I disagree trying to use something you did at 10 or 11 years old to open doors will more than likely close them.
It should only have been a stepping stone.
Wrong...her past fame is the only thing that gets her interviews. It's the only thing that got her on TMS. It's the only thing that gets her the few concerts she has left. Without her past fame, nobody knows who she is, nobody cares. But that's her big problem and difficult to overcome. Her past was the little opera singer, and although she wants that to be her past, it's still pretty much her present because she's still singing a lot of that music from the past. And she's still a park and bark singer singing How Great Thou Art in a bar. It's not her fault because that's what she's still known for, she started off singing CC music and was just a little kid, and it's difficult for little kids to switch gears and maintain an adult career. Had she had more original songs, even if she didn't write most of them, changed her image and started performing with a small band when she was in her late teens, maybe the new Jackie would have caught on. We'll never know one way or the other.

Her name is directly tied to her career and her past fame. The trick for her is to try and work some of her new, original music into her interviews and performances. Even if she wanted to just sing and talk about her new music, which isn't the case by the way, she doesnt have anywhere near enough material to fill up a concert or an interview anyway.

That is all Jackie and her teams fault, it shouldn't take Jackie several times longer than other artist to come out with new music. None of the other artist have as much time to even write new music as Jackie does. They are doing things like concerts and tours while writing. Olivia must have been writing her "Guts" album while she was on tour with her "Sour" album. When ever Olivia finishes her "Guts" Tour her fans are going to expect another album right away and are not going to buy this I was too busy crap. Not a bad deal, you keep the new music coming and we will fill your concerts.
The trouble with most young celebrities when they get older is they never had a real job that you had to be at 5 days a week, and then they complain about putting out an occasional instagram that takes 1/2 minutes to make.

I agree with that, but on the other hand, her old stuff, which is what she's known for, is a real turnoff for a lot of people. It's a conundrum.

I said many times there are many entertainers that started even younger than Jackie and made it big as a singers or actor. Actors, yes. It is very common for children to be actors from a very young age, including Shirley Temple and the Olsen sisters. That is because there have always been kids in movies and TV. But not singers. Very very few singers have released a solo album (OHN) at age 10 with a major label. Actually, I can't think of any (other than Jackie) but I imagine there must be others.

Most singers now that are around Jackie's age were taking singing lessons a learning the art so that they can become good singers. Jackie just ran the clock out as a very young singer. Unfortunately Jackie had to do what could make money now instead of investing in her future because she had two parents and 3 siblings to support.

Unfortunately Jackie had to do what could make money now instead of investing in her future because she had two parents and 3 siblings to support. Jackie had no choice because her "talent" was being a child prodigy opera singer. And, by definition, child prodigies have very short shelf lives. It was now or never. Jackie (and her parents) did the right thing. I am one of the few on this forum who believes that Jackie's only talent is being a child prodigy singer. Sure she has a good voice and good looks, but zillions of other adults have good voices and good looks and Jackie has nothing that will cause her to stand out among these zillions. For me, the surprise is that her career has lasted as long as it has. Which is why I am hanging around to see what the future brings.

She hasn't been very productive in some areas – writing and learning musical instruments for example. She has put up a few videos to suggest that she plays the instruments in the house, but from one video to the next there doesn't appear to be any progress toward actually knowing how to play. I was a little disappointed to see that she has not gone very far on the bass in her latest video. I won't go into detail, but any guitar player, or teacher who works with beginners, would quickly assess her as a first-day student from that vid. That's ok, but she's had that bass guitar for how long? It's little clues like this that have led some to call her lazy. I won't go so far, but rather, I'd guess that her heart isn't in it. She doesn't seem to have that zest and push I see in so many musicians, many who never go a day without practicing things they've learned from their tutor, or from fellow players, or from YouTube tutorials. Jackie says that music is her life, which I don't doubt, but I don't see the mindset and determination of a musician in her. I feel sorry for her, actually. Maybe it will come, but being young is when you make this stuff happen if that's what you really want to do.

That has been crystal clear for years. Same with acting. Singing is her talent.

But the new stuff...she has no fan base for. It's like I've said for a long time. Jackie had her career, and enjoyed years of success with it. It's mostly over now, save for a few events a year where she can still make some money off her old music. She's hoping to start a new career in a new genre, but thats simply a long shot, even with her past fame. Finding a label to aid her in producing an EP with original music has long been a dream of hers, and Solla helps to fulfill that dream...far more that it produces any results resembling a new career or new fan base. I'm just hoping Melody Place continues to support it. I'd love to see more original music come out from her and Greg. I like it quite a bit.

Jackie claims she loves to write songs and is always writing songs but where are these songs? The 6 Solla songs and the 5 songs of 2H Part 2 are the only songs we know she has written. No real songwriter has written only 11 songs by the age of 24. Every real songwriter is compelled to write songs and share them with the world. That is what they live for. And sharing the songs they have written is the only way to get feedback and get better. How good would Tom Brady be if he only threw 11 passes at age 24?

Jackie until very recently has lacked the confidence to try out her own songs in front of her fans. She needed quite the encouragement from the audience to sing Smoking Gun in Nashville in 2022. When done, some of the crowd hooted and hollered to show their support for her song, and she flexed one of her little biceps and said, "See how strong and brave I am?" It's only in the last couple of years that she has decided she has nothing to lose. It's also not until the last couple of years she has had a label that is encouraging and supporting her development as a song writer.

she flexed one of her little biceps and said, "See how strong and brave I am?" Ohhhhhhhh brrrrrrotherrrrrrrrr! She said it a bit nervously and was looking for more support. Jackie's more sensitive/fragile that you might think. In a VERY recent interview, Jackie was talkng about how any conflict face to face makes her want to cry...she can't handle it. She started tearing up just talking about it and you could see where the interviewer cut some of that part out to protect Jackie. Come on Disappointed, show a little empathy.
