Yes you can. Grand Funk came from a bunch of relative nobodies and one-hitters. Robert Plant might have faded into history if he hadn't been tapped for Led Zeppelin. A supergroup isn't a super group, it's just what the industry sometimes calls collaborations made up of people who have been popular on their own. Has-beens is probably the first thought of people who form them, or the opposite, go solo (As a Humble Pie fan I snickered when Peter Frampton went solo. Yeah right, he'll never amount to anything). But this is all beside the point. We're not signing off on a new direction for Jackie. It's just an option for discussion. Has-beens making an album is only part of that discussion. The viability and potential success of such a group is (as Msims would say) not up to us. It's just a suggested path she could take. The chick is only 23 years old, she has lots of options. But were Robert Plant and Led Zepplin both famous and successful at one time and then they both faded off into obscurity? Then they got together and both became famous and successful again? Because that would have to have been the case for your comparison to work here. Jackie, Grimm, and Camp were once all pretty famous...and now they are all mostly washed up...their successful days barely visible in the rearview mirror. Putting them together won't likely make any difference. It may if the skills are complementary. Jackie has VOICE and is learning writing, Grimm apparently has stage presence, Camp seems to have writing, producing skills and broad experience.

LoL...anything is possible...just don't bet the farm on it. A new configuration...a new chemistry? Hmmmm.

Of course, keep in mind that in the last decade, Jackie's voice hasn't done anything for her, nor has Grimm's stage presence done anything for him, nor has Camp's writing, producing skills and broad experience done anything for him.

You're one that's argued that songwriting and persona (and maybe other skills) are needed in combination. If they're together in a group, maybe they don't have to be all in one person. You don't get to argue it both ways just so you can hold up a forehead "L".

Shirley Temple was used to being a superstar until she wasn't. She retired at twenty-two. Her career change is history. Retiring from showbiz is an option for Jackie as well, when the time comes that is. Look, I know we're just playing with ideas, but sometimes we find ourselves arguing strenuously for a previous position we held only for the sake of discussion. I'm not married to any suggestion I've made about Jackie, but I do want to emphasize that I firmly believe Jackie should not marry herself to any fantasies either. The last thing I'd want for her is to be crestfallen by normal and natural setbacks. That stuff can send people over the edge. She has to look forward with genuine humility, so that any decision she makes comes from imperturbable resolve rather than desperation.

A 23 year old single girl shouldn't need much to live on until or if she can get her career going again. But you have to remember Jackie has a Daddy to feed. Probably one reason for no boyfriend and never talks about having a family of her own.

And I think I have seen some recent signs that she is beginning to do just that. I think she is coming to terms with the reality of the state of her career and the real possibility of not succeeding in a "comeback". In some of my comments to her recently, I have tried to remind her not to tie her self worth to how well any song or album does, that she's an awesome person and the great voice is just a bonus.

Co-billing is an alternative to nameless immersion in a group. Then it’s only down to resisting the impulse to argue over top billing. Or take turns, depending which might play better to a particular locale.

I'm not sure it's Jackie's cup of tea, although I can imagine her trying it if she felt it was her last remaining best option.

I was so determined to be on my own that I moved out with barely enough in my pocket to pay first, last and deposit on a converted single-car garage in a questionable neighborhood. It was exhilarating. I've always agreed with you that the situation with Jackie keeping an entire family afloat is sad. Now she might be too frightened (whether because of real or imagined circumstances) to push out on her own. I can't imagine the pressure.

If in 2024 at some point Jackie decides to get out of showbiz , then so be it ! Then once in private life can be left alone and let her live a private life ! Jackie is under no obligation to support dear old Dad, he can go clean pools for a living, he is certainly good at laying by them! A career that has lasted for over a decade is nothing to be ashamed of, how about all those singers who’s career’s only last a few years?

Proof AGT is not a talent show but a popularity show. Adrian Stoica & Hurricane won AGT this year yes a dog won out against everyone
The question is Could Jackie have came in second if she just sang the phone book.
