The Grace Vanderwaal tour steamrolls on and the videos keep popping up. Of the two below, the first has Grace in one of her three LA shows leading an energetic singalong of the fan favorite "Florets." The second video is the entire show in Santa Ana with a guest appearance by Graham Verchere, Grace's costar in Stargirl, in a duet with Grace on Big Star's 1972 song "Thirteen" (popularized again by its use in That 70s Show). Apparently, a version they have done will appear on the Stargirl soundtrack.

I think she was great and will probably make the finals. However, I don't think she has much of a chance of winning the competition. There have been too many little girl opera singers in the last few years for people to be blown away like they were for Jackie. She is one of the best of the young opera singers who have performed on AGT, but there is a new one each year and I don't think the public can tell the difference between them. To them, she is just one more in a long line of girls singing opera on AGT.What long line of girls? The only ones I recall from AGT were Jackie and Laura Bretan. Now this one. So 3 that I know of. Jackie had the -Profanity- luck of being on before the others and just after the whole Susan Boyle world media frenzy. Of course, Americans were looking for an an answer to that because they still want to stick it to the Brits over 200 years after the revolution. So Jackie happened along and cashed in on the national pride thing as well as being a novelty. If not for Susan Boyle, she would have never gotten as far as she did. Laura Bretan was good but was older so didn't get endeared to the public as much. She still made the Final though. So now there is another 10 year old, and far better than the other two IMO. She will definitely make it to the Final and I think has a shot at winning if she keeps WOWING with her performances like she did this week. I thought I had seen videos for other prepubescent opera singers. Maybe they were from some other version of [fill in a country]'s Got Talent. It would be great if she won and I think she will make the finals but I don't see her winning. There are people who will always vote for a cute kid and those who will never vote for a kid on these shows; there are also a lot of people who will not vote for singers because they think they have an unfair advantage. Finally, people just don't care for opera in general since they don't relate to what is being sung even though they know it is being sung fabulously. As you know, there is a big difference between excellence and popularity and AGT is as much or more about the latter as the former.
Unfortunately, Emanne will probably end up splitting the "cute kid" vote with that annoying little southern girl. If Simon Cowell had not treated that girl unfairly and created a sympathy backlash, she would probably be eliminated. Now I think she will end up in the finals as well. If they also add Charlotte Summers as a wild card (which may or may not happen), that would split the "cute kid" vote even further. It's not that Emanne isn't talented enough - she has impressed me as much as anyone on this year's program, but rather it's a demographic issue. When Grace Vanderwaal won, she had the "cute kid" vote to herself. Darci Lynn split the "cute kid" vote with Angelica Hale but she made up for it with the "I won't vote for a singer" crowd. Emanne has neither working for her and has the opera albatross going against her as well.

Of course it takes a very good IQ for math , not JoJo fans , you think the Z girls or most artists named here have the needed brain cells , perhaps one like a former Miss House , but as dancers go i don't think so . The bright young students in our collages are from other countries that will in time take over the USA , the future needs straight A youths . Book it , look up the drop out rate of USA students in even high schools , do the Math . Ps. bullies are like bad guys with guns as they don't listen what is right , they are of closed minds . The oldest Dance Mom girl is 21 year old Brooke Hyland she just graduated college in 3 years with 2 degrees. Has a 3.4 million instagram following, a week ago moved to LA and has a job in fashion marketing.
Then you have 18 year old Chloe Lukasiak starting college, she lives 4 miles from Jackie and I always wished they would have met. She is going to do college and continue her career at the same time.
Chloe has 6 million instagram followers so she has a big influence on teenagers.

Danica McKellar has 407k instagram followers which is quite a few several times what Jackie has but there is no way she is an influence on teens and young adults as those who have several million.
I never heard of any CEO that has meet and talked to JoJo think she is dumb.
Neither Danica McKellar or Miss House would have the intelligence to operate JoJo's empire like her.
Book it as a fact.
Artemis ( Miss House ) is known for her youtube channel which has 176,554 subscribers not very many when compared to JoJo's 10,190,775 subscribers

She could be one of those folks at an auction yelling "Do I hear $30 ... going once ... going twice..." She is like a really good used car salesman only she sells bows and other trinkets at inflated prices to 10 year old girls ... and she's damn good at it. She simply outworks everyone else since she knows she has x number of years to make her fortune before she become an answer in a future edition of Trivial Pursuit. As for the more sophisticated marketing end, I give her credit for listening to good advice. If you need a certain skill at your disposal, it is important to know you don't have that skill and then find someone who does. Jojo does that ... Jackie's parents did not. As they say, the proof is in the pudding. |
