Why don't you want Jackie succeed? What did she do to you personally to have such a negative view? Jackie cheated on me with my best friend. She broke my heart and I'll never forgive her. And btw even if donkeys opinion is that she cannot supposedly get gigs, with MP and Greg and his industry friends she could get gigs that way as well. Greg can't even get any gigs for himself. His website (gregcampmusic.com) shows no concerts. He's been reduced to being Jackie's accompanist.

Kenzie's new song has 50 times more views than Jackie's and Kenzie is way behind artist like Tate McRae and Olivia Rodrigo. If all Jackie's singles keep doing as bad as the last ones a label would be foolish to promote an EP from them.

There are other ways to stream besides spotify But Spotify is the largest streamer with more than twice the streams of the second largest. There is no reason to think that Jackie is doing better on another platform.

Well what else could she be doing in the studio for 1.5 years? Mostly goofing off is my guess. Likely she goes there once or twice a month on weekends for something to do. Maybe gets together with Camp at times, sometimes goes there on her own to chase the dream. But as another poster just said, no way has she been going to the studio full time for over a year.

I thought it was said that those 5 tracks were in the bag quite a while ago, otherwise it's taking an awful long time to record those 5 tracks, especially since she's was supposed to be a one-take wonder when she was younger, so they must be doing more tracks.

There is no reason to think that Jackie is doing better on another platform. Of course there is because BME is getting played on AC stations for days now so one should assume that things are going along as planned, if they released another single. If you recall though MP mentioned the COT streams and spotify wasnt a huge portion of that.

Greg can't even get any gigs for himself. His website (gregcampmusic.com) shows no concerts. He's been reduced to being Jackie's accompanist.
As I have pointed out before, Greg Camp has never been a performer who could succeed on his own. The early success of Smashmouth was a combination of Camp's songwriting matched with the ability and personal charisma of lead singer Steve Harwell.
Harwell's good times energy was a huge part of their breakout success. When his young son was diagnosed with terminal leukemia, Harwell went off the deep end into mental illness, drug abuse, and alcoholism. The group never recovered.
As for Camp, he later tried going solo and he is not cut out for the role as a solo headliner. He can still write good songs and I think he has a good future ahead of him in a "behind the scenes" role but he is just starting out. I don't know whether he can be successful at MP, but once he gets some experience, he could move on. I know he's formed another group but finding another Harwell is going to be difficult.

Ariana Grande has the #1 album of the week and Bon Jovi just released that song. She released Smoking Gun once BME was actively getting airplay on AC radio and we know per Jackie that BME is being streamed as she said here: It is not as though she were "just behind" Ariana Grande in any meaningful fashion. I mentioned her (not just because the placement) because of what I read from billboard: "several years of mostly being out of the spotlight" "is more of a full-albums artist now" For one to expect huge numbers from an albums artist and without a proper music video at least. It should always be about the EP or LP and how that does over time and the marketing behind it.

Well what else could she be doing in the studio for 1.5 years? And a few of the 5 songs she wrote a long time ago. At least one of them was written during the covid lockdown. She's been recording her songs that she wrote a while back with Greg Camp producing them. That's what she's been doing. I hope she is recording more than the five we know about, but Jackie is moving at glacial speed so who knows. My guess (only a guess) is the EP will have 5-8 songs (probably 6) including both versions of BME. It may or may not include ALIHS. It will most likely be streaming only unless one of the songs gets good traction.
Except for artists who are established hitmakers, EPs work better than LPs. If you have 2 EPs of 6 tracks each, you have 6 chances (three from each EP) to get that breakout song. On an LP, you only get 3 chances. If you are a big star, the LP works better.

Who's going to buy Kenzie's EP or LP? No one buys them anymore - least of all Kenzie's young fans. They will stream her songs like everyone else's.
More to the point, we should not be comparing Jackie's streams to those of Kenzie or Grace much less Tate, Olivia, Ariana, or Billie. She does not have any background in her new genre. Look how many years some of the others we have talked about here have been working in the shadows before they established an audience. Five years ago, Tate McRae couldn't get arrested. I am not saying Jackie will have that level of success but I believe she could find an audience over time. Yes, I know she was a star in the past but people outside the dwindling CC audience don't remember her or never saw her. The people you should be comparing her to are other singers without a significant established audience.
It will take a few years minimum of hard work. I have criticized Jackie in the past (before I was aware of her psychological issues) that she failed to take advantage of opportunities. Thus far in her genre shift, she is doing everything I would hope she would to at this stage. She is releasing music, hitting social media regularly, and networking with industry people. Those are bottom foundational things. Once she has her music released, she has to get it in front of people and the best route for her is trying to get gigs as an opener for established acts in her new genre. Find some artists with a compatible sound and put out feelers. Mention the new EP and ask them to listen and that you would love to open for them. This gets you a spot in front of an audience predisposed to your new sound. You also can concentrate on all the new material and some covers in the same genre. You may not be opening with the biggest names at first, but just take the gigs and try to get their fans to be fans of you as well. Do this step by step and keep working.
