just yet another of MANY nice female voices singing this old classic That pretty much sums Jackie up: another of many nice female voices singing another of many nice classics. Singers these days are lost in the crowd unless they do good originals. Nobody will notice a cover singer because there are just too many good voices out there. This version is not different enough to generate much attention and I expect the same for the rest of the album. Her fans will love it but nobody else will notice.Yup! And Jackie and team will still be unsatisfied that they can't gain new (or different) fans. |

1. The Youtube video contains the statement "Provided to YouTube by The Orchard Enterprises". I wonder who they are and how they are related to Melody Place and Jackie. 2. Jackie's recording is published on Youtube but not in Jackie's or Melody Place's channels. So it seems that Jackie wants Both Sides Now to be available for public listening for free, but has put it in an obscure part of Youtube where it is less easily found. This seems to be a self-contradictory strategy and I don't understand it. |

While it does occasionally get dull having a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent, I guess it is the cross I bear.  As I mentioned last time, Sims modus operandi is painfully obvious. It goes something like this: - Sims makes absurd statement.
- Sims gets called out on absurd statement.
- Sims attempts to bolster argument with evidence that does not support his thesis.
- Sims gets exposed by pointing out his evidence does not support his claim and all the actual evidence contradicts his claim.
- Sims disappears and returns a week later in an attempt to rewrite history by claiming he actually said and/or meant something else.
- Sims gets exposed again.
- Rinse and repeat.
We are currently in the rinse and repeat phase of Sims' denial that he claimed the CC Grammy was only instrumental. Well, in fact I quoted him directly from here where he clearly stated in response to Chris R: Ive pointed out that Jackie was considered among Grammy experts for the Best New Artist Grammy in 2011, but that they wouldnt award Grammy's to anyone who was around 11, not even Justin Bieber. There was never a CC Vocalist Grammy, it was only instrumental.
So Sims, if you stated the CC Grammy wasn't for vocalists and it was only instrumental, then one would presume you meant the CC Grammy wasn't for vocalists and it was only instrumental. This is exactly what I meant above. Sims just ignores the reality of his own past record (actually, he ignores reality in general, so why am I surprised?) and now claims he said something else. He doesn't even try to cover his tracks. I was trying to be a good sport when I explained to him how to delete a post (which he also denied users could do on their own), so he could make it a little more interesting but he just drones on without any acknowledgement of what everyone else already knows. Naturally, he again claims I am the same as Socal Fan and Donkey and in the past has said I am also been Disappointed, Richard, and Johnny B. Essentially, if you are not a Jackie OTT, you are all the same person because in his world (and what color is the sky there, Sims?) there can only be one person in existence who is not a Jackie OTT.

There is a company called The Orchid that acts as a distributor for all types of media - including music. I will presume it is the same company. It might be that Melody place was in financial hardship and their assets were purchased by The Orchid or it could be that Melody Place is using them for distribution because of their own difficulties. If either is the case, there would be a certain irony involved as The Orchid is owned by Sony. |

I sure did hit a nerve with Sims with that post. All you need to do to trigger Sims is point out the world has moved on from 2010-2012. I can and have been critical of singers whose music I enjoy (Billie, Grace, Jackie) but OTTs like Sims cannot entertain even the suggestion that something about their darling could be improved. |

Oh SIMS, I am clearly a huge Jackie fan. Your problem is your views about her and the status of her career, as has been pointed out many times, are simply flat out wrong and don't reflect the reality. While there is a lot to like about Jackie and her incredible career, there is a lot to be concerned about as well.
Being a fan to the point of excluding all negative realities is just delusional. It doesn't make you a better fan, it just makes you a delusional fan. Even Jackie's own mom's FB comments over the years about the struggling nature of Jackie's career are views you can't seem to come to grips with. And I guarantee you, Lisa is a far bigger fan of her own daughter than you are. Ignoring the negatives doesn't do Jackie any favors...you can't address what you don't acknowledge, and you can't fix something if you can't even see that it's broken.
You would be like the pilot on the Hindenburg...a big smile on your face the whole way down, proclaiming that there is nothing wrong here and those seeing an impending crash are just not fans of blimp travel. lol
