She's popular due to the audience she brought with her from her time on Dancing Mom's. That's it. She can dance and young people who she brought with her like her and her sister. And she can definitely dance. But she's not singer. It would be like if Jackie fans saw Jackie in the one movie she did. She has no acting skill really, but they like Jackie so they go see the movie. I've heard no evidence thus far that Kenzie can sing, certainly not to the point that would make her any kind of pop singing star. Let's get real here. Besides that, think about it. What are the odds that someone who is merely a dancer on reality show is a great singer? Really low. They are just playing off of her popularity from the reality show. Kenzie doesn't even mention Dance Mom she was 12 years old when she left. It was just a stepping stone. Since she left she now has 14.8 million instagram followers, 3.76 million youtube subscribers and 25.3 million TikTok followers. A lot more people think she is more talented than Jackie. She has far more streams than Jackie, her video get far more views. Plus Kenzie doesn't have to live with her dad and buy her own house.
Right now Kenzie and Maddie have their brand in all American Eagle Stores. American Eagle invested a lot to make and put their line in all 1000 store with their displays plus their on line business.
When ever Jackie goes head to head with Kenzie. Jackie falls way short.
Like this disaster.

Kenzie also got her own Justice Clothing line while they told Jackie to get lost. Of course Kenzie's was an original song Jackie's wasn't. Kenzie had her own choreographer and back up dancers.
Her PR team had it right in front of them with Go Time , it was Go Time for finding the youth she needed badly , it was It time , Miller Time , Go Jackie Go Time but/yet no active action was taken , time passed her bye bye . That is why it was a disaster. Jackie's fans loved it but instead of running with the happy Jackie singing pop they continued with the dying CC music and the stand and bark type concerts. They did the same thing to when Jackie was on The Masked Singer. They taught her some good stage presence, then didn't do anything with it. Back to Park and Bark. |

Yes, but how many dancers never turned into professional, successful singers? Most of them. This list is extremely tiny compared to the number of dancers our there. And in Kenzie's case, this isnt even the point. She has no singing talent...so they mask her voice with audio effects and let her popularity as a former reality show star carry the day. That was ultimately my point here. Kenzie's musical success...whatever that is, is based on her personality, ability to dance, and her reality show fame. Jackie's popularity is based on her voice and song material at this point. Kenzie will never be a great singer. Jackie will never change her personality or be on a popular reality show. I think it's folly to compare the two...apples and oranges. Jackie's an accomplished singer...she should be compared to other talented/accomplished singers, not former reality shows kids who aren't singers as they milk their realty show fame posing as singers or actors. |

It really doesn't matter if she's a really good singer or not, as long as people are listening to her, and a lot do. There's probably a lot of people out there, like me, to whom the song means a lot more than the voice. If a like a song, and the singer is doing a decent enough job, I'll listen a lot more readily than I will to a terrific singer who's singing a song that I hate. I think I already made that point. My point wasn't that she isnt having a lot more success than Jackie commercially at this point, or that it matters commercially that she has no singing talent as long as young people are listening to her music. My point is simply that Kenzie isn't a good singer...clearly...and that other factors are involved in her popularity, factors that Jackie doesn't have. Jackie is a FAR better singer, but she isnt very popular today. Interesting dynamics at play. I think comparing Jackie to Kenzie, from a singing perspective, is largely folly. Kenzie isn't a singer...Jackie is. Kenzie is a former reality show star, Jackie isn't. Jackie's fame came from singing. Kenzie's fame and current success comes from being a dancer on a reality show. Kenzie will never be a great singer. Jackie will never be a reality show star. Apples and oranges. Jackie was the star of the reality show "Growing Up Evancho"

LoL...no, Jackie was on a reality show pilot that flopped and was never picked up. Kenzie was a wildly popular reality show for years. Like I said, Kenzie has ridden that reality show fame wave for years and has done a number of things. But make no mistake, any success she has had doing other things is only due to her large fan base following from the reality show supporting anything she does. Hey, all the power to her. |

And people who travel in areas with poor cellular coverage, of which there are still quite a few. They're going to want a purchasable download, independent of a subscription that doesn't do them that much good anyway - even if the streaming service supports temporary downloads for offline playing. I don't understand. As you yourself mention, streaming services support downloading songs for offline playing. Why on earth would anybody ever need to buy songs? How is downloading a song from a streaming service for offline playing any different from buying and downloading the same song? If you buy it, you have it forever. If you have an offline download, it may be in some format that only the streaming player can decrypt and play, with a key that will expire in a few days unless regenerated. So for instance, with the Apple Music app, purchased songs are NOT dependent on the Apple Music subscription (and can even be played by other apps), but downloaded songs from the subscription are, and are not playable if the subscription lapses. For something I know I'll want to hear a number of times over a long period of time, I may buy it. Otherwise (and in part due to Shazam for recognizing songs working together with an Apple Music app AND subscription), I'll probably just get it via the subscription. There are places where cellular is near zero, and unless one has a Starlink, Internet at home is bad to near nonexistent, too. In the extreme, one wouldn't even be able to buy downloads, but would have to wait for snail mail to deliver an actual CD. The real popularity of streaming is IMO two ways: for the cheap, "free" with ads (but often no offline support). For those who like a LOT of variety (or as in my example above, to be able to easily get anything they hear), with a subscription. Not all usage models fit streaming, nor ever will. I worked a long time in a place that allowed no cell phones or other transmitters (and where a radio receiver generally didn't work either), but if you had a job that didn't involve frequent phone calls or visits, you could have permission to bring in a compact CD player and (wired) headphones and commercial pressed CDs (which are not writable). That's a somewhat odd example, but I'm sure there are others where streaming is simply not an option because an Internet connection is not available (or is set up to block streaming or videos; not sure if for example the limited bandwidth on a commercial airplane with Internet would be up to streaming). |
