Jackie said she was going to make changes many times. When she turned 18 she was going to take control. She was going to have an empire. Now it changing the direction of her career just a tiny bit. When are people going to stop making excuses for her. As long as Mike is her manager she will not go anywhere. If she can't see that by now then her career is hopeless. The numbers prove it. Jackie's "Behind my Eyes" 18,548 Spotify Streams came out Sept. 8 Tate McRae's "Greedy" 74,959,220 Spotify Streams came out Sept. 15 Then at the same time Jackie released "Behind my Eyes" Olivia Rodrigo released the following songs from her "Guts" album all at one. But before she released all of these she release "Vampire" a month or so earlier so that she would have something to do PR and sing to promote her new album. Vampire has 432,858,794 spotify streams. If you are like Jackie and her team and don't know what the hell they are doing don't sit around and sing the phone book, use others that are doing extremely well as a template. Jackie should have been prepared to do a lot of PR with "Behind My Eyes" and have the rest of the album ready to go not far from it's release.
Olivia Rodrigo released the following the same day Jackie released "Behind My Eyes".

You said others were able to release material during the pandemic and I told you how they did it: they have professional studios built in their homes So? Shes put out a song or two that way. How many of were albums were recorded that way? This is the Rickky level autism and narcissism in thinking that: she should converse with those who you both follow. Only old fossils buy music instead of streaming it. Older fans purchase albums but also younger fans. as I pointed out to you several times with examples including the moppets. I don't know why sims goes to the off-topic thread to reply to posts made here. I asked once about this and SoCal said he did not move them. My guess is this is a passive-aggressive way of protesting that this forum isn't the old Amazon product forum, or something. But back to the topic. After TMS people went online to look up Jackie. If all they find is old videos and nothing new, they're not going to hang around. Don't act like you don't understand that. The point has been made several times that this is a missed opportunity, and that she (as a professional musician) should see this coming in advance. I don't know who said she should have had an album to release, but that's not what I am saying. You know this, but you're doing the usual simzy thing by doing what you accuse others of doing (cherry picking, moving the goal post), and lately hiding your replies on another thread. "Oh yeah, that's you!" is a playground argument. Stop it. Move on. I brought up Grace Vanderwaal. Grace. You know, sims, GRACE. GRACE VANDERWAAL. I brought her into it because she kept fans entertained and wanting more doing the lockdown. It's a simple and obvious comparison to wish Jackie had used the simple tools available to her to share her musicianship with fans on a frequent and regular basis, especially so that the Jackie curious will find these when they go looking, and hopefully stick around. She didn't do that. End of story, smizly. Move on. Stop moving the goal post and replies. Stop pretending ignorance. Stop cherry picking. Stop gaslighting. Stop calling people narcissist and other names and go look in a mirror if you want to see the embodiment of everything you accuse others of being. You're the only one on this forum who regularly does this crap. I'm all about the purpose of this forum – get real and discuss things instead of dishing out insults. Jackie should have been prepared to do a lot of PR with "Behind My Eyes" and have the rest of the album ready to go not far from it's release. I'm not clear on the delay either. But she will have done two events to present to the folks that make choices affecting streaming media etc, has been heavy (for her, and not light for anyone) on social media lately, has a lyric video out (not big budget, so what?). (edit: and she's lately been responding to a few comments and questions, something she previously did rarely and almost exclusively when those were from young kids that would be thrilled to be acknowledged with a like or smiley response and wouldn't expect answers or conversation; so she's going beyond either the limits of what was previously allowed, or her own comfort limit, or both) She's done everything but (maybe) offer payola to "influencers" and the folks that schedule real or internet radio content. That's kind of dirty even if in ways that are legal, and absent (paying) another expert to tell you which ones actually work, not so clear whether it's effective or a waste. Not saying she couldn't offer interviews (which she does, but sounding more on top of things would help); but influencers are going to expect some benefit, something to interest them and their followers; if not money, then something else. I suppose she could quietly suggest to people she's worked with that they promote each other when applicable. But aside from current label (Greg Camp), how many of them are into pop and in a position where they would get some benefit out of that too? "use influencers" is a catchphrase without a plan, unless the details to make it worthwhile are included (and no, that doesn't just include that influencer X got 10 million views for performer Y). |

"new" is not a magic bullet, but she could have promoted all the pop and near pop she already had out there, even if that wasn't in the most recently released album. |

Er, it's Jackie 2.0. She's really only had one career so far and she's been trying to start Jackie 2.0 career for a number of years now, i.e. Jackie reinvented. Jackie attempted exactly the same thing with exactly the same "going crazy" songs in 2H Pt2 which I consider to be Jackie 2.0. So this attempt is Jackie 3.0. But there is always hope. Remember Microsoft didn't get it right until Windows 3.1. LOL...but Jackie 1.0 was her first career. Now she's trying to launch a second career...and has been for a while. Thus, Jackie 2.0. The units here are measured in actual careers, not attempts at careers or attempts at releasing original music. 2H Pt2 was her first attempt at releasing originals. If you want to use attempts at releasing original music as the unit of measurement, it's still 2.0 as now she's taking a second go at that. 3.0 only works if you mix units/apples and oranges, aka careers and original song release attempts. And you can't do that as it is clearly against the law and all the norms of civilized society. lol  |

She's clearly still here reading comments and decided to pipe in about the cat issue. lol I'm glad that she did, now I know who she reported the issue to and know that they didn't respond. Of course I never had a problem with disappointed and I often agreed with her. Oh yeah, Disappointed is right a lot about Jackie's career. Thing is her mission is to trigger Jackie fans and to relish in their dismay at Jackie's career decline. As a result, she often goes overboard and tries to shoot down any and all positive Jackie news, correctly or incorrectly. |

"spiteful" is a word that comes to mind. Not to mention doctrinaire, as if someone doing classical MUST be formally trained or banned from doing it, or someone doing pop must be all-in on pop. Bleep the categories, do what you do, it works or it doesn't. Fine to have rules if you yourself claim you're doing some very strictly defined genre (it isn't opera anyway if it's not acted too, so no big deal if the technique isn't quite on or a mic is used), but otherwise, mix it up and make as many purist heads explode as possible! |

I was being slandered by donkey and donkey jr who were claiming I was lying about sending a complaint in about Rick and his cats. So I either had to let people believe that, or make a post giving the details about what I did do. But I must say, I do enjoy living in their heads, even when I am not posting here. One has to wonder if disappointed had a direct encounter with Jackie or her team to develop that level of animosity. The animosity came from encounters with OTTs, but I do think Jackie is underserving of the accolades given her and I can't stand the lying and sob stories to generate sales. she could just move on to some other activity to get some positive energy or inspiration rather than hanging around here. Actually, I have gotten a lot of positive energy and inspiration here watching the OTTs flounder and gnash their teeth about the latest comeback flopping. And seeing them come to the realization that I have been right for years. I have found that quite enjoyable. |
