Time to check in on how Jackie is doing streamwise. Twelve or so days ago, I mentioned that there had been an uptick (albeit slight at the time) and the combined versions of BME were at 75,000+ on Spotify. At the time, the original version had been at ~57,000 and the radio version (2.0) was ~18,000. Now the original version is at 58,000+ but the radio version has had a significant stream increase to 42,000+ (more than twice where it was 12 days ago). So now the total has jumped in 12 days from 75k to over 100k. BME2.0 is now the most streamed song of Jackie's in recent weeks ("To Believe" is #2 and her cover of "All of the Stars" is #3).
Now I am well aware that this may be nothing compared to the streaming numbers for Billie, Olivia, etc., but this is significant for Jackie in a genre where she is trying to get exposure. Right now, I would say she has actually begun to exceed my expectations for where I would expect her to be at this point in her transition. She has a single that is just starting to get traction and has some radio airplay. Let's see where this might go.
That's more or less consistent with what I see for radio, except #2 is How Great Thou Art (due to a number of stations of a Christian radio network playing it), and some other differences below #1. onlineradiobox.com/artist/334346533-jackie-evancho

There was one creep who really made my skin crawl. This creep set up a Jackie Shrine in his living room and called himself the Heavenly Angel. 🤢🤮 I remember Heavenly Angel well. He was by far the most prolific poster in the original Jackie Evancho Fan Club forum (but I joined the forum for free without joining the JEFC). If I recall correctly, he had something like 12K posts in a relatively short period. At that time, Lisa followed several JEFC members but then she decided to stop following them. Heavenly Angel was so offended that he left in a huff, never to return. I wonder what happened to him. I think it is unfair to call him a creep. He was obviously a very dedicated fan who worshipped Jackie but I don't recall him ever doing anything creepy. Building a shrine shows dedication, not creepiness. There were many dedicated fans in those days and I did not see him as different from any of the others.

I am starting to get why they decided to give BME another go with the 2.0 version. While it does not have a "come out and grab you" hook, it does become a bit of an earworm with repeated listening. Also, while it is most likely about depression, it does not hit you over the head with it. If you were unfamiliar with Jackie's past, you could take the song a number of different ways and read your own preferred meaning into it.
Looking at the streams, after being dead a month ago, it is starting to pick up. I am counting both versions together since a search for the song name could give you either one or both. But together it totals close to 75,000 and picking up steam ever so slightly. I also noticed that five playlists have added the song in the last few days. They aren't the playlists with the largest audiences but that is unlikely until others add you. Still, just being on even a minor playlist can add streams. Playlists are the new radio stations and someone can get hundreds - even thousands - of streams a month just by being added to the right playlists. So she may get a slight jump in her numbers in the next few weeks.

I'm sure some people have what might approximate shrines for sports figures, etc. Not saying that's over a line nobody should cross, but it's over my line, esp. since a deceased relative painted a lot, so I don't have much free wall space. Not to say I don't have signed copies of most of the CDs, a signed hat, a few signed posters (not yet on the wall), etc. But no dedicated display case, nor any particular interest in that. And the time one of her gowns was available in exchange for a hefty donation to something or another, I didn't even consider it. I'm not a collector per se, esp. not for investment or resale purposes. And being Protestant, I'm not even fond of shrines to saints or Mary, let alone any relatively conventional status mortal, however awesome.

There were many dedicated fans in those days and I did not see him as different from any of the others. It's a fine line. He was definitely enthusiastic, as were most of us. The creepy part comes in for me when I think about that shrine being in his living room, and whether he was dating, was married, or had kids. Maybe creepy isn't the word, but I can imagine the reactions of anyone visiting who has never heard of Jackie, or has never been wrapped up in fandom of anyone. Weird if not creepy. It's not every day you see a grown man devoting a whole wall of his living room to a pre-teen singer. I never thought it was particularly weird for an adult to be a fan of a young singer, but there were particular fans who threw off weirdly obsessive vibes about Jackie. Even just aesthetically, I would think it was weird if I walked in someone's living room who had dedicated a whole wall to some basketball player, or baby Jeebuz. In Latin America maybe, but it's not typical in the U.S. Some things just raise eyebrows, or questions.

Here is singer that isn't well known that just put out a music video and has nearly 4 million views in 3 days. Madison is only 1 year older than Jackie, and hadn't had any of the breaks Jackie has had. I believe she really had one big break and that is when Justin Bieber posted a video of hers. Justin Bieber was one of those that were going to fade away unlike Jackie because because his fan were going to out grow him.

The cabal became the penguin waddlers. Personally, I didn't mind that group much, but what got old is the incessant OTT posts from a few members. One member there had thousands of more posts than everyone else and the posts were filled with ooey, gooey sickening nonsense, all geared to gain favor with Lisa. There was one creep who really made my skin crawl. This creep set up a Jackie Shrine in his living room and called himself the Heavenly Angel. 🤢🤮 Not that any of this matters anymore (beyond attachment to nostalgia) , but my impression is that his name "Heavenly Angel" was meant as a reference to Jackie, not a reference to himself. FWIW, I didn't care for him either. He had a habit of clicking on "dead" threads just for the purpose of clicking the "Like" button on his own posts, to artificially inflate the total number of likes on his posts. Who does that? A sick mind, IMO.

I can’t understand for the life of me why you’re defending this person. Hmmm, family member perhaps?

This is the first video of hers that I've seen, so take this for what it's worth, but clearly some of those 4 mil views were for the taboo aspects of a murder story, a fem-fem hookup, and some big lips, but I see no special talent here that extends beyond that, but maybe I came in at a bad moment.

Most people are ignorant poops, so popularity is not a compliment, no matter how profitable it may be.
