sure he understood that his sob story would garner some sympathy from the audience and get him votes, but I don't think he ever considered it a way to gain advantage over other artists individually, especially when it came to a personal face-off with sweet and endearing Jackie, who had become his friend. This is the main reason I don't like these shows anymore. Real people (some less real than others) with real dreams are pitted against one another in a death match. I would probably watch the same kind of circus lineup if the format was more like Ed Sullivan, where no one is competing with anyone else.

I have no problem with competition...it makes everyone better. Someone has to win, someone has to lose. Welcome to life, and especially welcome to the entertainment industry. I get that someone like Grimm was naive and not using a sob story for votes. But I think some on the show have indeed had that motive. But even that is irrelevant...it shouldn't be a factor. But human emotions being what they are, people are affected by a good sob story. AGT should just tell contestants to leave sob stories out during the competition...however, they won't because they are good for ratings. A story I just read about Grimm said he didn't expect to win AGT, and really didnt even want to win. He was just hoping to last a couple of rounds so that he could get some national exposure. He has social anxiety, especially in large groups, and hates many things that come with fame. I don't blame him for anything at all...he just did his thing and answered the questions posed to him about his life. If they want to have a show called "America's Most Inspirational Acts", then they can allow sob stories and stories of how people overcame obstacles in life. lol It just make me cringe when some acts beat more talented people because they are getting sympathy votes...it's just not right in a talent show.

If he didn’t want to win ,why did Grimm enter the competition?

The main reason to go on AGT is to get noticed by the public at large, you don’t have to win 🥇 to achieve that!

Gives them an unfair advantage on a show that is supposed to be about talent. I agree but AGT has never been about talent - it's been about ratings. Thry want the people who will bring in an untapped audience or are jumping on an emerging trend. They also like sob stories because people will watch it like it were a soap opera with lots of tear jerking into the finals. The voting isn't fixed - the penalties are too high for that going back to the game show scandals of the 50s, but the judges can skew audience perceptions by lavishing praise on contestants. They can also prep contestants so they appeal to a wider demographic. So you tell Grace to ditch the pink hair she had for a blonde bob and have her show up in looking more middle American clean cut than NYC hipster. It doesn't always work - it did with Grace but when they tried to push Courtney Hadwin, the public said no thanks. But AGT definitely has its favorites.

How about in 2019 the champions where Jackie didn’t get to sing 🎤 very long , didn’t get to sing 🎤 the best part of the song ! I never did like the song being cut short, stop 🛑 cramming all those contestants during the broadcast plus stop 🛑 the wasted time you see on the AGT FRANCHISE!
