Music is something you can do with JUST your ears and your brain. All the visuals are not music. Only TV addicts or deaf people or people with no imagination need the visuals. And with a wireless mic, it's more common than not to walk around the stage, so the audience thinks you're singing to them personally. One could do a little light dancing if the singing wasn't too demanding, but I think that rarely adds much, and some of the cases it does, I'd rather it didn't. A couple of times Kitty's moves came on a bit strong for me, or seemed to. I have no problem with people having the right to have such feelings, but I think it's over-sharing to act them out, although I can understand that with a mask on, it might feel freeing to be able to acknowledge that one is allowed to have them. |

This story shows Jessica's struggles with having to follow both Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera in the pop music scene. Jessica wanted to be known for her voice, but was forced by her labels to emulate the dancing and sexuality of Britney and Christina. Jessica was also body-shamed quite a bit when she gained some weight and became frustrated when she was held to unrealistic standards.
What happened to Jessica is such a shame because she had a lot of innate talent
The lessons learned here are that the pressures of being a young woman in music industry are extremely high. The music industry expects not only great music from these girls, but they must also be sex symbols.
