I mean, she could just make up a word to name her EP...like "Schmifendorama", or, "Disappointeddumdumhead" and that would be fine. ROFL Of course it would be fine for you. Album covers can be made up names, or strange spellings words if one wishes...it's hardly unheard of. By the way, have you listened to her new album? I think it's actually quite good, especially for her first try at an album of all originals. But then again, you are a JDS propagandist...everything Jackie does must suck no matter what. Even though she hasn't been a prominent artist in the music industry in the last few years, Jackie is still known on the fringes, and to a small degree in the mainstream. These interviews that she's done on the small youtube channels and radio stations are actually seen as lucky "gets" in that niche. Her recent performance on GMA shows that Jackie hasn't been completely forgotten about in the mainstream either. She must be making someone some money somewhere not to be completely dismissed by media companies, so no one is getting paid off. She knows that she soon will have to produce a hit single or big selling album to avoid fading into oblivion. Solla is a very good start with some great songs and now she has something to build on.
Spelling Solla as Sola is just one error in a never ending string of mistakes that have been made by either her or her management. This kind of mistake is completely unacceptable after being in the industry this long (or for one day, for that matter). Her management team would have been fired 10 years ago if they worked for any other artist. Jackie (for whatever reason) extends an endless amount of grace to those folks and my guess she does it because she hasn't learned how extend grace to herself.

Maybe she should try to get on Tiny Desk concert like she did before. Maybe they would be interested is a 10 year return. They have 9.27m suscribers.
Olivia Rodrigo thought it was worth her while. But it's not just being on that show there are a lot of other people that watch and review the people on that show.

Until recently, I had the same thought as you, except there is a trend among artists, writers, politicians, etc that have been making appearances on small, unknown media sites. One good example of that is when presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy made appearances on a great number of small youtube channels. Vivek was strategic about which channels he appeared on because most of those channels were not represented by typical voters in his party. He also chose channels that were just starting to grow substantially and he started to build a very strong social media base. Of course Jackie's not getting Olivia-level interviews, but there is only a tiny handful of artists that do. Jackie should say yes to most, if not all of the interviews that she can get right now. She should be applauded for being humble and being aware of her starting point and not being too cocky to avoid interviews with small fry. |

Yes her Team should go for bigger interviews or podcasts with hundreds of thousands or millions of subscribers. All those interviews were limited to 10 or 12 minutes or less. One of her best interviews is still the Yahoo LP interview which was long and none of the usual questions were asked.

First of all, it's apparently not wrong...it's apparently spelled Solla in some cases. Secondly, there is room for artistic license in putting any name on an album, spelled any way you wish. It's been done before. Even if she did spell it wrong and someone asked her, she could just say she changed it up for artistic reasons. Thirdly, even it is was spelled wrong, 99.99 percent of people won't know it, or care about it. Fourth, if none of my first three points were the case, then you might have a case. If it is in fact spelled wrong, and I'm not convinced that it is based on what I found on Google Search, while it would be symptomatic of poor management and simple laziness/carelessness of not checking on the correct spelling, the practical matter is it's not an issue and won't affect interest in her album in the slightest. lol I agree her mgmt has a history of sucking, and Jackie has a history of procrastinating. Examples include telling fans she is going to sell prints of her art soon well over a year ago and never hearing about it again, and not updating her concert schedule on her website, which as we speak still has the April 20th concert date on it and is still missing the 54 Below upcoming concert dates which are occurring in less than two months. She also should have posted that the Italy trip had been cancelled. She didnt have to say why, i.e. "Due to factors beyond her control, the event has been cancelled". Airport Joe got burned on that deal, got his hopes up, sent in the money, only to be blindsided. The Italy trip is also still listed on her concert schedule on her website as if it is still an active event that you can book. That's really just unacceptable. At the very least, it should have been removed. |
