Agog -- old man ( I say that 'cause you call me son )
I'm pleased that we have returned to a more civil tone in dealing with each other's posts. However, I really am done with this topic and willing to leave it with the understanding that we acknowledge the differences we feel about gun controls. I accept that there are many responsible people that own guns in many countries around the world but there are also those that perhaps should not be permitted to even play some of the violent video games let alone possess a weapon. The unfortunate part is that to make an effective net to catch the unworthy, it may not be possible to prevent those that can properly handle and use a weapon from being tangled into the screen.

I watch/listen to many different sources except that which you must follow from that blowhard Trump and his Twitter machine. When they finally impeach that nut case you will be lost without the Honest Trumpet all the news that is the news. Fortunately you can always tune into the reruns of Laugh-In. I totally agree with you-- but even if Dotard is impeached, Pence or someone else will allow the NRA to control them. Nothing will change whatsoever. In fact, when JFK was killed by a supposed primative automatic rifle, nothing changed then, either. I do not believe it will change in our lifetimes. As a matter of fact: I bet money that AR-15 sales actually SPIKED after that church massacre Sunday

Another mass shooting in Texas today. It seems that mass shootings in the US are becoming very frequent ......almost a reversion to the old west. The last accurate stats for shootings in the US are from 2012 when 259 shootings were deemed justifiable homicides where as criminal homicides plus suicides plus accidental killings number 29,450 for the same period. IMO and I imagine the majority of citizens in the US and from outside of the US believe that the stats overwhelmingly support the need for gun control. The 2nd Amendment clearly needs to be reviewed and updated for the 21st century. It is totally irrational to hold onto an amendment that was founded in the late 1700's. Totally I agree with you

Wanted to know if deaths by gun violence have increased since tRump stole the Presidency! Answer is YES!! The FBI has a web page that lists the number of firearm murders by state and weapon used from 1995 to 2016. This list does not include suicides, justifiable homicide, etc. ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.sClick on the year, then click on Offenses Known to Law Enforcement, click on Weapons, scroll down to Expanded data by offense and click on the link 20 of Weapons: Table 20. You can download the spreadsheet on this page. I compiled a spreadsheet that includes sheets for 2007 to 2016. It's on my Google Drive: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jiuOtu62S4MyDS6hxFAsQDln9Uz5lSXWrvsUzSrozNQ/edit?usp=sharingThe spreadsheet contains statistics for all types of weapons: Firearms, Knives, Other, Hands/Feet, etc. The column C, Total Firearms, contains the number of deaths by firearm, by State for that year. The number of deaths by firearm has been slowly declining since 2007: 10,086, 2008: 9484, 2009: 9146, 2010: 8775, 2011: 8583, 2012: 8855, 2013: 8454, 2014: 8124. "The 2016 presidential campaign of Donald Trump was formally launched on June 16, 2015" en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Trump_presidential_campaign,_2016 Now, look what happens to the Total Firearms column for 2015: 9616 and 2016: 11004. I'll let the reader draw their own conclusion!

I do want to reply to several of your more recent posts on this topic and one a little older. Probably this weekend.

I look at any type of gun control the same as the government setting up free speech areas. Well not completely they may have a little wiggle room on speech but on guns it is quite clear that they added the no infringement clause. If they want to make any gun restrictive law they need to have a constitutional amendment, They had 200 years to do it.

I believe Bambi shooters should be shot themselves. Heck, I might just go hunting myself someday and shoot a human by accident. After all, my eyes are no good.

It's important to be obeyed. It's important that your views be mandatory for others, by law. You've given other people plenty of time to submit to your wisdom regarding how they should behave. One's patience and forbearance grows weary and one must just go kill.

Good this little post will come in handy at your trial. Of course we know the shooters just go after soft targets that can't shoot back so my guess you would pick something a little safer like the rest did.

Question everyone. Isn't this the kind of person we are supposed to be alerting Homeland Security about?

Going after hunters is definitely not a great idea. Challenging maybe but a pretty stupid idea.
