They deserve it they worked hard promoting themselves all year long and without much national PR.

What do you want, new posts every week and new song every month? Nonstop promotion machine? Songs, great. Indication of life every couple of weeks, great. Constant promotion, doubtless one of the keys to empire, but yuck. Empires use people up. edit: and past some point, commercialism gets a bit heavy-handed, obnoxious, and even gets onto the always have to top yourself cycle that can't win, because it deadens the senses of the viewer and there's only so far one can go down that road and remain alive. Even with food, eat great stuff every day and it gets boring, have to reset and eat ok but basic for awhile to appreciate the great stuff again. Jackie doesn't even put out the minimum effort, Jackie is the one that said she wants an empire, clothing line, makeup, perfume wants it all. Jackie has put out zero effort to get her a younger base like she wanted. You can talk negatively about all the things the others are doing, but they aren't the one that seems totally mentally screwed up. I'm not saying whether or not she SHOULD want an empire, but she doesn't act like she does, AND I think most people give or take Elon Musk would be better off WITHOUT an empire.

Congratulations to Bear and Barlow. Jackie was unlucky that the Grammies eliminated the Classical Crossover category in 2011, the same year that she released DWM.

Why should they have a category like Classical Crossover where the singer sings other artist songs.

I wonder where Jackie will put all those Grammies that she won tonight. I guess she will just have to buy a bigger place!
Did anyone see that big box they gave her to carry her amazing haul? No? Neither did I.

Why should they have a category like Classical Crossover where the singer sings other artist songs. There's still a classical category, right? Almost by definition classical equals well-aged, i.e. NOT NEW. Most of everything is cr@p. That which survives, maybe isn't. Doesn't all have to be what we think of as classical now; no doubt some of the Beach Boys stuff (as an example of something hardly highbrow) will be around for centuries too.

Almost by definition classical equals well-aged, i.e. NOT NEW. Beyond classical, there is a Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category where most or all of the material is covers. In fact, Tony Bennett has 17 nominations and 14 wins in this category. His latest win was yesterday for "Love for Sale", an album he released with Lady Gaga. I suspect there are other Grammy categories which are oriented to covers.
