Solla is an incantation to "celebrate the loss of something or someone you loved". I don't think it is perfection because that was not something that she ever loved. Rather, perfection was something that was forced unwillingly on her by some people around her. Perfection was a burden that she was happy to get rid of. So I think that "something" is CC. CC was brought Jackie fame and fortune and changed her life. So she very much loved it but she now realizes that there is no long term future in CC. So she has made a "deliberate renunciation" of CC, "consciously deciding to relinquish it to an earlier part of her life". How successful this switch will be is yet to be seen. Oh, I definitely think it is perfection. An obesession is something you embrace (until you realize how unhealthy it is)...it becomes everything to you. She said she embraced it when she was younger, and thought it was the right way to be...so she welcomed it. It was with her 24/7...it was her everything. It wasnt until later that she realized it was a bad thing and was damaging her mental health. Almost all she has talked about in recent years pertaining to music on this EP has been losing this obsession with needing to be perfect. She also said someone(s) who worked with her instilled that perfection drive in her and that they will know who they are when they hear the song, "Get out of My Life". Its all about perfection. You think she wrote a song teliing cc music to get out of her life and out of her head? She could stop singing that today if she wanted. Um, no. She doesnt hate cc, and she is still singing a lot of it, even in tomorrow's concert. Jackie doesnt hate her childhood career or the music she sang during it...she has said she looks at it fondly and will never stop singing that type of music. CC music gave her everything professionally...and adoring fan base, fame, money, a singing career, travel, etc. Even though she was tired of being seen as a little girl, and wanted to be seen as the grown woman she is, that's not something stuck in HER head either. She doesn't want cc music "out of her life" or "out of her head". She would like to add more music from more genres to her repertoire though. lol On Jackie's twitter post about Solla, she left the word "something" out of the definition: 𝙎𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙖 | n. an incantation whispered privately to yourself t o celebrate the loss of someone you loved, which almost makes it feel like a deliberate renunciation, consciously deciding to relinquish them to an earlier part of your life. This definition is related to the lyrics in "Get Out of My Life", which Jackie specifically said refers to the people who pressured her to be perfect. Solla does not refer to "something" such as perfectionism, but to "someone". We don't know who the 'someone is, but I believe it refers to Lisa

These were compulsive thoughts however were, and she couldn't get them out of her head, even going to sleep at night. Now, she did say there was one or more people who pushed her to be perfect in her past professional life, and they know who they are, but the SONG isnt directed at that person or those people, its about what they did to her. Those people weren't stuck in her head. The perfection they planted was. Jackie made it clear way back when she first posted this song that the song was about her mental health, and "by the way, the people who made her that way are well aware of who they are" - paraphrase. And you'll note is says someone or something on her Instagram post. In reality, she had to stop being around whoever put his pressure on her as well the perfection obsession....but the song isnt focused on the person, its focused the mental illness. This is an album and song about her mental illness, not going after a person. And besides, think about it...little Jackie isnt going to write and sell a song telling someone directly "You suck, shut the hell up, and get the hell out"...that's not Jackie. It's going to be about her issues. The by-product is those people who hear the lyricis will know who they are as they know what they did to her. And theoretically, Solla could in fact be all encompassing as far as its meaning to Jackie...it could be referring to both the person(s) and the perfection to her personally. But the lyrics "get out of my life" aren't directed at a person. But one could be forgiven for thinking that...that's what I thought at first. But listening to Jackie talk about it at the time, I realized it wasn't. n. an incantation whispered privately to yourself to celebrate the loss of something or someone you loved, which almost makes it feel like a deliberate renunciation, consciously deciding to relinquish them to an earlier part of your life.

I posted this about a month ago, summarizing her statements in the video: Jackie's statements in the Instagram post indicate that "people" around her were the source of the issues surrounding her need to be perfect: -She states that she listened to the people around her that sent her a message that she has to be perfect. -She said that when growing up, all she was told (by people) was "it has to be perfect", or it is not worthy of being seen or heard. - Being told (by people) that unless you want to do the thing you love most, it has to be perfection. -After growing up she has discovered that she doesn't need everyone's approval (that's people)- She says the song is directed towards certain people and when they hear it, they will know who they are.
-Finally, she says this song is exactly about this: all these people telling her she needs to be perfect
Jackie's statements about the lyrics are very clear and there's no need to interpret their meaning. She says word for word that the song is about people. www.instagram.com/reel/Ct9E8jfAv1R/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA%3D%3DThe lyrics are self-explanatory that they are about a person (or people): Stop telling me how to look what to be..(that's people) Start looking at yourself (perfection is not going to look at itself) You seem to need.... Sympathy Empathy Don't remember asking for your... (perfection is not going to need sympathy or empathy, but a person would) Help is nothing you would newer ask for (perfection is not going to ask for help, but a person would) What exactly are you taking me to task for? Come to think about it I'm over it!! Honestly... Tell it to somebody else...(perfection isn't going to tell anyone anything, but a person would) I tried Tried to do right in your eyes. (this could be directed towards perfection, but is more likely directed at a person) You where the light of my life...(directed toward a person) My morning, my day, my night. (She lived with Lisa 24/7) I paid my debt Finally out of my head! (This could be directed at perfection as she internalized what someone said) I'm trying out self love instead. (she didn't get love from a person, so she will get it from herself) So shut up & get out of my life!!!!! (could be directed at both perfection and a person) You're ridiculous thinking that I'm gonna miss The opinions and critiques. (directed at a person) Thought I'd adore all those tears that. You ignored!!! I could say it's never as it... Seems like somebody is getting what they ask for. (that's a someone, not a something) Told me that you said those things to... Even out the score. ( a person would do that, but perfection would not) But this aint a game and... I quit! What a shame! I'll attempt to give a shit! I tried Tried to do right in your eyes You where the light of my life... My morning, my day, my night. I paid my debt Finally out of my head! I'm trying out self love instead. So shut up & stay out of my life!!!!! You where the thing that was killing me slowly. (sounds like it was directed at a perfection ) The cancer trying to poision my body. I found my worth and it's radioactive!!! I found my source of my pain and it's massive Tried to locate your heart...(a person has a heart, but perfection does not) But I found none I learned too late that you newer had one. (that's a person, not a thing) So sick and tired of trying to outrun! I tried Tried to do right in your eye You where the light of my life... My morning, my day, my night. I paid my debt Finally out of my head! I'm trying out self love instead. So shut up & get out of my life!!!!! You make me sick.

We'll see how many of the people who've grown up with her stick around, but I doubt many mothers are going to take their little girls to see her anymore. Those little girls grew up. Evidently 50,000 showed up to listen to her at pride week. In 2 weeks JoJo new video has 25.5 million views and is #3 on youtube trends. That is one hell of a coming out in a new direction. To tell the truth I didn't think JoJo could pull this off. Yes, as of now 25.7M views, 229K Likes, 1.7M dislikes. That's 6 times as many dislikes as likes. However, that's a lot of likes. Were the tickets to her last huge show purchased before or after the video came out?

I considered Lisa when this song first came out. It's not Lisa. If you think that Jackie wrote a song saying those angry things to her own mom, and put it in an EP and sold it, then you have no idea who Jackie is and clearly haven't been very exposed her over the years. Jackie doesn't confront like that, certainly wouldn't confront her own mom like that...publicly especially, and then try to make money off such a confrontation. Those sort of actions go against everything Jackie is as a person. Like I said, back when I thought it might be Lisa at the very beginning...even though I had a hard time believing it...Jackie talked about the song some more. It became quite clear to me after listening to her that while there was a person or some people "in the industry"...yes, thats what she said (she's speaking of professionals she has worked with/for, not family members), who put his pressure on her to be perfect...and they would know who they are by listening to the songs lyrics as they know what they did...the lyrics themselves are not speaking directly to those people, but are addressing the mental illness that she struggles with. Also note that she is "tryng self-love instead". The is the antithesis to trying to be perfect and never being satisfied with anything you do...and also feeling no self-worth except for your voice. She's not talking about her mom, or a person, she's talking about fighting the thing in her head that results in her treating herself so badly. Jackie doesn't write songs focused on blaming other people and ragging on them. She has been writing songs focused on her struggles with mental illness. LoL...it's okay, you have a right to be wrong. The fact that you are doing it so thoroughly is quite hilarious though. ROFL

She has been writing songs focused on her struggles with mental illness. Shape up and fly right. Show Jackie more respect than that. By the way, your last post was waaaaay too long and took forever to scroll through...try to shorten them up. It was light years longer than mine. Your projection didnt work. ROFL

ROFL BS, read what I said in bold above (that's not certain people that refers to a certain someone" This is what I said in an earlier post - not referring to a "certain someone": This definition (of Solla) is related to the lyrics in "Get Out of My Life", which Jackie specifically said refers to the people who pressured her to be perfect. Solla does not refer to "something" such as perfectionism, but to "someone". We don't know who the 'someone is, but I believe it refers to Lisa.
My post was long because for some reason proboards double spaced the sentences. Jackie in her own words said the song was about the people that made her feel that she needed to be perfect. You just don't like when anyone calls you out on your own BS. ROFL!!!! Well, at least we know you aren't a fan because you don't believe what she says about her own work.

My first thought was the song was about her fans. Seriously, that was my first impression. Since the JEFC days I felt that the pressure of constant praise, the every-song applause, cheering and attention seeking from the front-row crowd, the gift from god and indigo child mythology, she can do anything better than anyone, etc., etc., and on and on, was going to break her somehow. My first-thought reaction to the song reflected my own desire, early on, to run away from the clown show. I was an annoying enough Jackie evangelist, so there was also some anti-nostalgic self-loathing and projection in there. Sing it, Jackie! I believe it!

If this is the source from where Jackie acquired the definition of Solla, then she deliberately removed "something" in her tweet while leaving "someone". Case closed

If this is the source from where Jackie acquired the definition of Solla, then she deliberately removed "something" in her tweet while leaving "someone". Case closed Case not closed. Her Facebook and Instagram posts have "something" left in. Twitter/X has a length limit. At most that implies one is a better fit than the other, not that both don't apply.

The guest account was talking about her instagram post where she was told growing up to be perfect, im thinking it was a vocal coach Jackies referring to. I remember Lisa took her to vocal coaches back then and they tried to change her voice and also Yvie for quite a while. Sure Lisa was her coach but I seriously doubt she would have said that. Lisa so doesnt come across as a perfectionist. Lisa so doesnt come across as a perfectionist. I suspect a lot of is was unreasonable boyfriend. As for Lisa, she's still Jackie's mom. But perfectionist or not, she was driven, both herself (like when she was traveling with Jackie even while in considerable pain) and by implication, probably driving those around her as well. That's a form of pressure. I don't know that one would blame someone for what they also put themselves through, but it's still there.

Ooops, you just screwed up. Now I know you don't even believe what you are saying, since you just said Jackie that the song is all about certain people. Clearly she never said that, so now you are just making stuff up. LOL By the way, your last post was waaaaay too long...try to shorten them up. It was light years longer than mine. Your projection didnt work.
She just said there were some people who will hear the song and know they are responsible for her perfection problems. She didnt say the song is about them specifically or addressing them directly. You really think Jackie wrote a whole song about blaming someone for all her problems instead of focusing on the mental illness itself? I admit I wondered at first, but as I listened to her discuss it further, I realized what she is actually saying. And in any event, even if you thought the song is only about this person, I guarantee you it wouldnt be about Lisa. She said its someone in the music industry, not her family. And she wouldnt attack her own mom like that, especially putlicly....that's crazy. Just a year or a year or two ago she was calling her mom her hero in an interview, by the way. LOL
