What would a truly "Jackie curious" person find/learn/enjoy about this place? The same thing that those of us presently posting here find/learn/enjoy about this place. And if they prefer a fan forum, there is Rick's forum. If you remove Jackie's name, I'll go away. That will make the trolls happy. That won't make me happy. I like you here.

socalfan, guest should not be allowed to post on this forum. There is no reason to allow it. But you have stated no reason to disallow it. Yes, you can't can't list guest posts by the name of the guest. But you couldn't do that on Amazon either, and they required membership.

I was booted as a mod for announcing I was going to ban BG, give Rickky a three day suspension and maybe delete the Z girls thread. I'm not sure if that is a complete list. It's quite searchable though, unlike the "guest" posts. I do remember opening that post with "If I'm still a moderator here in a few days, I will..." I was booted that day. Lol. Your philosophy would have resulted in a forum that is very similar to Rick's forum. My philosophy is to create a very different sister forum that is a complementary alternative to Rick's forum: minimal moderation, no banning, politics allowed and Z girls allowed. Otherwise, there would be little reason for this forum to exist. (And that is why the Amazon forums were around for so long despite all the alternatives.)

You provided no reason for changing the rule against guest ablity to post. This is the reason: in a minimally moderated forum, the fewer restrictions, the better. There has been no significant change in the forum since that restriction was removed, which implies that that restriction was not necessary in the first place. Incidentally, it was Rick who removed the membership restriction, not I. But that has since worked well and I will leave it as is, unless and until there is a good reason to change it back.

Nothing in your comments required changing the rule that only member can post to the forum. All the goals you list and MORE can be accomplished without changing the rule to allow guest to post. Amazon membership was limited by requiring members to be paying customers, this forum has NO REQUIREMENT to becoming a full member.

You(Admin) changed a long standing rule that had NO EFFECT on the degree of moderation of forum. ALL guest posting here now, or in future, can become members. And your comment is pure BS

You changed a long standing rule that had NO EFFECT on the degree of moderation of forum. The advantage of allowing guests to post is that casual visitors, who would not bother to register, can now express their opinions. I have often visit web pages and wanted to leave an opinion but could not be bothered to register.

It is crystal clear you want to make it as easy as possible for every stray sick troll that pass by to attack Jackie, her family and her fans. You are NOT fooling anyone.

Time to kick the long standing never leaving "guests" out. They can join and become part of the community here if they wish. But it's not my call. At least re-institute the guest thread.

He is going to do all he can to encourage and aid them in continuing to doing so.

It is crystal clear you want to make it as easy as possible for every stray sick troll that pass by to attack Jackie, her family and her fans. Finally, you got it. You are exactly right. I want to make it as easy as possible for stray sick trolls to attack Jackie. And I want to make it as easy as possible for leg humping Chihuahuas, irksome anti Jackie pests, Jackie fans, guests, Crusaders, cesspool waders and Klingons to defend Jackie. That's what minimal moderation is all about: making it easy to post. But even if I wanted to stop attacks on Jackie, how will registration accomplish that? As you have said, any stray sick troll can easily just register and then attack Jackie. Compulsory membership didn't stop attacks at Amazon.

You do want as many sick trolls as possible to continually attack Jackie and her family and fans. Your ridiculous attempt to disguise that fact with faux mocking is beyond juvenile. Of course the attacks will continue, because you enable and encourage them. We all always knew that. But now I understand you are not even going to try to pretend otherwise any longer.

Time to kick the long standing never leaving "guests" out. They can join and become part of the community here if they wish. But neither you nor Rob nor Rick have answered my question: how would converting guests to members improve the forum? Or to put it another way, how has relaxing the registration requirement detracted from the forum? It seems to me that nothing has changed: the same people are posting the same things either way. The only advantage I see of compulsory registration is allowing us to list all the posts of a member, but that feature is mainly useful for moderating members and not important for a minimally moderated forum. I believe that Amazon never had that feature. The disadvantage of compulsory registration is that some posters might leave. And casual poster would be discouraged. I think the cons outweigh the pros.
