Yet another formula. Life isn't that simple. Your life is complicated. My life is simple. Life is full of formulas that work 80% of the time and don't work 20% of the time. Over the past 10 years, I went with the 80% and predicted that Jackie's career would decline based on the success rate of child stars. I lacked the intelligence to understand the complexities of the 20% so I chose the only alternative that I could understand. At this point in time, I look at (1) Jackie's history of songwriting success, (2) her charisma (as measured by social media following) and (3) the historic rate of new showbiz career launches. I apply my formula and I predict that Jackie 3.0 has an 80% chance of failure. As before, I continue to lack the intellect to understand the complexities of the 20% so I chose the only alternative that I do understand. Simple formulas work the best for me. |

amg1977 gives great insight on what is going on, I agree with most of his post ! Agreed. In the old Amazon forums, Amazon asked the question for each post: Does this post add to the discussion? (Or words to that effect; I don't remember the exact wording of the question.) Amazon was not asking whether one agreed with the post, Amazon as asking whether the post contained interesting ideas. I agree with most of amg1977's posts and disagree with others. But they always contribute interesting ideas to the discussion. |

maybe she could get some charisma like she did on TMS with some coaching. It important not to confuse stagecraft with charisma. Stagecraft is what you do on stage and every performer can easily learn it, practice it and do it well. Charisma is what you do to be attractive to the public. There is no formula for charisma that I am aware of because if there was, everybody would be using it and then nobody would have more charisma than anybody else. The best and simplest measure of charisma is social media following. |

One can have social media following with the charisma of a rock - literally, there are social media accounts for people's pet rocks that do very well. Predicting the future based on the past has a problem: people can change their behavior. We're seeing that. And charisma isn't what you think it is; it's mostly an in-person thing. What you're thinking of is salesmanship, which is acting skills and timing. Like the Ronco guy (Ron Popeil), or Ben Stein's Clear Eyes commercials. |

There are different kinds of charisma. For the purposes of this forum, showbiz and Jackie, I define charisma as "that quality that attracts fans (real life and online fans) and is measured by social media following". Kim Kardashian has $1.7B net worth (according to Forbes) and 364M Instagram followers. By my definition, she has lots of charisma. But "charisma" is only a word, you are free to call it what you want. If you want to refer it as "salesmanship" that is fine with me. But whatever you choose to call it, it is much than than just "acting skills and timing". Because Kim Kard has much more than just "acting skills and timing". There are lots of people with "acting skills and timing" that don't have $1.7B net worth and 364M Instagram followers. Going back to Jackie, my formula says she is unlikely to succeed because of insufficient songwriting and salesmanship. Not unless she learns $1.7B of "acting skills and timing".

No Donkey you aren’t being fair, he said her career would be over, I didn’t so I win ! I predict Jackie will prove you both wrong! I don’t think she will be a superstar but her career going forward will be very rewarding for her and her fans ! SoCal Fan is a critic so he is posting from that point of view , I being a fan is speaking from that perspective!We will see who is right!
