I am not sure what this arrangement between Jackie and Echosmith is. Neither of them has said anything about the other. Jackie doesn't even follow Echosmith and they don't follow her which is strange when you are going to open for someone. I don't think it has to be that complicated. I'm thinking of the people I knew who were in bands in their 20s. Three friends of mine were in bands that released albums. One opened for a name band of the 80s. It was a big deal to them and all their friends. That's what it feels like to start out. My friend's band didn't have any previous relationship with the band they opened for, it was just a good gig, gotten for them by their manager (or whoever). For some of these people I used to hang out with, it was the heyday of their life. None of them are still 'famous' but none of them are unhappy. It was just a phase in their life. Now, Jackie. One way to look at this is that she had her heyday, and then it ended, full stop. She's in a new phase of her life, and (for whatever reason) she's chosen to keep performing. I have to assume that, by now, she has gone through a few stages of grief, and has at least begun to acknowledge that she has to start from scratch. She's very likely a bit stressed out and still grieving the end of her childhood stardom. What do you do in your 20s when you really start to realize that your momma doesn't do your laundry anymore? You have a come-to-Jesus moment. You get serious. You panic even. You start looking at community colleges. You think about who you know that can help you get hired or whatever. You have to make a decision... Her people (whoever they are) got her a gig. Decision made. She doesn't have to go to community college or get a job. She got a gig! A gig that finally has nothing to do with AGT, O Mio Babino Boring, and old geezers. THAT is something to be excited about. Your life is in front of you. You're standing at a threshold. You have to sh!t or get off the pot. Take the gig. See what happens. Hopefully Jackie can say, " Who cares who I'm opening for, at least they're more famous than I am right now." That's how she needs to think about this. She's a young adult - welcome to adulthood. Most people would give anything to be her age again? I hope she can feel that. I hope she has such a great experience with Echosmith that it convinces her to join a band and sing her own music without looking back.

That would be wonderful and I think she'll really enjoy the experience, but if she wants to go out on her own with her own band she needs to add a lot of uptempo music or it won't work.

Seems most bands start either from family members or friends getting together.
Here is Jackie with all her friends in Pittsburgh.

That's definitely a requirement. She has demonstrated the ability to charge up an audience - on The Masked Singer and from other random vids. She seems to really enjoy it too.

A gig that finally has nothing to do with AGT, O Mio Babino Boring, and old geezers. No Caz #22 She got that gig and many other gigs because Jackie became famous singing O Mio Babbino Caro/Oh my dear Papa to the upper demo which includes you and Rickky hundreds of times and released several successful albums with over Three Million Units sold and her CC material continues to be streamed. It lead to her deal with Melody Place with excellent creative control that she did not have under Sony so that she can release the original material she could finally record. She also quietly hired new management which got her these dates and BME 2.0 heard in stores. Classical and Pop music have been intertwined well before Jackie was born. You have PBS and AGT to thank for that. Echosmith and Jackie have yet to meet and once they do im sure they will follow each other. And donkey : the Kitty was Jackie's character just like donkey is your character. Updated: A Caz post with the word geezer used

Jackie's OMBC no longer put butts in seats. The Texas show had 500+ seats sold and NY in Nov already has over 300+ tickets sold. And she made her nut in India.

She's had VERY few shows over the last couple of years. She's barely been able to fill half the number of seats in some very small venues. There's little to no demand for her cc concerts the way it is.

Little demand for her cc concerts, and no demand for her new material. If she's just going to sing original material, it's like starting over as an unknown...and we all know the chances of that succeeding. Sure, scattered remnants of her old fan base might follow the new stuff, but that's nowhere near enough to bring any notable commercial success. That being said, I personally really like her original music.

Not sure if this was posted yet: Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! OMG! Desecrating a legendary group like this! It's appalling! Jail time should be involved!
