hey people ! this is 2024 , you think we could talk about Entertainment of the days of today , move forward , look ahead , live in today , the passed is the passed , it is what is was , myself knows very little of today Entertainment as i see mostly streaming sites an you tube , the history of singers is stale news , are any winners of the today talent shows a stand out good ? . Talent shows are as boring as their history. The last good thing I saw on a talent show was the big Hawaiian dude with a ukulele. After he won American Idol I thought I'd be out there following him, but like Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, I just listened to a song or two and never bought an album. Before that I liked Alejandro Aranda (a.k.a. Scary Pool Party) and I was absolutely certain that I would immediately scoop up his albums. Didn't happen. Don't know where he is or what he's doing. Alejandro did all originals like Grace, but Grace stuck and Alejandro didn't. For me talent shows are not the most productive places for discovering music. These kind of national televised talent shows are all about getting exposure...its the best way I know of for an unknown to get that and get it fast. It's an awesome opportunity. You don't even have to win it to be successful. Sometimes those who leave in earlier rounds have more success than the winners. You never know who the public will really like and whose career might take off from it. But it's the best shot most people will ever get.

Does that mean OTTs that all singers have (every singer has them) or just the ones that Jackie has?

Discovering music.
Does anyone here actually listen to music? "When I was your age..." listening to music was an intentional activity, alone in groups. You sat down, put on an album, closed your eyes, and listened.
It seems to be an age thing. The older I get the fewer people around me seem excited by new music. I find myself in the minority now when it comes to staying current.
I might be wrong, but Jackie fans also seem less interested in exploring. There are exceptions, but to put it another way, the "other artist" sections of Jackie forums have never been busy places.

People can carry a few thousand songs in their pocket, or stream from millions. If you have whatever you want, whenever you want it, you don't value it so much. And pop and mainstream rock especially get ever more formulaic. Hard to get excited by new if it's just old in new disguise. Not that music hasn't always borrowed from the past, but not as much, I think. I've got CDs or downloads from Angelina Jordan and Sterre van Boxtel and others, as well as lots from the 70's onward (and some from earlier), if not every genre. Once in awhile I'll even go to a non-Jackie concert, if it's close. But no other performer will motivate me to undertake the discomfort of non-trivial travel. OTOH, I have very little interest in talking about other performers, even if I enjoy listening to them.

There are exceptions, but to put it another way, the "other artist" sections of Jackie forums have never been busy places. Classic 70s rock has been my musical preference for many years. Recently, I started to listen to music from the 60s and 80s to expand my horizons. From the 60s there are some fantastic musicians - anything from James Brown, Janis Joplin, the Doors, Motown, to the girl groups like the Supremes. From the 80s, I enjoy the New Wave and Post-Punk sounds from the Cars, Devo, Men at Work, Soft Cell, Joe Jackson, etc. The classic rock musicians from the 80s produced way too many ballads for my taste - except there is some cool stuff from GunsNRoses, Metallica, etc. One thing I did learn about the 80s is that there was an emergence of Rockabilly songs. It is tempting to post some of those 60s and 80s videos here, but most people in the forum have likely heard those songs already.

Fair enough on all of the above points. I also like "re-discovering" music I never paid much attention to. YouTube reaction channels are good for this because you get different perspectives. Yesterday I listened to Nick Lowe's "Cruel to be Kind" on Andy and Alex's channel. Then "Rock Lobster" by B-52s and "Sultans of Swing" by Dire Straits on This Is It reactions. The first one is a couple of college age dudes, and the last two is a trio of older hip-hop fans. Two completely different directions toward appreciating something that wasn't on their radar. I like to see that.

I like to see that. It is really fun to see the younger generations starting to listen to music we grew up with. Quite a few of these folks say they had a pre-conceived notion about rock and roll thinking it was all about headbanging and long hair. Lots of them are shocked when they listen to songs from Boston, Journey, Led Zeppelin, Kansas, Pink Floyd, etc. They can't believe us old farts were smart enough to appreciate solid artistry. This is my favorite reaction channel -Rob Squad Reactions

He isn't being honest with Jackie, thats the point. Ultimately the people you allow here, want credibility but cannot confront Jackie, Mike, or Lisa when she was around and tell them honestly how they felt about their actions in advancing her career or the management of her career. They like to dance around it in a passive aggressive way too or go after me as if im an ambassador for all fans actions in the past, go ahead I don't care. Doing it behind an alias or an account and others. Careers can decline like Santana's and then have a huge comeback as well, theres always room for improvement in a career thats not the point. Just don't hide behind an alias and play games. Man up. LoL..msims, Ive explained it to you multiple times. I don't know what else to tell you. I dont know if you are just too dimwitted to get it, or if you are trolling. One more time for kicks. You go to a celebrity's website or fan page to gush and support them. You dont go there talk about their career struggling. That would bei inappropriate, and that would likely get you booted from said website. Jackie's not stupid, she is well aware of the state of her career. This forum here is not a fan webiste or Jackie's social media. Here, it is appropriate to discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly of Jackie's career. You will note that I never say anything bad about Jackie as a person here. But I am honest about her career state. LoL...if you don't get that msims, you are either a complete dimwit, or trolling. Either way, I'm done trying to explain the obvious to you. All you could have done or at least admitted to was asking a simple question, "When are you playing more dates?" or "When are you booking dates to support your new album?". What is offensive about that? Maybe you just don't want an answer in case it doesn't fit into your narrative. The narrative as far as struggling when she can book gigs (in between album releases) and make $30k+. Thats not struggling, thats very good and that doesn't fit your narrative issues. Trolling is when a person cannot moderate themselves and purposely as you have done write what you know isn't true. Also forums are created for fans and being objective as a fan was historically what amazon was about, OTT and M&G have nothing to do with the history of amazon of which ive been apart of the whole time. You weren't there and neither was ChrisR or Danny Boy. However I have shown stats that showed her followers count increased after TMS and The River video was put out. Considering Rickky goes on an on about that for years, you would think thats relevant. So how many of Jackie's 820K followers do you think are active? Immaterial. When the new album is released, her charting position will be based on streams from all platforms as well as singles sales and albums sales. Spotify you are referring to paid Snoop about 40k or so for a song that had over a billion streams and the reason was because: that song had multiple songwriters. All of the Stars is her most streamed song, anyways thats why artists tour.

Olivia Rodrigo will probably get over 30k for filling a 20,000 capacity Arena that she rents out. Not Jackie working for a night club where she is just the guest singer.
