Yes a music video or multiple ones will boost the stream counts, i wonder when shes releasing. I think she is going to make one for Broken Things and Get Out Of My Life and release all 5 at the same time. At the same time when the EP or LP is released? That would be brilliant, if MP did that. She needs ALOT of streams during that release week. If it even has a chance of charting that is and we don't know that. -- Opening slot for a major act would be ideal however thats going to be as hard or harder as shes not toured that extensively in five years or more. Is there any interest though? People do know of her in the industry but are they willing to take her on as an opener? It also would be nice if she could do a high profile interview or podcast with someone more relatable to the age group they are targeting with this material. One thing is for sure a gig in Nashville is a guarantee.

Opening slot for a major act One thing is for sure a gig in Nashville is a guarantee My post is NOT directed at Disappointed or any other poster but is directed at the above type of post. The above type of post is problematic because: 1. It attacks and insults the original poster by ridicule. Attacks and insults on other posters are strongly discouraged on this forum. 2. This is a discussion forum but the above type of post does not add any discussion or present any arguments. It adds nothing to the forum. If one disagrees, one can simply post "I disagree". 3. The above type of post contains a video or graphic that takes up space on the page and forces readers to waste time to scroll past. Once again, my post is not directed at any poster in particular since many posters have made the above type of post. But it is a warning that the above type of post will likely be deleted from now on.

There's also Taylor Swift playing the media like a violin.

There's also Taylor Swift playing the media like a violin. But sooner or later, death and/or taxes catches up with even the slickest. One has to be quite (in)famous already to manipulate on that scale, and eventually the shine wears off.

It's next to impossible to get booted from this forum, unlike the cat forum. That's right. Rick's forum is a fan forum so it is appropriate (or even required) that those expressing non-fan opinions be banned. We are not a fan forum so we welcome all opinions, positive negative or neutral. So far, we have had no reason to ban anyone (other than spammers).

The "Pop" genre seems like the worst category of music to be in. You have to compete with all these superstars. How is anyone supposed to make headway against the Olivia Rodrigos filling up arenas. When I stream random music it's always something other than pop. Rock mostly. Jazz, folk, classical, etc. Not pop. There are a lot of good songs in the pop category that get played in the alt categories. This songs should just be called Alternative, or Alt-rock. Pop is a cut-throat category. Do something else or call it something else.
Pop is an aspirational category. If it's not popular yet, is it Pop?
I hope the last couple of songs on her mysterious EP are something other than pop. I was really hoping to be blown away like I was when Grace's "Letters Vol 1" came out. Man, that was something new. It was exciting because I didn't expect that from her. Plus it wasn't derivative.
Side note: Have you ever noticed that the chorus of Behind My Eyes is very similar to the chorus of "Faith" by New Order?
It's no big deal, I like both songs, but it's just to illustrate that Jackie is not doing anything new here. I like her song, but it's derivative and not something I'm blown away by. I want to hear new, that's all.

Time-stamp correction: The chorus starts as 1:00 and again at 3:55

Side note: Have you ever noticed that the chorus of Behind My Eyes is very similar to the chorus of "Faith" by New Order? You are right, the melody of the chorus is the same. Time stamp: for me the chorus is at 1:09 and repeats at 2:10 and 3:56. It is far too similar to be coincidence.
