I don't think those lyrics are about only her Mom. I think the lyrics are about the cumulative effect of all those around her: her parents, family, friends, label, fans, media. And about the personified "perfection" in her head. But how did the personified "perfection" get into her head in the first place? It came from all those around her. While her songs (and her comments about the song) seem to address a particular individual, I find it hard to believe that one specific person had the power to do this to her. But it could be that one individual started the concept and everybody else went along. Regardless, the perfect angelic granddaughter label has stuck around since AGT to the detriment of her mental health. Is that her actual personality? Maybe, but I have my doubts. But we may never know. I think the main culprit that led to her problems was her fan base. So many were and still are psychos! They idolized that child and that would be frightening. All the child heard was that she was an angel from heaven, voice of an angel, her family was another Cleaver family, Jackie had an ideal, normal childhood, etc., etc., etc. And it goes on to this day. Jackie doesn't drink, she doesn't color her hair, she's very sweet, blah blah blah. They not only had her on a pedestal, they had the whole family on that pedestal. Some people practically had orgasms if Lisa communicated with them, as if she was someone very special. Clearly, she was not and neither was Jackie. She was an average kid who happened to have a good voice, nothing more. Growing up like that would mess with your head. And it certainly did. An average kid other than the voice? I don't entirely agree with that. She was a very sweet, very well behaved kid, who was was an incredibly creative, right brain thinker. Professionals who worked with her like David Foster were amazed at not just her voice, but her ability to work as a professional on multiple levels with little experience. I think it's too simple and not accurate to say Jackie as a normal kid sans the voice. I disagree with that. A typical kid in a lot of ways? Absolutely. But to dismiss her as a normal kid with a great voice is way too easy and not entirely accurate. It's more complicated than that. She had a level of maturity, a level of creativity, and an ability to focus that were all quite amazing and that most kids that young would be totally unable to achieve. At the risk of sounding a little OTT, I believe that Jackie was/is an amazing human being. Now as an adult, mabye less impressive, but as a young child...extraordinary in many ways. Well, she was a child prodigy, and many child prodigy's brains are wired differently in a number of ways. I think that's partly why she's always been least comfortable around people her age as well...her maturity level and way of thinking is older than her chronological age.

It was more of a cult mentality than anything else, and still is to those OTTs who got wrapped up in it and are still unable to see reality to this day. I have been pointing out for years that Jackie is not who they think she is, not the world's greatest singer, not a budding superstar, etc. It was all a hyped up media blitz and a right place, right time lotto win. She was a kid who sang a genre that hardly any kid even attempts as it is not cool or the in thing, so very little competition, and she had a stage mother who pushed a dream on her, which (I will say this much) did pan out into a big lotto win due to a perfect storm of events. But she never had the actual talent or charisma to have an enduring career like most eventual stars who are discovered or get a lucky break, they did have the talent and would have likely become successful over time anyways. And Lisa led those nutty old coots on, knowing many of them weren't right in the head, because they had the money to spend on the expensive eBay items she sold, and the time to run around the internet promoting Jackie. In the early days, she would hold very early morning chats with them and they would discuss how Jackie was going to be the next big thing, fill arenas, go on big tours, etc. The OTTs gobbled it up like candy and you're right, they worshipped her, and Lisa in turn gobbled up that worship. Those chats were to be only for the very OTTs and they were only to invite other OTTs. I was lucky enough (lol) to get an invite from another poster who thought I was more OTT than I was and when I showed up, Lisa right away asked who if anyone knew me or could vouch for me and the person who invited me did so. She did that with a couple of others as well and one person that no one could vouch for was told to leave, or else the chat would have to end. I also clearly remember Lisa saying "Spies! Spies everywhere!". LOL. Funny, funny stuff now that I look back on it. But at the time, I was curious as to what was happening behind the scenes and the future plans. I do recall one time though where they went too far even for her. A couple of them photoshopped a picture of Mary and the baby Jesus and cropped Lisa's face onto Mary and Jackie's face onto the baby. They then called Lisa "The Great Mother" and Jackie was, I think called "The Chosen One" or something very near that. Lisa did tell them to stop using that picture. LOL. But that's the mentality that went on, and was mostly encouraged.

But that's the mentality that went on, and was mostly encouraged. All of the Lisa stuff aside, to say, or even imply that as a child Jackie wasn't massively talented is of course nonsense. She made it to the finals of AGT and was strongly favored to win that. She sang with brilliant vocal talent all over the world. She worked with the likes of David Foster, a person known to recognize great talent and help nurture it. We've all discussed the reasons her career faded over time...limiting genre, unable to translate child career success into adult success, the challenges of successfully changing genres, lack of a strong stage persona as an adult and lacking good original song writing material, etc. But where you always trip up and get it wrong, is when you say Jackie had little to no talent - she just got lucky. Everyone who makes it big gets that lucky break...so bringing it up in Jackie's case is irrelevant and just makes you look like you have an agenda. She was clearly massively talented (and still is). Lose that part of your argument and you will come across as much more credible as much of what you say is in fact true. The fact is that Jackie had an awesome career that spanned a decade...before covid hit and sort of mostly finished off a career that had pretty much run it's course by then anyway...it just sped up the end of it. Now of course, she is trying to reinvent herself and have a second career, aka Jackie 2.0. It's a LONG shot to be sure. By the way, many very talented people never get that "Lucky break" and never make it big...so not making it big isn't a reflection of their talent level. Also, saying if they are truly talented, they will make it big one way or another eventually is also completely untrue. Making it big in "the business" is in fact a lot like winning the lottery...you need talent, but you also need hard work, perseverance, and a lot of luck.

I wouldn't know most of that, because I was interested in where her career would go, but was never exactly a fan, I never belonged to, or even read at any fansite. Amazon was the only place that I occasionally participated, but by reading there, and the comments under most of the articles written about her, I understood how crazy some of her OTT's were. It both saddened and scared me for her future, but it was, and still is, fascinating. And incredibly, it still goes on to this day.

I have previously said she had a talent AS A KID for singing opera songs, but no more so than other young talent show kid opera singers like Emanne Beasha, Laura Bretan, Amira Willighagen or Patricia Janeckova. The difference being she got on at the right time and in the right country. That was the luck. Was she "massively talented"? No, she was talented with a caveat that it was a genre few kids sang or were interested in. And she would not have either, if Lisa would not have pushed and encouraged it. How many other kids in the world had parents with no interest in that genre so never did sing it, who may have been better than anyone? And the others I mentioned either came after her so did not get the media blitz, or were born in smaller countries so also did not get that same attention. If she was and still is so "massively talented" as you claim, then why was she booted off in the first round of the subsequent Got Talent show she entered, such as AGT: The Champions and the World's Got Talent, where Foster bulled the female judges to save her. But then she promptly got booted again. Surely that would not happen to someone with such massive talent. And the fact that anything she has tried since has amounted to nothing speaks volumes about such alleged massive talent that no one seems to be able to recognize except for you and your other OTT buddies.

Of course, I never claimed any of that nonsense. I merely pointed out the obvious...there are a lot of aspects of Jackie that were VERY unusual for someone her age, besides her vocal ability. Charactersiics are not uncommon for child prodigies, but are VERY uncommon in young children. Jackie was typical of others her age in some ways, in others, not so much. That's just observable, objective fact.

And one only survives this.. reaches the goals if one has the work ethic… which Jackie Evancho as most people never had. Jackie Evancho had a nice voice for a 10 year old…but far from being a prodigy…and as she never really invested into her voice…it‘s over …she never had a chance.

I think that's partly why she's always been least comfortable around people her age as well...her maturity level and way of thinking is older than her chronological age. It is just the opposite, Jackie's maturity level has always been much lower than her chronological age. Especially when compared to other celebrities that were or is her age. Could Jackie take an acting job and live in Romania for 8 month with out any friends or family members along like Jenna Ortega. I imagine Grace had to live on set pretty much when making her movies. Don't tell me a 23 year old closer to 24 year old that doesn't have friends and has to have her daddy around 24/7 is mature much less more mature than other celebrities.
Just because her OTTs called her a child prodigy doesn't make her one. What is this gift Jackie has that made her a prodigy. Lisa never liked that term. I remember Lisa once laughing at someone comparing Jackie with Akiane Kramarik, Lisa saying Akiane is 1000 time more of a prodigy.

First of all, the amount of effort a child prodigy puts forward has nothing to do with whether they are a child progidy. Its the body of work they are able to crank out at a high, adult level. Jackie certainly qualifies there. Go back to sleep, your bizarre comments about American music in general and Jackie at times, are laughable and easily dismissed. lol

Jackie was mislabeled from the start, calling her an Opera prodigy was a complete disservice to who Jackie really was. She was a little girl with a big voice, nothing more nothing less. Her acting skills were horrendous to say the least, kind of like Elvis. He couldn’t act but F it , let him sing all his dialogue. ROFL!

I don't buy that Jackie was ever a prodigy. She was unusual for her age, even precocious, but age leveled her off pretty quickly, to the extent that she was just another girl with some vocal skills.
Constant praise, whether warranted or not, is not good for a child. It is a fact that children that are given undo praise develop a reward bias that tends to favor doing what the adults want instead of exploring or deep-diving. Go for the cookie and the participation trophy instead of actually learning how to play piano or sing properly. Indigo child, angel, prodigy - all utter nonsense.
What kids need is encouragement and guidance, not stage moms and pool pops who can't see beyond their own lust for trophies.

I hoped for better from you than that incredibly weak response. I made some very specific points about what made Jackie very atypical as a kid, and instead of addressing them, you just spouted off some pre-canned response that she wasn't sent from heaven and won't cure cancer. Of course, I never claimed any of that nonsense. I merely pointed out the obvious...there are a lot of aspects of Jackie that were VERY unusual for someone her age, besides her vocal ability. Charactersiics are not uncommon for child prodigies, but are VERY uncommon in young children. JE was never a prodigy…btw. this whole prodigy thing is nonsense..but even if you think that there are prodigies… she totally lacked the most important part…work ethic, hard work, ..as 5% are talent…but 95% are dedication, 24/7 hard work …even Mozart would habe been a nobody without the drill of his father from an early age. And one only survives this.. reaches the goals if one has the work ethic… which Jackie Evancho as most people never had. Jackie Evancho had a nice voice for a 10 year old…but far from being a prodigy…and as she never really invested into her voice…it‘s over …she never had a chance. She didn't work hard because she got to where she was with very little work, she admitted that herself. And since she was told that she'd win an untold number of Grammy's and awards, she'd be unbeatable, she believed it. And why wouldn't she? She believed that she was a special as she was told she was.

That's just observable, objective fact. I didn't expect better from you. OTT to the core. Go type a message to Jackie on one of her social media sites, maybe she'll respond!!! WOW! LoL...you are teetering on pathetic here. If you can't even engage in the most basic of debates/discussions, how are you doing to succeed at anything here? I made some very objective, basic points. Address them or go back to sleep. Your "wow" fell flatter than your debate skills. ROFL
