Wasn't Jackie talking about doing originals before Two Hearts came out? There certainly was a demand for something different among some fans.
I still think that if the originals had been released on their own as an EP (instead of the two-disk gimmick) the songs' merits would have gotten undivided critical attention (whether good or bad). As a value proposition, mixing two types of music on the same album likely caused confusion among potential buyers. I groused about that confusion when it came out, as did some of the hardcore CC fans. Whether a stand-alone effort would have made a difference is unanswerable.
Now there's a chance to find out how much interest in new originals can be stirred up. However I honestly think it is too soon to know, so she has to see this through.

Two Hearts Part II was (and is, as downloads or streaming, although the physical CD for 2HpII seems unavailable now) available separately, in addition to being available as part of the 2 disk set. Jackie was still with Sony Masterworks for that, and perhaps that was the most gamble they were willing to take.

Jackie was still with Sony Masterworks for that, and perhaps that was the most gamble they were willing to take. That seems reasonable. It is a conservative business approach, even if flexible enough to allow the disc 2 experiment. After all, she was only seventeen, and not likely to have much say in the matter. I still think Two Hearts isn't as relevant to today as some have claimed. I'm going to my position about that album's relevance another way: The success or failure of the early originals is not determinative of how new originals will perform. It is not reasonable to say that BECAUSE those songs weren't great, THEREFORE the new ones won't be either. There are other factors at play that could have more of an impact. CC burnout, natural child-star decline, aging-out demographic, shifting musical tastes, etc. The more relevant question is, to what extent can her recent decline in popularity be halted or reversed by a stand-alone album of fresh new originals in a more relevant genre? I can only gauge how much more willing I'd be to buy the new album by how much more I like the songs. I need to hear the songs first. So far I've liked what I've heard more than I liked the early ones. It's reasonable to assume others may feel the same way. A little off-topic: There is another, possibly determinative factor, though. Is the name "Jackie Evancho" simply loaded, like the name "Shirley Temple" or "Baby Jane Hudson" - Too dismissible as already heard, already done that. I've thought this for a few years now, which is why I once suggested that she join a good band as a lead singer that has a regular band name. In other words, bury the name. It's something she can consider if it comes to that. She can still make a good living as a singer in a band. This one's just a side note on future options.

donkey got banned on Rick's forum LoL...Donkey doesn't care, he rarely goes to Rick's forum. Besides, I'm not sure what his problem is. I merely suggested that he stop taking in cats.

OMG, Donkey said a very cruel thing, but he's killing cats and isn't the least bit concerned about!! Sure glad he enjoyed his Greek Potato Salad. And BTW, dead cats are not a very good source of companionship. I pray that the organization that threatened to arrest him follows through with it.

donkey got banned on Rick's forum Admin: Johnny, that was a very cruel thing he said. Colby still hasn't come out. I don't know if he's still alive. I deleted this A-Holes account and banned him. HIS cats keep dying, HIS cats were taken from him by the authorities because he is unable to keep them in a humane environment, HE can't even determine if his current cat is alive in his own house. I don't think he's likely a bad person, despite his misguided comment towards me, but it is pretty obvious that he is unable to take care of his animals. No, suggesting he stop taking in cats isn't cruel, it's obvious. And this isn't about him...or me. It's frankly just about the animals. Mabye it's time he stop thinking about what he wants and start thinking about what's best for these cats. Even from a far removed and mostly disinterested party such as myself, this seems self evident. I guess it's a good thing I didn't post the video over there showing 24 things to do with a dead cat like Colt suggested. lol

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability caused by differences in the brain. People with ASD often have problems with social communication and interaction, and restricted or repetitive behaviors or interests. In conclusion, a person with autism can absolutely live a normal life with the right support and resources. Early intervention, education, and community support are key factors in helping people with autism achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives.

It’s not doing any good if cats keep dying when going to Ricks , he should be getting help for his disorder, if he is getting help ,he needs to try something else!

I've done some admin cleanup. I've removed inactive members who have fewer than 10 posts and have not been online since 2017 or earlier. They are either lost interest in Jackie or, given the age of Jackie fans, may not even be living.
I've also removed Rick as an Admin since I have been the only Admin for many many years. Rick has always been, and still remains, a valuable member.

But Jackie has written original songs before in 2H Pt 2. She didn't write her original music then but that was only because she chose not to (I can't image anything or anyone was preventing her from doing so). So this is not something new for Jackie. In fact, I don't see the songs as being particularly different from the last time. I think several of the songs I've heard so far from Jackie's new material sound far better than anything that she released 2H. Saying it’s the same as 2H , Look what Donkey posted, that the new music is better than 2H! Amg1977 posted that this was Jackie's first chance to chart a new direction. My point in response to amg was that Jackie had already made a previous attempt, 2H Pt2, where she had already written original pop songs (that turned out to be similar to this batch of songs). In fact, I think Jackie 2.0 is a misnomer for this 2023 iteration. I firmly believe 2H Pt2 was Jackie 2.0 and this 2023 iteration should be called Jackie 3.0 (in fact, that is what I will call it from now on). The fact that the previous Jackie 2.0 failed does not mean it should be swept under the rug. I was not addressing the quality Jackie 2.0 vs Jackie 3.0 songs. But I should note that while I'm happy that Donkey likes Jackie 3.0 songs better, Donkey is only 1 opinion. Spotify is the largest streaming platform with about 1/3 of the market. As of this morning, BME has 14.5K streams after more than 2.5 weeks of release. That is very low by any standards (except those of msims and Melody Place). Of course, Jackie 3.0 is just starting so its success or failure is yet to be determined.

Your also is just one opinion, Donkey opinion is just as good as yours!Donkey has also seen Jackie sing 🎤 live , you haven’t! On the success or failure of Jackie 3.0, my opinion is irrelevant so I did not state any opinion. So are Donkey's and your opinions. The only relevant opinion is the public's. Live singing enhances the experience. So if you love Jackie, you will love Jackie more when she is live. If you hate Jackie, you will hate live Jackie more. And if you are neutral, you will be even more neutral.
