Jackie will always be able to draw an audience with proper advertising. You really have been brainwashed by Cait's bots. But what advertising can Jackie get she is way to small of a celebrity to get on the major shows and the small local networks didn't seem to make much difference. |

Jackie will always be able to draw an audience with proper advertising. It seems that none of the City Winery locations could advertise properly. Same with Carnegie of Homestead. And judging by her upcoming concerts, no other venue thinks they can advertise her properly either. |

Juliet did lie to me, or at best misled me. I told her the three leading theories about Jackie's disappearance, and she told me they were ridiculous. One of the theories I listed was that she was in a treatment facility for her eating disorder...which as it turned out was true. But on the other hand, she was put on the spot and not in a position to answer said question honestly, so her lie was totally understandable. Juliet did say something on social media that Jackie was "fine, just taking a break...taking time for herself, and that she would give an explanation when the time is right.....True fans should understand that" They were protective and presumably doing what Jackie wanted, and I respect that. However in what may be hindsight, rumor control as well as PR is better served by not less than the least facts plausibly providing an immediate explanation, that will not be contradicted or encourage skepticism when more is eventually revealed. That can be (but except in e.g. military situations like during the 1st Gulf War) should rarely be a selectively misleading truth, because there's always a price to be paid later for being perceived as misleading, and the limited benefit of the doubt for that should only be used when clearly needed. (IMO GHWB understood far better than most how to say something that would not cause problems later while keeping secrets that for a short term needed to be kept - although he didn't always think through the consequences, such as of a future flip-flop.) The hindsight part is that they could perhaps have protected Jackie as well if not better (in terms of future career - which corresponds to stresses of its own) with a statement that offered a bit more information. Although with the family issues as well as Jackie's difficulties (doubtless exacerbated by COVID shutting down much of what she'd hoped to do), it's perhaps normal that people that aren't Kardashians by nature probably do tend to be as unrevealing as possible. But...none of us were actually in their shoes, and nobody (them OR us) always makes the best choices. So IMO the critique of how things went down should at least be a dang sight more merciful. |
