Perhaps. I have no idea how rich Jackie's Mumbai client is, but Asians are often very status conscious and I suspect that a mega rich client would hire a much bigger star than Jackie Evancho. He's one of India's top corporate tax lawyers, with postgraduate credentials in the US as well as senior Indian credentials, and has been at least a consultant in a case in the UK. He's had roles in various trade associations and probably has multiple very wealthy clients (India has a few of its own billionaires and wealthy corporations or subsidiaries of international corporations), so he's probably at least a multimillionaire. A tax lawyer may think differently in terms of value than someone that just wants to hire a household name would. :-) I'd be surprised if they didn't. And a blonde that can (for a socially conservative society) appear modest while also having an impressive voice and performing in multiple genres, tends to be the sort that very much appeals to Asians, if we're going to throw stereotypes around. Some years ago a Phoenix billionaire had a birthday party with multiple mere multimillionaire performers (some to be sure better known than Jackie). Used to be her rate for a private was $100k, aside perhaps from charity events. That may be lower now, but it's probably at least half that plus expenses. Like I said elsewhere, a very few of those pays the bills. If 100K was her price at the peak of her career, then it is no doubt less now. 50K plus all expenses paid for a private performance...not bad for a day's work and a couple days of travel.

I posted that yesterday before the trolling interruptions. It sounds like shes performing ABBA - Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) Agree on what the song was. The guy on keyboard sure looks like Jorn Swart; if so, that's one more person brought over for the event. And it was a birthday party held in a rented venue, and at least one of the other people on social media about it was another lawyer.

Perhaps, while doing work for the Indian band, Christina heard about somebody looking for an adult contemporary singer for a birthday gig. So she recommended Jackie who, by a happy coincidence, had an opening in her calendar for that time slot. No. You know thats not how it works. Jackie has an Agent and a Manager, they go through them and they must have made a good offer. Sometimes, deals are made through the formal channels you desribe. But very often deals are made through informal channels. Like when Jenna Ortega appeared in Sabrina Carpenter's new music video "Taste" (which has 53M views in 2 weeks). That deal was made when Sabrina texted Jenna (they have been good friends for a long time) and Jenna happily accepted. I can't imagine it is coincidence that Christina had been working with an Indian band and is in India with Mike.

Jackie got the gig because Christina Turino is doing work there and that is why Mike is there also. No big deal getting Jackie a gig when they don't have to pay expenses. I can't believe people think it is just a coincidence that Jackie gets a gig in a country where Christina just happened to be working in.

Jackie got the gig because Christina Turino is doing work there and that is why Mike is there also. That's a reasonable hypothesis even though there is no proof so far. I doubt very much that Jackie would go to a place like Mumbai without Mike accompanying her.

I doubt very much that Jackie would go to a place like Mumbai without Mike accompanying her. Phones. Internet. He could have arranged it and personally met her at the Mumbai airport. Until then, she would have been in familiar western planes and airports. Print out the tickets online, take an Uber/Lyft to the airport. Given that destination, they'll know you'll need a hand with some bags. Curbside checkin, and then just carryon through security and walking. And then do what you're told until you get to the destination and pick up your luggage. Anyone that's traveled as much as Jackie has could do that much alone. Airport to airport is probably less vulnerable than a local shopping mall, even if it might not feel that way.

If memory serves, fans used to say that CC was more widely appreciated in certain areas of Europe and Asia, and that Jackie should have taken advantage of that more than she already did. Of course, Mike's "normal childhood" decisions may have blocked many of the opportunities that were there.
Are they still there? If Jackie's AGT red-dress video has anything like the nostalgic staying power of Grace's golden buzzer, there may be many untapped markets out there. Brazil comes to mind, and possibly Dubai, Viet Nam, etc. An international tour expert or someone like that would know which countries.
I personally believe that Jackie's name is kind of tainted in the U.S. because of consumer fickleness – always going for the new shiny thing, out with the old, etc. Whereas in foreign markets where musical tastes and consumption habits may be different, a musical act that taps into lingering recollections and nostalgia could make a bundle doing several one-time events.

You should watch Emily Bear on Influenced .Episode 5 on Amazon…and she explains it.. when asked what she thought being called prodigy as a child..she responded that she absolutely hated it…and that one of her biggest fears were..that her career would fiddle out at the age of 18…because most kids in this buble (Jackie Evancho ) try to play it safe..but learning, expanding the talent, abilities is the key …it seems Quincy Jones was a great mentor Jackie Evancho always played it safe..for 14 years now..she never tried really something new, learned new things..still the same amateurish CC fake aria songs

How many singers have a 14 year career! How many one hit wonders have we had in music?

fans used to say that CC was more widely appreciated in certain areas of Europe and Asia, and that Jackie should have taken advantage of that more than she already did. I believe those fans are mistaken. CC has long been a dying genre worldwide. CC fans will claim that the Three Tenors temporarily revived the popularity of CC but I believe what was popular was the Three Tenors and not the CC genre. And the Three Tenors gave their last concert in 2003, more than two decades ago. Proof that CC is dying worldwide: there is no new generation of CC stars anywhere in the world. The old generation is still around - Bocelli, Rieu, Brightman but CC will die with them and their geriatric fans. There are young CC singer like Katherine Jenkins and the Italian tenor groups but they are nowhere near the stature or popularity of the old stars.

It suggest that they don't have to work at it, that it just comes naturally. Emily Bear put a lot of time in training to get where she is. Jackie pretty well just thought that title would entitle her to be a star. Of course child prodigy is just a made up title usually by people that have no ideal what they are talking about. Emily had the natural ability to be a great pianist at a young age but she still put in the time to become one.

How many singers have a 14 year career! How many one hit wonders have we had in music? Jackie had a fantastic career as a child cc star. It just pretty much ran its course. Luckily we still get to see her sing from time to time, her EP, while not commercially successful, was a lot of fun for us Jackie fans, and her past fame still gets her the occasional gig or interview, and likely will for years to come. Is it the new pop star career she was hoping for, the successful re-invention of her as a singer in a new genre? Well, no...not even close. But it's still not half bad as she can likely continue to make a relatively modest living out of doing what she loves to do.
