As I said, I have no problem criticizing artists I follow when they act unprofessionally. Grace had, in the live performance I attended, been quite a dynamo. During the pandemic, they had arranged a concert with various artists doing a 20 mins to half an hour and she was somewhere in the middle. I expected it to be acoustic given the situation but she seemed rushed, not that well rehearsed, used a cheap uke as accompaniment even though she owns professional quality ukes (bearing her name no less) and guitars. This had more the feel of one of her IG lives where she's just having fun with fans and being loose and free with everything but I think she did the audience and herself a disservice by not taking the event more seriously. The only event I can think of that you might be referring to is the performance she did for her local Rockland County food pantry on April 11, 2020. I'm not sure what "unprofessionalism" you're referring to. Other than her not using the uke you'd prefer, she performed well, and even used electric guitar for a Jason Mraz cover at the end that the hosts of the event were wowed by. She was live for around 15 minutes.
You had the right event. I've seen Grace on video numerous times and live once and was impressed all but once - that being this performance. I don't count the home videos people make of songs since the audio quality is not great by default. In this case. she was playing a cheap uke (I remember it being green) and I think she had it from when she was a kid so it was not a professional setup. It sounded like a cheap toy and was annoying. I don't remember the guitar at the end but it was a few years ago and I tried to forget it. The board discussion began on this page. I just assumed she was not connected without a live audience. Someone else commented it was like an IG live of hers and I agreed.
Not long afterwards, she did another online show for Billboard raising money for a homeless shelter for gay teens who had been kicked out and she sounded much better and was on top of things. She also used a professional quality uke in that one.

Jackie is endearing when she operates from this space. She had to feel a mountain of pressure when it came to her sibling. She deserves credit for accepting people where they are at and for showing unconditional love.

But to pretend it was all about Jackie is revisionist history. You admitted to being wrong in that post but are you going to admit to being wrong again? Its revisionist to pretend the ratings werent because of Jackie. Going back to the season 6 (the season after hers) she was mentioned multiples times even in the judging of a non-cc child singer who was later eliminated: when they aired the youtube show: in the opening of the first episode (along with Grimm): She performed ND (your favorite song) before they announced the winner: and in another season with an ADULT CC singer: Not the only examples.

She was the first little girl with the big voice to be seen in the US for a very long time. She was surprising. But since Jackie, there have been several others, and had they been the first one, the same thing would have happened. It wasn't so much Jackie, it was the shock of a little opera singer. But I believe that she did encourage other little girls with the same kind of talent to enter talent contests because they admired her and they saw what was possible if they tried.

Jackie is endearing when she operates from this space. She had to feel a mountain of pressure when it came to her sibling. She deserves credit for accepting people where they are at and for showing unconditional love. Endearing? Are you kidding? She threw her high school friends under the bus by trying to force them to allow a boy to use the girls' bathroom, and threw her older fans under the bus by shoving those pro transgender ideas down their throat, knowing full well that was against their lifetime values. Where was the unconditional love for those groups? If she and her parents had any brains, they would have kept things on the down low regarding that foolishness rather than making it their cause. That cost her several friends and many fans. Then she compounded the problem by going on Access Hollywood with Jacob and saying she didn't care if she lost her "religious" fans and she would replace them with gay fans. Then proceeded to throw that new group of fans under the bus by singing at Trump's inauguration, knowing full well his anti gay and anti tranny policies. LOL! Oh, it's all so endearing, though, it really is.

I started reading the old posts, and just laughed when you and some other poster took issue with her occasional laughter. Sorry, but I hope I'm never so serious of a person that I start to take issue with something like that 😂. Given the time this event occurred, her laughter was personally uplifting. I rewatched her performance, and I still can't see what issues you and that other person had. I personally didn't mind the tone of her lime uke. It was also a nice throwback to her Ex's and Oh's performance, which is the only other time I remember her using that uke. I didn't see her do anything during the performance that I couldn't imagine her doing up on stage at an actual concert. She also didn't "look high" like you suggested in one of your comments.

I know what Disappointed thinks about Jackie, I say so what! You can think that all you want, Colty, but the truth is that I was right all along when I said years ago that she wouldn't amount to anything and that it was all a one time lotto win. Yes, I was ostracized and bullied relentlessly for speaking the truth, but the truth inevitably prevailed. By the way, don't forget that tomorrow is exactly 14 years since she won the lottery, so get out your fireworks and open up your shrine for the special occasion. LOL! And you can celebrate her riding the coat tails of that one time lotto win for far, far longer than anyone could have ever predicted. But the party is finally over.
