It will be easy to see how the public takes to Jackie's cover of Both Sides Now. Jackie monthly spotify listeners is 185295 we will be able to see if that grows much in the next few weeks. I don't know how the general public will even know it is out there. Jackie only mentioned it on her instagram stories an that will disappear tomorrow.

I really enjoyed it, but I'm a Jackie fan who follows what she is doing constantly...and that's often no easy task. lol it won't make any difference to her career. But its nice to hear new music from her all the same.

That's just it...they won't. Unless you follow Jackie, you will just never know. And even if they did, it's not something that's going to draw in any substantial number of new fans....it's just yet another of MANY nice female voices singing this old classic. At least it giver her fan base something new to listen too...you can bet they will like that. Hey, mabye she will do more interviews before that actual album comes out. Can I just say that I love Jackie's new website and album cover? Very pretty and very classy.

No point in doing that more than a week before it comes out, people will forget. Maybe she can get a morning show appearance. Meanwhile, she HAS posted on the usual social media, or at least some of them, and will probably do so again between now and then.

just yet another of MANY nice female voices singing this old classic That pretty much sums Jackie up: another of many nice female voices singing another of many nice classics. Singers these days are lost in the crowd unless they do good originals. Nobody will notice a cover singer because there are just too many good voices out there. This version is not different enough to generate much attention and I expect the same for the rest of the album. Her fans will love it but nobody else will notice.

Yup, and once we heard she was singing Joni Mitchell songs on her album, it was predictable that it would have little effect on the size of her fan base. I will give Jackie credit for a gorgeous new website and a nice job on Both Sides Now. It's just not going to change the game at all for her. But props to her for dealing with her mental issues, healing from the car accident, coming back and completing the make up concerts, getting the new website done, etc. I'm sure it was all a challenge for her.

What is ironic is that for years we were told by Jackie's fans her base doesn't listen to Spotify and other like sites. Now it seem the only place you can listen to Both Sides Now is on Spotify or another streaming service. As for now it isn't on Melody Place Music or Jackie's site.

WoW imagine that, Lisa agrees with me and several others here that have been saying this for year. It's her label on OTT fans that want to keep her in a box and not branch out like Lisa says she could. But then why didn't she record more of those "crazy cool, amazing songs" when she was independent? Because those songs never existed. I have yet to see evidence that Jackie can write music or even lyrics beyond what many girls could write in their poetry. There is nothing stopping her from making demos of any "crazy, cool, amazing songs" she has written with Garage Band and uploading them to YouTube. That being said, the weakness of the songs she co-wrote on Two Hearts was the music - not her lyrics. The lyrics weren't great, but nothing worse than a lot of what is on the radio.

Jackie's new instagram she also posted a link in her bio to Spotify. I think Jackie just has to small of a base for any cover to work for her on a streaming site. http://instagr.am/p/CdOVM4Yr1Zw

Hear Jackie's new song for free without opening an account: soundcloud.com/jackie-evancho/both-sides-nowNote that the song is released by Melody Place so they are still Jackie's label despite all speculation to the contrary.

The lyrics weren't great, but nothing worse than a lot of what is on the radio. i think they existed in some form...I doubt Lisa just made that up entirely. But what mom considers good songs "written" by her daughter aren't good songs to labels. Fred recently said that in an interview, that he's not interested in producing amateurish music that some artists write...needs to be professionally written music. By the way, Melody Place on FB did just post this about Jackie's single release. www.facebook.com/pg/melodyplacemusic/posts/
