Exciting development in the quiet life of Anna Graceman! Not sure what this means for her or where it might lead, but pretty cool to see this. Songland 2020 season promo vid, time-stamped to about 1:42

Re: Grace Vanderwaal for Orbit gum.
That was done as a joke for her friends. That was not an add for Orbit Gum or it would have said paid advertisement at the top under her name. That is the exact type of thing that people put on Tik Tok that is supper popular where they try to duplicate something that is popular or heard often. Using the actual audio whether a voice or song.

What a parasitic behaviour <instagram> Grace Vanderwaal having no Premium Account.. So stupid ...as a songwriter. Expecting that everyone else pays for music..but oneself. Totally disgusting. Who knows why she would be on the ad-supported free tier of Spotify, but it doesn't surprise me. Maybe she's frugal. But "disgusting" and "parasitic?" Now you're just being an ass. Besides, the free tier isn't free, the cost is listening to ads every three songs. This instagram post comes off to me like most of Grace's typically wry humor; she's mocking.
Eulenspiegel is just an Emily Bear OTT. Since Emily decided to try her hand at pop music, all other female singers within five years of Emily's age must be insulted at all costs. He seems to think it makes Emily look better when his behavior probably turns people off from ever giving her a listen. Personally, I don't hold it against Emily that she has him as a fan. She can't help it and doesn't have enough fans to afford throwing any under the bus.
I have a free Spotify account. I also have a paid Amazon account. Each major service has strengths and weaknesses. Since I already have Amazon prime, their service comes at a discount. But I think Spotify beats all the other services by a country mile for their playlists and transparency of statistics for artists. So I will often use Spotify playlists to find new artists I like and then add then stream them from my Amazon account.
I have no idea of Grace's exact situation but I do recall her mentioning having an Apple Music account (those are paid only). Musicians will often have accounts with all the major services and keep track of when they are added to a major playlist or made a featured artist (with their picture on the header) and will give a "thank you" shoutout on Instagram and/or Twitter. Grace has done this for Apple, Spotify, Amazon, and Deezer so I would think that she (or her management team) has such accounts. They likely pay for the ones that are pay only and use the free accounts when available.
The idea that Grace is "expecting that everyone else pays for music..but oneself" is ridiculous on even a surface level. She doesn't hope for anything other than people listening and enjoying her music. If they listen on a free account, she makes the same amount of money as when they listen on a paid account. Just as when the over the air radio (free with ads) plays a song, the artist gets paid the same as when Sirius XM (subscription without ads) plays it. Poor eulenspiegel just can't get past his Emily Bear fetish.

My first memory of "My gal is red hot, your gal is diddly squat" behavior baffled me. I remember someone thumbing through my LPs and convulsing in horror when he came across a Carpenters album. "Why do you have THE CARPENTERS!" Umm.. because I do? My brother called the genre snobs among our friends "rock-and-roll rednecks" because of their provincial attitude. I don't own any Emily Bear, and I seldom encounter her outside of this forum, but I kind of adore her. She's wicked talented, she's dedicated and focused, and it's fun to watch her because she really gets into what she's doing. Still, no sale. Just the way it goes, with or without Eulenspiegel's 'helpful' sales pitches. One thing that OTTs have done for me is convince me that they don't do the object of their affection any favors. They're always the ones that attack people on forums instead of simply stating their case. Whether I agree with someone or not, I want to hear them speak the truth as they see it but without all the reductio ad absurdum arguments that do nothing but derail the train and start fights over words and territory.

She is just stingy....same with paying no piano teacher. And yes sorry, I expect that a musician like Grace Vanderwaal has a premium account on Apple and Spotify. And yes, I find it problematic that she very seldom credits the other songwriters under her videos. And yes, her father is Senior Vice President Marketing of LG Electronics - what a marketing fail. Here everyone is making jokes about JE father but then you have to do the same here. And I would criticize it also publicly if Emily Bear would have done this. It is the embodiment of the fails in US society..many egocentric..paying taxes ...Nooooo ..it‘s not my problem that my neighbour does not have health care..and if I have a problem I go to gofundme.

Except for rare special occasions The approximate English translation of what my grandmother would have said to that was something like "showing the whole dairy farm". Not that she was inflexible, just that she tended to think that those a bit past their expiration date should show more restraint.

If they listen on a free account, she makes the same amount of money as when they listen on a paid account. I'm not sure that is true. I believe Billboard counts 1250 paid streams or 3750 "free" streams as 1 album equivalent. This implies that streaming services pay a lot more for paid streams than free streams.

LOL I just mentioned how popular TOKTOK is and Jackie just posted in her stories that she now has a TIKTOK channel.
Edit: Here it is if you can't find it. Cute as hell. Jackie already down loaded quite a bit on it.

She is just stingy....same with paying no piano teacher. Since you were paying attention enough to know she didn't want a piano teacher, you should also have heard her say the reason she didn't want a piano teacher was that she had very bad experiences with them in the past. But don't let facts get in the way of your incoherent rants. In any case, although I don't really see where it is any of your business what she does or doesn't do with her money, I noticed that you didn't mention all the charitable work she has done with her time and money for worthy causes from funding music programs and scholarships for schools in her area to traveling to Kenya to aid Starkey in distributing hearing aids to deaf children. Sounds real a real miser there... And yes sorry, I expect that a musician like Grace Vanderwaal has a premium account on Apple and Spotify. Why? Does Emily have paid accounts with every service or just one? And why would she or Grace or anyone else need more than one? The only reason for adding is to keep track of stats and you don't need a paid account for that as I have proven on this board with stats from my free Spotify account. And yes, I find it problematic that she very seldom credits the other songwriters under her videos. Grace's videos are not posted by her. They are posted through a VEVO account by Columbia Records that is automatically mirrored on her account. Videos through VEVO generally only list the song, the artist, and the holder of the license - not the songwriter. The label also posts to Spotify and does include every songwriter there. The same seems to happen with other artists so I suppose this is a "VEVO thing." It wasn't hard to figure out if you bothered to check. And yes, her father is Senior Vice President Marketing of LG Electronics - what a marketing fail. Here everyone is making jokes about JE father but then you have to do the same here. And I would criticize it also publicly if Emily Bear would have done this. The last full year for which there is data (2018), LG Electronics' revenue was 57 billion dollars and had net income of $1.3 billion and total assets of near $40 billion. That is hardly a fail in an era when many rivals are in the red and I am sure there are any number of electronic firms in Germany that would love to have those numbers on their spreadsheet. By the way, the major retail marketing association in the US has Grace's father in their Hall of Fame and he is considered one of the top experts in the world on retail marketing. Given that, I think he's probably been doing something right all those years. It is the embodiment of the fails in US society..many egocentric..paying taxes ...Nooooo ..it‘s not my problem that my neighbour does not have health care..and if I have a problem I go to gofundme.
I am sure the last few Presidents have all been consulting with 16 year old Grace Vanderwaal when setting their economic policies. Given that she is a very bleeding heart liberal girl from New York City who protested against gun violence, she almost certainly agrees with you on health care.
So, rather than writing posts on things you know nothing about, perhaps you should compose a dissertation as to why Emily Bear is a better pop composer than Gershwin. It will make you feel better and I promise not to laugh.

I believe Billboard counts 1250 paid streams or 3750 "free" streams as 1 album equivalent. This implies that streaming services pay a lot more for paid streams than free streams. That number is for the Billboard charts or RIAA to award gold records. It is perfectly understandable to count streams for a gold or platinum record more important if someone is paying for it. Just as they count actual sales more than listening on the radio. But Spotify merely divides their total income by their total streams and uses that to calculate what each stream will be paid. Spotify is getting their money either through subscriptions or through ads but they are making their money either way. The same applies for YouTube. You can have a paid YouTube account that eliminates the ads.
