My point is simply that Kenzie isn't a good singer...clearly...and that other factors are involved in her popularity, factors that Jackie doesn't have. Jackie is a FAR better singer ... But I have long pointed out that singing ability is mostly irrelevant. For example, Jackie is a far better singer than Bob Dylan but that is a meaningless comparison. Same with comparing Jackie with Kenzie. What is much more relevant is comparing music streams. Because streams are an important metric in measuring musical career success.

Music is something you can do with JUST your ears and your brain. All the visuals are not music. Only TV addicts or deaf people or people with no imagination need the visuals. And with a wireless mic, it's more common than not to walk around the stage, so the audience thinks you're singing to them personally. One could do a little light dancing if the singing wasn't too demanding, but I think that rarely adds much, and some of the cases it does, I'd rather it didn't. A couple of times Kitty's moves came on a bit strong for me, or seemed to. I have no problem with people having the right to have such feelings, but I think it's over-sharing to act them out, although I can understand that with a mask on, it might feel freeing to be able to acknowledge that one is allowed to have them. Point taken an perhaps she wanted to be free of AGT image , she under mask thought she was Jane in the jungle .

These two mini-documentaries can offer some insight into Jackie's mindset towards her career as well as how the demands of the music industry, the media and fans can be extremely harmful. LeAnn Rimes: The Affair Heard Around the World This story shows the problems that can arise when family members are left to managing an up and coming young musician. It also shows the issues that young girls face when they are around 15-17 years old when they no long present a completely wholesome image. Destroyed by Fame: The Jessica Simpson Story This story shows Jessica's struggles with having to follow both Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera in the pop music scene. Jessica wanted to be known for her voice, but was forced by her labels to emulate the dancing and sexuality of Britney and Christina. Jessica was also body-shamed quite a bit when she gained some weight and became frustrated when she was held to unrealistic standards. What happened to Jessica is such a shame because she had a lot of innate talent The lessons learned here are that the pressures of being a young woman in music industry are extremely high. The music industry expects not only great music from these girls, but they must also be sex symbols. Indeed , too thin or too heavy is two much to carry on or behind the eyes of to be fans but Jackie has her Michael angel watching over , beside an under her .

Not all usage models fit streaming, nor ever will. I agree completely. Streaming will never be 100% of music industry revenue. But streaming is already 84% of American music industry revenue and continues to rise. I ignore non-streaming revenues because they are too small to be worth my attention and few statistics are available.

I don't think I will ever understand the religious ferver attached to legacy technology. Streaming, like CDs, vinyl LPs, cassette tapes, 8-track, etc., is just a technology. Each technology has its plusses and minuses and the public will judge their value. For a few years, cassettes were becoming dominant because it afforded greater mobility despite its inferior sound quality. When CDs offered both, cassettes faded away.
The big difference with streaming is that music is treated as a service rather than an end product. Consumers seem to like the idea of paying a flat fee equivalent to the price of one or two albums a month to have access to all the music in the world on demand. It is actually even more of a bargain as that affords everyone in the family access to the music of their choice.
There are people living today who have never purchased an album. I haven't for years. Why would I? Streaming is replacing album purchases not only because of teenagers but because of their parents. It is simply a better value than buying music for everyone in the family.
Could streaming be replaced? Of course! But that is because something else will come along that consumers prefer. The public doesn't give a damn about outmoded standards of musical purity.

It's quite obvious that the vast majority of people think differently. Why do people fill arenas with popular artist if they could just stay home and listen to them on a CD or something. Why do artist pay so much to make music videos. I would much rather listen to a music video than just audio only. That is why youtube is the biggest music platform.
