Also David Foster isn’t going to waste his time on someone that can’t sing 🎤, in order to make money 💰 he has to make a profit right Disappointed ?

Well if that’s true then what happened? Where is he now, certainly not helping Jackie to get any gigs or arrange any music. When is the last time he hired her for one of his concerts?

When is the last time he hired her for one of his concerts? A short window opened for Jackie after her AGT successful run. She could fade away into oblivion, as so many on these talent shows have done, or find a post AGT career. He helped give her a shot at the latter...and it worked. He added his name, his song writing, his performances on the piano in the Dream w/me PBS concert. That gave her her first album, which sold a lot of copies, and led to years of concerts and albums. Jackie got people's attention with her AGT performances, David Foster helped give her that post AGT career launch. He did what he could do to help her have a successful start professionally, then he moved on with his career and his life - he's a busy man.

David Foster wanted to get the little girl big voice , not older Jackie with a nice voice! lol..its not his job to monitor her career and then leap in when its struggling. She's an adult now, and she had a great ride. Foster has long since moved on with his life and career.

There was a bit of speculation that Lisa ruined the relationship between DF and Team E. But, yeah, he did move on to greener pastures. Jackie would not have been as successful as she became without Foster. Dream With Me, IMO, is the pinnacle of her career post-AGT.

I once heard that Lisa had made some comment after DWM, saying that Foster doesn't come cheap. lol Very possible it was very mutual that they part ways at that point. The Evanchos wanted to move forward on their own, managing Jackie's career, and Foster was fine with that as well as he had his own projects to get back to. And I also agree that DWM was her best album. I liked Songs from the Silver Screen and Awakening too, but they weren't AS good as DWM. After Awakening, things really went downhill in my opinion.

I don’t know if she had anything to do with it but it certainly didn’t help when she stated that he was too expensive. I agree that first PBS special was magical. I have the blue ray version and it’s unbelievably well done. Top notch performance and production.

I will say though, while not at that same level, I really enjoyed her Music of the Movies PBS special too. It thought it nicely done, in a beautiful setting, with backing orchestra, and Jackie did a great job there too.

Wait, didn't David Foster do two PBS specials with Jackie? DWM and Great Performances? I forget that she did three of those specials, and I think I always combine DWM and Great Performances in my head as one PBS special (I lost track of Jackie for those first few years after AGT and had to catch up later on everything she did. lol) I think she was 14 when I caught up with her again.

Except you were not around at that time according to your own timeline. If you don't understand why Redford would want to work with her, you arent going to understand Foster. Redford could work with anyone and they would oblige but he chose Jackie precisely because she wasn't experienced and he could work with her and he did get a good performance out of her and was pleased. Foster contacted the E's he saw an opportunity financially and he was driven by ego, many fans praised him at the old amazon but I saw Foster as an opportunist. I don't think anyone here really gets the business but they sure have alot of opinions about it, both E's seem to get it. Btw Mike is in Rome. DWM was over estimated by Sony at doing 2 million, that just wasnt possible it would have had to do numbers like Buble's Christmas album that came out that year, which later did about 10 million with multiple tv specials. Sony was never going to fund that. And Foster was just way too expensive I think and who paid for Foster? Jackie. Is that a myth busted according to ChrisR?

Gotta disagree with you there msims...Jackie got the job done, and she was cute in the role, but I didn't find her acting to be "good"..in fact it was quite cringe and awkward. Not her fault...she wasn't an actress, and had no training in it. She was a singer, not an actor. There is a reason she was never asked to play a role in another movie again, despite having the "cred" of having been in a Redford movie, and despite her always proclaiming she would like to be in more movies.
