Nice of her to inform her fans why would she inform her fans about a private event? She may not be allowed to inform the public. That's the definition of "private".

That’s the definition of giving you the middle finger once again. The way to do it is by saying I’m off to do a private gig, I’ll post some information when it’s concluded.

I criticize Jackie a lot for poor marketing skills and not informing fans of events and concerts as early as she should. But I think you owe it to private clients to not go public with paid private events ahead of time. In some cases, even afterwards. I don't fault her for this...I think it's the respectful and appropriate, professional way to handle it.

I wonder what the backstory is to Jackie doing a gig in India. Christina Turino is also doing work in India for a band. Perhaps, while doing work for the Indian band, Christina heard about somebody looking for an adult contemporary singer for a birthday gig. So she recommended Jackie who, by a happy coincidence, had an opening in her calendar for that time slot.

I'm glad her normally full calendar just happened to have that date available. How fortunate for the client.

Disingenuous passive aggressive schtick over multiple posts as usual and the manipulating of colt and johnnyb. Her job is simply to show up and sing. She doesn't owe you anything. The minute you think you are entitled to anything, you aren't. Now get off the internet and get back to selling them used cars.

Jackie has an Agent and a Manager, they go through them and they must have made a good offer.

LoL...why would she inform her fans about a private event? She barely informs of public events as it is. Private events do not want attention, at least not until they're over. So we either hear about them via clips from attendees, or perhaps with event sponsor permission, after the fact. Still, a mega rich guy in Mumbai (formerly Bombay) can probably fork out not only expenses, but a nice fee too. I'd have mixed feelings about going some places, but wherever she's going there is probably quite nice.

At this point and time in her career she’s in no position to pick and choose gigs, the days of getting big bucks have long past her by. The goal now is just to cover expenses and keep herself relevant in the music business.

If someone wants to book Jackie they go through Mike.
Mike is there with Christina do you actually think someone would book Jackie for an event and pay expenses for Mike and Christian also.
Of course they could get in-touch with her through her web site LOL.

And my argument was that she is correct in not advertising a private gig ahead of time. So that is the opposite of saying she owes me/us anything. I said the exact opposite. In this case, this is between her and the client...and nobody else. Try to at least make SOME sense. lol

I wonder what the backstory is to Jackie doing a gig in India. Christina Turino is also doing work in India for a band. And we know Mike is with Christina. From post on other site, I gather the event was a birthday party for an Indian based international tax lawyer of high status. The sign in one of the pictures said first appearance in India. It does show that they still have some way they can be hired for private events, that Jackie's passport is current, and sufficient skill or assistance (as with Bali years ago) to make the logistical arrangements even for locations way beyond US/Canada/Western Europe. (there are PIT to BOM flights, but not nonstop; figure 21+ hours one way travel time, not counting ground transportation on either end) And that there is some interest. Christina seems to be doing mostly photography now, but was once a high end makeup artist, and probably still can do both; and may have enough connections to find opportunities to do two different things close in location and time. Another name that pops up in connection with Jackie from time to time is the wardrobe stylist Tanya Tamburin. A very few private gigs a year may well pay the bills, leaving more flexibility for songwriting and exploring genres rather than doing what's predictable but slowly declining. And any attention in new parts of the world esp. populous ones, even if it only spreads to .01% of population, well .01% of a billion is a hundred thousand.

I have no idea how rich Jackie's Mumbai client is, but Asians are often very status conscious and I suspect that a mega rich client would hire a much bigger star than Jackie Evancho. He's one of India's top corporate tax lawyers, with postgraduate credentials in the US as well as senior Indian credentials, and has been at least a consultant in a case in the UK. He's had roles in various trade associations and probably has multiple very wealthy clients (India has a few of its own billionaires and wealthy corporations or subsidiaries of international corporations), so he's probably at least a multimillionaire. A tax lawyer may think differently in terms of value than someone that just wants to hire a household name would. :-) I'd be surprised if they didn't. And a blonde that can (for a socially conservative society) appear modest while also having an impressive voice and performing in multiple genres, tends to be the sort that very much appeals to Asians, if we're going to throw stereotypes around. Some years ago a Phoenix billionaire had a birthday party with multiple mere multimillionaire performers (some to be sure better known than Jackie). Used to be her rate for a private was $100k, aside perhaps from charity events. That may be lower now, but it's probably at least half that plus expenses. Like I said elsewhere, a very few of those pays the bills.

But a much bigger star would cost a lot more money. He's probably moderately well off and Jackie is well within his price range. Plus, no matter how rich he is, he may just be a big Jackie fan and simply have no interest in a "bigger star".
